I have several trips coming up and was looking for a few items to add to my suitcase. There were two that caught my eye. However, I wasn't sure they would match what I planned to wear them with at home. I purchased the two items and took them home to discover that the colors were not quite right. Thankfully, I had my receipt and the tags were still attached, as I hadn't even tried the items on. A few days later, I returned to make my return. The cashier scanned the receipt and the items. She then told me that she could only issue a gift card. I told her that the return policy on my receipt says I have 30 days to receive my original tender. She agreed with the policy but said the computer wouldn't give her any other options. I asked if she could request a manager to assist. She obliged. After waiting about 15 seconds, she told me the manager wasn't coming and that I could only get a gift card. Again, I said that isn't the policy for tagged, unworn items with a receipt and returned within 30 days. I told her I was OK with waiting for the manager to assist us. The cashier then told me that the manager left the building and was on break eating breakfast. I asked who else could she call to assist us. She hesitated, but paged for help again. While we were waiting for assistance, she repeated that I was only going to get a gift card and there is nothing else that can be done. I simply replied that I'd like to ask a manager why. She repeated that the only option is a gift card and that no manager was available. The manager arrived and greeted me and the cashier. She took a quick glance at the receipt and told me that she can refund the purchase to the original tender. I told her that's exactly what I'd like. She then told the cashier that she hadn't pressed the credit button on the register. The manager completed my return in 10 seconds. The cashier was insistent on her incorrect information and tried to discourage me from waiting for a manager by insisting that a gift card was the only option, when actually she had not tapped the proper button to help me. She did not apologize after she was corrected and turned a 10 second transaction into a 10 minute one. read more

This Burlington is brand new, clean, and organized. The building is big and spacious. Plenty of parking. Just like most Burlington stores, this one is underrated. It's like a TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Home Goods combined in one factory, but cheaper! At my most recent visit, I saw brand names such as Coach, Nine West, Steve Madden, and more. They have a huge selection of shoes, bags, clothes, accessories, pet supplies, toys, and home goods. They also have some furniture. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will be back! read more

Sarah at the cash register is an amazing person. She made me feel better about my entire day with just a nice sentence and a laugh. I left feeling thankful. The store had a lot of fun items and it was well organized. It was a relaxing experience. I regretted not having been to a Burlington's store in years. I wonder why i stopped shopping at Burlington 5-6 years ago. I will definitely be coming back. read more

THE NEW BURLINGTON STORE! This is the new Burlington is located in the Dawson Marketplace Shopping Center in the same section as the new Homegoods and Bealls, (south of Krogers). It has been open for approximately four weeks. Although I was excited to see that there is a new Burlington in the area, I wasn't so excited with my first visit. Yes, the store is clean, well organized and staffed with friendly and helpful staff, it just didn't feel like a Burlington Coat Factory. First of all, the name is now just Burlington and I was just starting to get accustomed to BCF. Second, there were no coats in the store and I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around that because this was the one place that sold coats regardless of the season. I want the old Burlington back!!!! When I say I want the old Burlington back, I mean the one that sold leather bags and shoes and unique quality clothing. Over the decades this store has been downgraded to something I don't even recognize. While the prices are fine, the quality is not and I prefer to have great bargains that don't sacrifice quality. Right now, the selection of clothing for ladies is a bit skimpy but that could just be related to this being a new store that is in transition. While you might find a great item at a great price, it will probably be more of an exception rather than the rule. While it is a bit "hit or miss", I wouldn't totally write it off because you never know when you might strike gold. Remember, they carry more than just clothing, they also sell home decor, bedding infant clothing and accessories, bags, hats and jewelry for ladies, shoes, and more. I can say that when it comes to hats and fascinators, they are the "go to" option. They also have some interesting items in the home decor section and I have hit the jackpot on occasion. It was an easy in-easy out. The place has so much parking. The layout is a bit weird. Instead of being circular or squared off like most of these places... it seemed like a long line of stores on each side. Not a huge deal but it did seem like more walking than what most of these places provide. They have all the typical stores. We looked around some but were just trying to make it to our destination so we didn't stick around too long.

However I always wanted to have more shopping and dining options in the area for a a more complete experience. My prayers have finally been answered because there is now a new player in town and I am loving the fresh options. Dawson Marketplace is the newest shopping center in Dawsonville and is located at the intersection of 400 and Dawson Forest Rd, directly across from the outlets. If you are traveling North from south of Dawsonville, you will not be able to miss this center as it is anchored by a ginormous Kroger on the left. Along with the Kroger, you will also find Ross, Marshalls, Tuesday Morning, Hobby Lobby, Five Below, Famous Footwear, Kirklands, Verizon and Starbucks. Also joining the current inventory will be Wendy's MOD Pizza, Senior Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, Burlington Coat Factory, Restoration Hardware, Beall's Outlet, Marco's Pizza, Home Goods, and services such as banking, hair and nail salons and dental services. I have visited several of the existing stores and I am very pleased with the cleanliness, organization, staffing levels and customer service. I look forward to visiting the other new stores and restaurants once they are open. Get ready because next summer, Dawsonville is going to be the hot, new shopping and dining destination!

I am pleased to say that during my subsequent visits to the store, I have found it consistently clean, organized and well staffed. Yes! When you enter, you will be warmly greeted and welcomed. The store still seems to be transitioning to the cooler weather so it wasn't as well stocked, (but neither were other stores that we visited), so in a couple of weeks they should be up to speed and ready for holiday shopping. I will definitely be checking in!

The store was stocked with Anastasia Beverlyhills lipsticks, tart blush and the chocolate bar eyeshadow pallets.I purchased Becca aqua luminous perfecting Foundation which is normally priced at $44.00 at Sephora but was on clearance for $4.00 yes $4.00!! I purchased all my shades lol! If I'm in this area in the future I will stop to check out their makeup and beauty section.

Upon entering the store a kind lady named Sarah immediately acknowledged my presence with a smile. Never having visited Torrid I immediately noticed it's a women's clothing store with a large selection of women's dresses, tops, bras and underwear. Sarah approached me and began to inform me of values, prices and quality of their merchandise. Another staff member joined us named Meghan and she helped inform me of more rebates, discounts and offers to make anyone's shopping experience at Torrid a great choice. After receiving such great service and support from these two employees it was easy for me to see why a gift card from Torrid is going to be a wonderful gift to give anyone. Thank you so much Sarah and Meghan for you great customer service and making me feel great about my visit to your Torrid location. Keep up the great work and I will be back to visit for more gift card ideas again in the future!

The only thing I didn't like was the baked goods. I purchased a sourdough. It had caraway which is similar to rye and I do not like rye. I did however like the croissants I purchased but on the flip side the five cookies were meh. So more was bad than good. The other vendors I purchased from were wonderful. Eggs, bone-in pork chops, ground beef , dog treats (chicken claws) three types of greens, arugula, Bibb and romaine, and a frozen chicken were some of the things I purchased. I did notice only one vendor had fruit, strawberries, which sold out quickly. The next time I go I hope there is more to choose from. I will definitely return.
