Tulsa Zoo is a fun place for everyone! There are lots of cute animals and exhibits. It is usually clean and is easy to navigate. It's big enough to see lots of animals and spend a day but not so big that you are exhausted and losing children and your mind by the end of it. There is currently some construction on some new exhibits. They were nose salesy this time than I've ever notice before- pushing paid parking, memberships and souvenirs. The membership is a good deal if you go often. Otherwise just ignore all that and go see the baby chimpanzee! read more

Disappointed that with a membership card have to wait in line for cashier to enter. No need to have a membership any longer. Cigarette smoker at entrance, turned around and left. May return in winter. Summer is not a friendly time at this zoo. read more

I've been to the San Diego zoo, Chicago, and pretty much every major zoo in the United States as an avid traveler and a non-Oklahoma native. I can say that the Tulsa Zoo is a good zoo, but isn't comparable to the biggest cities in the US. Duh. What were you people giving bad reviews expecting? But I'm impressed. Yeah, a lot of exhibits get closed down for repairs, but the fact that Tulsa can't even afford to keep lights or reflectors on the roads yet frequently spends money on new exhibits and repairs at the zoo is pretty nice of them. The first time I went, I was honestly expecting a slab of concrete with a confused underfed squirrel, not an entire chimpanzee and polar bear exhibit. The fact that this is getting bad reviews for not being the same quality as a huge city in SoCal is ridiculous. Tulsa has gone above and beyond when it comes to making their zoo enjoyable for both kids and adults. I'm impressed. read more

We had a couples day at the zoo today and had a wonderful time! Other than there being quite a bit of construction (not always a bad thing), the zoo is in terrific shape and being taken care of very well! They have changed a few things up over the years, but it is overall for the better as they are bringing in big crowds more often now. We were very sad they got rid of the wolves, cheetah, and some of the other awesome animals but it's all good. I plan on going a few times this summer so I will update my review as the construction progresses! read more

It's been a few years since I've been to the Tulsa Zoo and the last few times were as a teacher, so I didn't truly get to appreciate all there was to offer. My sister's company is a zoo sponsor, so she was able to get tickets to an after hours event. It was nice to be able to explore the zoo with less people than usual. First, a review of the event-The zoo did a really good job with this event. There were a lot of staff available to make sure everyone stayed engaged. We were able to walk around and get good information about the animals. My niece was even able to feed a giraffe, which was probably the highlight of the night. We were fed a hamburger dinner, which was really well presented with a lot of topping options, and dessert was a smores bar. The two hours flew by and we had so much fun! Secondly-the zoo itself. I love the Tulsa Zoo. It is nicely laid out and you can get a good view of the animals. I'll be glad when some of the construction is done and animals are in their new habitats. There were also a few water areas that seemed really gross and had a smell. Other than that, everything was great! read more

Pretty decent zoo for Oklahoma. There's a little tram system that you can use for touring, they do sea lion shows, there's a children's area, plenty of places to picnic or dine inside. There's a lot to see here and a lot of shops for kids to pick out toys or learn more about animals. For only $10 admission, you're actually getting a lot for what you pay. read more

The Tulsa Zoo is an awesome zoo. You would never think that it would have one, but it does. It has snakes, birds, fish, African animals, and so much more. Plus, the weather is pretty good (except for the winter) so I think the animals like it too. The staff is so friendly, the prices vey fair and the zoo large enough that you can spend all day there easily and not get bored. Kids would just love this zoo, it is so kid friendly with all of the rides and extra zoo-related exhibits to keep them interested and occupied. Love the zoo. My great grandchildren would live there if they could. Most disappointing aspect of the experience is trying to order season tickets from my phone. Whoever designed this web site must have been older than I am. Very confusing. Very user unfriendly. My wife and I both tried to order season passes for one of our Grandaughters and our 3 great grandchildren on line. Finally admitted defeat and called. Not the best zoo I have ever been but they had a decent amount of animals in a pretty large space. There seemed to be a lot of construction going on and I accidentally went on like home school day trip day or something because in the middle of the day on a Thursday there were hundreds of children running around. I think once they wrap up the construction it could be a four star zoo. Another complaint was that they had the lions and the tigers next to each other and they were not enjoying each others company both sets of animals were pacing and roaring and looking pretty agitated. read more

This zoo is definitely different then the other zoos that I have been to. They didn't hand out maps when we got there but that was ok I figured they have the paths marked and it would be self explanatory on where to go. They do have a few signs but not a lot and there were barley any staff to ask them for directions. The layout was very confusing and hard to plan our walk out. There seems to be lots of just empty space. We did get there at 3 and figured we would have enough time ... but nope getting lost and not knowing where to go ate a lot of the time. But the staff started putting animals in their inside enclosures before 4 pm and they close at 5 pm so it was frustrating walking around to find nothing at the end. And the animals are not grouped together like all the monkeys together nope they have tigers and small black monkeys and red pandas together.. very strange zoo to me. If you have gone to Sand Diego I wouldn't recommend going here you'll be very disappointed read more

Great family day on the 4th of July. Great lay out, great experience. First time here, spent about 3 1/2 hours seeing all the exhibits. Perfect size for our 6 & 11 year old. Only down side is some of the animals were on the sleepy so we didn't see much of them. Will definitely be back though. read more

Tulsa Zoo was ok. It wasn't as good as I expected and the place was really dead (hardly anyone was around). I felt bad for the animals because they seemed pretty bored. The zoo has a few neat animals, but it was unfortunate I didn't get to see some animals or shows because the day was so slow. The zoo is building a new site. Hopefully it adds a bigger attraction to kids and adults. read more

Just hosted a birthday party here and I can't say enough about the staff at Tulsa Zoo. Amy and Karen (the event coordinators) were so kind and responsive. Hannah, who took care of the catering, was delightful and really welcomed our family. The food was good, it was nicely displayed, and of course, the animal experiences were really fun. During my grade and middle school years, my family has always spent weekends in Tulsa for shopping and the zoo. We had a zoo membership for years and so I should remember it now visiting here a few days ago. Well, the only things I remembered were the WILD LIFE TREK exhibits. Also, I feel cheated since the polar bears no longer are at the zoo. It has been replaced with a duplicate grizzly bear exhibit. Oh well, polar bears are expensive probably to maintain. I think the OKC zoo is better but hey, it's Tulsa and it was our childhood memories. As a kid, I always had fond memories and this Tulsa zoo has quite a good collection of large animals- chimps, penguins, lions, tigers, etc. read more

My boyfriend and I are both animal freaks and zoo nerds and this was the first zoo we visited together. I grew up around Tulsa and had been there a few times before, but it seems like it hasn't improved at all and has actually backslid a bit. When we went, most of the exhibits were closed. The arctic was shut down due to the death of the polar bear. It is very cheap, so for the price it is a good zoo, especially for kids who would love some of the smaller exhibits. read more

Summer might be a good time to come to the zoo, but at least I don't need to fight with the crowd around the winter time. It definitely got a little cold and some animals might not be out. I love the Tulsa zoo. It has many indoor attractions so hot or rainy days are even good. They have polar bear days- a discount when it's cold outside. The best feature is a child drop off and pick up area. There is a cop on duty so folks who do custodial transfer can have a fun safe place to swap kids. You have to exit the zoo trough a gift shop so that's sometime stressful with tired cranky kids. The giant globe near the front of the zoo is really fun too. The little train and merry go round are classic zoo attractions along with all the animals of course. read more

Love this place! It's my nature therapy. I go here when I want to unwind. The layout is easy to follow. You could run through it in a few hours or make a day or two of it. The animals look happy and healthy, and the environments are large and thoughtfully arranged. Zoo staff are consistently friendly and helpful. My only wish is that they would expand and update the gift shop. This is a great place for everyone to get out, get some exercise, and learn fun things! read more

SO much of the zoo was under remodeling and the parts that were opened, the animals were no where to be seen. If you did see them they were napping in the corner. Which is fine by me, I love a good nap, I just wish there were more pairs of animals maybe? So they wouldn't look so lonely and bored. It made me super sad for the animals. read more

I was surprised by just how big the Tulsa Zoo actually is and by big I mean spread out, be ready for a nice long walk people! It definitely has some fun exhibits and super affordable $8 admission for adults. The bear exhibit and kangaroos were the best exhibits out of the zoo. This zoo was a very good experience because the proximity to the animals. My wife's favorite attraction were the giant tortoise because they were energetic. The price was good and the exhibits seemed well maintained. They had a trail in which you go thru life in the Cold, Desert, Forest, and Water. Those were very nice exhibits. read more

Good way to spend a nice day outside. Small zoo with affordable admission. You can see everything in one visit. Some exhibits were very nice, but some need some work. It bothered my son to see so many exhibits with only one animal. He felt like they looked lonely and bored. Large area is under construction but looks like it will be very nice once it's finished. For as big of a city that Tulsa is, I would of expected a better zoo. They don't have as many animals and I was hoping, and the layout seems kind of weird. They have tons of dead space, and honestly I was bored by most exhibits, like I said, tons of dead space. And a lot of the interesting animals were off exhibit or the layout wasn't very well to where we couldn't see them very well. I have been to zoos in smaller cities that are a lot better. The sea lion exhibit was pretty nice, I'm guessing it's rather new. This zoo is in need of a lot of improvements. read more

Fun trip for the family. One of the better things to do in Tulsa. It's a pretty big zoo with plenty of things to see. It has a wonderful carousel for the kids and a train that can take you to the other side of the park for a fee. It is well worth the money! read more
