The Tanger Outlets are a welcome reprieve from the busier, more crowded, and higher-priced outlet mall next door. I never had trouble finding parking, and always find a few good deals when I visit. Most recently, I found a couple of hand tools in a tool outlet store, some calendars and toys, and my spouse found great deals on sweaters and jeans in the Old Navy outlet. It happened to be New Year's Eve, so the whole place closed early (6 p.m.!) and we didn't get a chance to visit every store, but next time we go will be on a better shopping day. read more

Lots of good stores, the food court and bathrooms are clean. Lots of stores here, something for everyone. I like the wrangler outlet. For work jeans it is great and I do not have to spend $40 for a pair of jeans. I can get the same one for $12. read more

I went to the Nike outlet store today. When I checked out the attendant girl by the name of Teresa was very rude to me. I was asked if I had the Nike app. I showed her my phone and asked if this was the correct app and very rudely she said "no". I told her you're very rude she said " this is my voice" . I've never been spoken to so rudely. I did speak to the manager and he apologized for her behaved towards me. Why do people work if they don't want to serve customers. read more

I love how clean, spacious and aesthetically pleasing the stores are here. No matter what your budget is, they have affordable clothing, shoes accessories, home/kitchen decor etc. For clothing/accessories I recommend Loft (great place to pick up work clothes/casual/dressy), Victoria's Secret (for all your underwear/casual wear needs), Nautica and for shoes Charlotte Russo. Across the street they have the premium outlets filled with luxury brands like Coach, Prada, Kate Spade etc. I highly recommend Kate Spade and Coach for stylish timeless purses at an affordable price. I recommend stopping by the Auntie Annie's pretzel in the center of the Premium Outlets. The cinnamon sugar pretzel is delicious, flavorful and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. read more

Ride the trolley? This is a large outdoor outlet mall outside of San Marcos. This place is huge, there's all kinds of national brands, things and places I've heard of. Parking is ample throughout here, with row after row of patrolled parking. This mall isn't as flashy as the one next door, it's not based upon the San Marco Piazza in Venice, but it's still okay. The stores aren't quite as high end as the one next door, but they have another Banana Republic at both locations for some reason. There's supposed to be a trolley, there were stops around the perimeter of the parking lots, but I never saw a single one. There are a few places to get some grub, and bathrooms available. The area is pedestrian friendly and feels safe and well lit. This place needs a theme like the outlet mall next door! read more

Listen. This is a huge outlet. It's actually two in one. Tanger and Premium. I didn't do two separate check ins but I sure did some good shopping at both. I never hit an outlet without looking for Coach, Torrid, and Nike. My other stores I love are Tory Burch, Gucci and Neiman Marcus. After that, I pop in and out various shops. I love the chocolate shops there. I never leave without assorted Lindt truffles as gifts and I never leave without stoping at Rocky Mountain. The candies are divine but the candle apples though... love love love. I wish I could have preserved some for the ride back home but they wouldn't last the trip. This is a great outlet. There's a favorite store for everyone and you won't leave disappointed. read more

I've been going to these outlets for years and they've gotten progressively worse, but you can still find some gems. It's pretty hit or miss. Usually Old Navy is pretty good, but this last time it was basically bare. I found a lot that I loved at LOFT and H&M. Aerie and American Eagle are usually pretty good. This place is a city within a city....get ready to walk if you want to experience everything this outlets have to offer. Pretty much if you can think of it you will find it here, so get ready to spend some money not because it is pricey but because there is so many bargains that you just can't pass on. Food court is not to big but it looks decent enough to satisfy your hunger.....so many name brands it's just a matter of what your preference is. This place has so much to offer but beware if you happen to find yourself here on a weekend or on a busy day for there will be a pretty good crowd to contend with. read more

Tanger outlets has some good sales and is right in front of San Marco's premium outlet. It has the stores that most ppl can afford like forever 21 and etc. San Marco's outlet can be a bit pricy so tanger has good other options. Coming here after san Marco's can be a bit tiring but it is definitely a place to try coming out. It is an outside mall but it is easy to walk around or drive around. Standard outlet shopping. Located right off the freeway, you can't miss it! This is 1 of 2 outlets on the same road. This could be considered the lower-end stores. I still found some really awesome deals here! I came in the middle of the week and it was not that busy. But I could see it getting really busy on the weekends!! I did my shopping the fast and lazy way. Drove around and only parked at the stores I wanted to go into. I doubt I'd be able to do this on the weekend. , so plan on walking A LOT. Tanger is one of the big outlet mall companies - I've been to the one in Branson MO and depending on whether it was them or one of their competitors, Smithfield VA, Lebanon TN and Gaffney SC. They're all pretty much the same deal - an outside parking lot surrounded by pretty much the same exact shops. Some deals to be had but the majority were not much cheaper than anything you could get in a Wal-Mart of Target. There is another outlet mall across the way - I think that one is a Premium Outlets and it has some slightly higher end stores. read more

Started out at this mall then went over to Premium. Tanger outlet has spots like Adidas, Kirkland, Corning Ware(who is going out of business in March). I started with Adidas who has everything in the store 50 per cent off. I was there so long I got to meet some knowledgeable and friendly employees. Debonie was very sweet as I picked out clothes she explained the types of clothes, soccer, training and helped me put together some stylish clothes. She made sure I had the correct shoes. Jessica was there to offer opinions and give a friendly smile. I even met and talked to the manager, Mary. They all told me I must come back when I visit Tanger Mall. The sale was awesome and I picked up some nice clothes to wear to Mardi Gras in New Orleans next month read more

Always great deals for the whole family, I love the fact that they not only have great deals but they have stored from different price ranges. It's hard to find that unless your at the mall. I love that each store is on its own, you find one brand all in one store and if you don't find what what you are looking for in one they have others within the same style. Come with a whole lot of time. It is a open mall concept, so there is a very high chance you will need plenty of water as you navigate around the mall. this mall is right next to another outlet so you will need plenty of time to be able to visit all stores here as well as attempt to make sure to visit the outlet next door. now here is a tip as to how my strategy here works so i can get the most out of both malls. i try to park as must as possible in between both malls as this way i can cross over to one or the other and the car is basically mid way between both malls. now that i parked i will go to the customer center and pick up the extra discount booklet, generally they are paid booklets, so if you would need to pay for it it may not be worth it depending on how much you will spend, as many of the stores will only give discounts if you spend a certain amount of money, so make sure to ask the customer care person to take a look at the booklet before purchasing, on the other hand if you are a military member, these booklets are usually free if you show your military ID. this mall also has a cool thing for the tourists, if you come here and spend a certain amount of money in one store alone, there is a free tax office that will give you back half of the taxes you paid at the store. the people from the tax free office told me that the tax from the one purchase has to be over $12 dollars, you bring in the receipt with your passport and flight itinerary and they will give you back half of the taxes you paid. that is pretty neat if you came here to spend some heavy cash on one store or two. or if you got that couple of hundred dollar purse you always wanted to bring it back home with you, definitely go get some of those taxes back. overall the outlet malls are paradise if you have some cash and a lot of time to look for the best deals. you can save a lot of money here. there are plenty of restaurants around and food courts so rest assured that you will have all your needs in one place, come with a lot of water and hydrate cause all the shopping can be exhausting, but definitely worth it. read more

I would have given it 3 stars BUT since it's right next to a 5 star San Marcos Premium Outlets. I had to dock it 1 star. This place was just too expensive, they had stores I like but I didn't find anything at a reasonable price. The only store I found a deal was H&M 2 black denim jeans each $12.99. Coupon vending machines cost $5 and attached is discounts in it. If you are spending at least $100 it may be worth it. Just check attached picture of vending machine. read more

The maintenance and cleaning crew on the Tanger Outlet side do an Awesome job. The cleaning crew that take care of the sidewalks go through and sweep with industrial sweeper, then use an industrial scrubber and use a huge industrial power washer that leaves the sidewalk looking fresh and clean. I have talked with other shopper out there we all really appreciate the hard work those guys do. Your work have not gone unnoticed. Now on the Premium Outlet total opposite it's a filth hole the sidewalks are filthy with gunk and grime. So make sure to wear a old pair of shoes you don't want. If you have to wear a good pair of shoes be prepared to wash the soles of the shoes along with disinfecting them . read more

This Tanger Outlets is a great spot to shop with some great deals. Every time I go to San Antonio I try and stop by here to get some great deals. They have a good amount of fast food restaurants for you to eat at after a long drive. Or you can simply shop, which is what I normally do. We came into town on a Sunday morning, the stores had been open for about an hour, and the cars, traffic, and people were crazy. We made our way through, looking at what was there, since it was so busy, we decided to return the next day, first thing and start fresh. So the next morning, after a breakfast at the Cracker Barrel right in front, we hit our favorite stores, and ended up with some good bargains, and had a nice day. You cannot come here without a plan. You will over spend and be overwhelmed. First timers should go online and make note of stores to visit. Be warned: not all stores are outlet stores with amazing prices. So look for the word outlet by their name. If it is not there and you are looking for great prices just keep walking. Get ready for walking. Weekends are busy and the month of December as well back to school shopping can be a traumatic event. I hit my favorite places and am usually satisfied when I leave. The state has opened up. This is an outlet and you still have restricted hours. Closing at 7 during the middle of the week is ridiculous.

There's really no point in going to Tanger Outlets when Premium Outlets is right across the street with better inventory. Because Premium Outlets is superior, parking in Tanger Outlets is easy and the racks aren't nearly as wrecked. If you can't find parking at Premium Outlets, try Tanger. If you want to hit up both, definitely do Tanger near the end. read more

This is a big mall, in which I enjoy a good walk and alot of window shopping. One side is for the "upper class" the other is for the not so "upper" side. My favorite places there are: HOT TOPIC: Only the best place ever! www.hottopic.com They always have great deals and a 99 cent area. I love the shirts and jewelery there. The costumer service is great as well. Earthbound: I like the bamboo sticks and wind chimes. It smells nice too with all the incense and oils. Rue21: They have my size there, and it's fashionable. They have a 99 cent area sometimes. Vanity Fair also has great deals for clothing. I used to like Claire's, but In noticed their products are kinda cheaply made. Don't like how they bought into the corona propaganda and closed many important stores . Also, the security heckled my boyfriend who's a semi professional skateboarder and told him he can't skate (nobody was around he wasn't bothering anyone ) and this is unacceptable. Mind your own business I say. This place is dead during coronavirus scare and they should be worried about real issues . I remember when an outlet mall really meant something. The strip in San Marcos serves one purpose: what you think of as a mall is obsolete. It is nice being able to come find all the major brands in their own store all at one place. But the insane experience of going to a place that's rarely not busy and trying to push through all those people for... what? You mean most of these places don't have smoking deals like outlet malls were supposed to have? It's still $50+ for anything? Why did we come here? I thought the Polo, Calvin Klein, or Tommy Hilfiger stores would have some good deals. I'm cheap, but I'm not expecting a miracle. I rarely find anything of the sort. Be ready to pay 20% off FULL price. The Adidas outlet is the one shining example of what an outlet store should be. Good deals and funky, wild shoes can be found, much less some cool clothes on the clearance rack. read more

There's nothing bad nor anything good I can say about the outlets. I, as a man, do not shop nearly as much. My perception even on a black Friday is, am i really saving money on crap I don't need. I'm still paying a pretty penny on Christmas shopping and the actual, feasible, good stuff that you will actually wear or use there isn't much of a sale of any all. What I do appreciate is so many stores in one place, for the most part of on a regular weekend traffic is managable, parking is easy to get too and you can let the lady go.. or find something for yourself as well. read more

We stopped by here while visiting Texas and this was so much fun. Tanger outlets and the premium outlets are directly across the street from one another. Some of the stores repeat but allowing you to look for sales in both locations. This is the biggest outlet that I've ever seen (I know it's two). Torrid is a store for us curvy girls. Pieces were trendy and leaned more toward casual with lots of blacks, greys, deep reds, etc...not exactly my style. They've got their own size numbering system which had me scratching my head a bit but hey, do you. prices are much higher than I expected. Clearance rack dresses $40+ ??? I think not! But they had some really nice jewelry pieces I was able to snag on sale. read more

Came here for the Halloween trick or treating. I looked atriums the area and this was the only mall that had an event scheduled. It was a nice event as they got the fire department and police to come out. It is always nice for the kids to see the cars and trucks. I always like shopping in this outlet as opposed to the one in Austin. read more

Extreme shopping and extreme workout! This outdoor outlet packs a punch with a ton of popular stores which have decent outlet prices. I've made purchases from their Pottery Barn outlet, Gap outlet and Pendleton. While I didn't feel like I hit the jackpot with amazing price points, I definitely felt like I saved some moolah. There is an exponential amount of parking and clean bathrooms - such a plus! The outlet itself isn't organized well by interests. Be prepared to walk... a lot. Not so secret secret about me - I am a total cheapskate. Most of my shopping is thrift stores and maybe a little Target when I'm feeling saucy. I just prefer being able to switch out my clothes on a whim and not feeling bad about it rather than finding good quality pieces that I want to keep. On this side of the outlets, I picked up some cute earrings, a gorgeous dress, a crazy cool and comfy pair of jeans, and some undergarments. And I spent under 100 for all of it. And we were able to drive around and park near each section, even on tax free weekend. Our experience across the street - not so good. I'd stick with this side until I win the lotto, kthx.
