I purchased a Samsonite Freeform 28" checked bag because it closely approximated the size of my current bag, rolls well and its hard shell prevents me from overpacking it. In addition I also purchased a backpack for a great price. The salesperson who helped me gave me 15% off both bags, making the deal even better. I had been looking for this bag online for a while.

It's located at the far north end of the outlet so parking was usually easier to find compared to the more central stores.

The salesman CHARLES who welcomed me when I came in, opened the bag up and demonstrated the rigidity of the bag, STOMPING ON IT, kind of funny at the time but impressive. What I bought may not be the exact one I fell in love with, but it's close and enough was enough. I picked it up off the shelf and asked the clerk if I could untangle the back straps and try it on. 'But of course. Did I have items I'd like to place inside it to try out?' No, I didn't. I didn't go to North Star this morning planning to buy, I just did. Anyway, I tried it on and we were one. It's really very nice. It was on 'sale', too. Complimentary monogram. I chose gunmetal to match the hardware. A dust bag comes with it. There is a metal plate on the inside with a number by which to register your bag. Also, a phone number is there for anyone to call should they find your bag and want to return it to you. I told the clerk that's a nice idea, but I don't see that happening. It was a great experience and I feel so good. I will treat it with a leather conditioner before I use it. The patina that develops over time should be lovely.

Took 90 minutes out of my busy day, and when I arrived the manager told me he would only give me the current sale price even though I had a receipt. The difference was almost $50.
