However, I wasn't sure they would match what I planned to wear them with at home. I purchased the two items and took them home to discover that the colors were not quite right. Thankfully, I had my receipt and the tags were still attached, as I hadn't even tried the items on. A few days later, I returned to make my return. The cashier scanned the receipt and the items. She then told me that she could only issue a gift card. I told her that the return policy on my receipt says I have 30 days to receive my original tender. She agreed with the policy but said the computer wouldn't give her any other options. I asked if she could request a manager to assist. She obliged. After waiting about 15 seconds, she told me the manager wasn't coming and that I could only get a gift card. Again, I said that isn't the policy for tagged, unworn items with a receipt and returned within 30 days. I told her I was OK with waiting for the manager to assist us. The cashier then told me that the manager left the building and was on break eating breakfast. I asked who else could she call to assist us. She hesitated, but paged for help again. While we were waiting for assistance, she repeated that I was only going to get a gift card and there is nothing else that can be done. I simply replied that I'd like to ask a manager why. She repeated that the only option is a gift card and that no manager was available. The manager arrived and greeted me and the cashier. She took a quick glance at the receipt and told me that she can refund the purchase to the original tender. I told her that's exactly what I'd like. She then told the cashier that she hadn't pressed the credit button on the register. The manager completed my return in 10 seconds. The cashier was insistent on her incorrect information and tried to discourage me from waiting for a manager by insisting that a gift card was the only option, when actually she had not tapped the proper button to help me. She did not apologize after she was corrected and turned a 10 second transaction into a 10 minute one.

Sure, that Michael Kors bag hasn't been in Macy's for about a year, but what the hey, it's now 40-50 percent off! If you don't mind being a season behind, you can really score on clothes and accessories. They are generally free of defects, and are just overstock from department stores. Don't miss their luggage, fragrance/bath/skincare and jewelry sections, either, as you'll find some incredible bargains there, too. I'm a little disappointed with this location's shoe selection. It's the same shoes season after season, year after year. The inventory isn't changed up nearly as often as the ther sections. And that's sad, because in this one respect, TJ's is always the same place twice. I would love it if they started carrying men's shoes, but I am pretty sure none of the locations do. (They do, however, have a great men's clothing department that's almost as big as the women's clothing department.) One of my favorite sections is the back of the store, which contains home goods, cooking supplies, and gourmet groceries. It's always worth a look!

If a salesperson does not want for pictures to be taken, they can approach the person in a nice way to find out the reason for the picture taking... I would be happy to oblige.....

They also have a small men's section. They do have multiple check out lines for purchasing items but staffing can be light on even busy times and days. The cashier staff are always friendly and polite as well as being helpful. On our last visit while my wife browsed the ladies sections I walked around the store and was greeted by two staff members. The only downside to Marshalls as a brand is many times the Health and Beauty shelves are empty and left empty or with limited stock. My wife likes a specific hair spray they carry but finding it can be a challenge so when she does find it she usually has to purchase several cans. Overall, a quality place that we will continue to shop at.

Everything is elegant and good brands but for 30+% off of retail. I like stopping in here every once in a while to browse and more often than not come out with a shopping bag or two. It's always quiet and non-chaotic too, which the introvert in me appreciates. I am free to browse without prying eyes and bumping into others.
