Honestly I've been looking for a solid barber for 6 years in Waco. Many have done okay, but nothing compares to the service you get while you're here. Ashley treats you like you've been friends for years, and Danielle is absolutely wonderful behind the bar. The services they offer are impeccable, haircut and beard trims are always on point. Straight razors are the way to go, and Ashley is an absolute wizard with one. Highly recommend this place to anybody looking to be pampered, something they do an incredible job of here. read more

Usually I'm one of the quiet people that doesn't talk much when getting a haircut but we were chatting the whole time she's very friendly. I feel like we were misled to believe the VIP membership was a yearly subscription, not a monthly charge. I am sure there are men who spend $100 a month on their haircuts but not this guy. I was informed I could only cancel the membership via email, which I've attempted to do but have yet to receive a response. Now I'm out almost $300 for a service I never used and will have to cancel my credit card. They are shady scammers, imo. read more

For what they say there supposed to do they don't live up to the hype. They over you a drink when you select one then tell you that it's for a specific person so confusing if what you can select. The lady was more focused on the conversation than focusing on my haircut. Maybe I went in at the wrong time because all the other reviews were positive, I didn't get that at all from the employees. read more

Waste of time. Called ahead and said walk in only which is okay. Turns out if you pay for their 85 dollar a month membership you get sat right away. Waited for an hour & 15 mins after being told a 30 minute wait. Ended up just walking out. Telling everyone who asks me a barber in Waco to stay as far away as possible from this place. read more

I rarely trust new people with my beard as it is a prized possession, but because of the "corona" I was far to gone on the wild side to wait for my normal barber. I set an appointment late afternoon for the following midday with Barber Ash, this wonderful person worked magic on my face and I now have a new barber in my life. I couldn't have been any happier with the job she did, not to mention this work of art only set me back10 bucks. This was honestly one of the worst haircuts I've had in recent memory. Buzz on the sides, scissors on the top is about the highest level of detail you're going to get here, and even then it's not going to be executed as well as a place like sport clips would. There will be no tapering on the sides, no blending on the edges so you don't look like you have awkward tufts sticking out over the side of your head. I came home to find several strands of hair coming off the side that were inches longer than anything around them, meanwhile the hair immediately surrounding my swirl in the back had been cut down so close that it couldn't really do anything but stand straight out. It is in no way unreasonable to expect a stylist at this price point to be able to identify and follow a person's part, but she clearly could not and the results show it. At the end, the stylist added product to my hair when it was still sopping wet, which just created a slimy, slicked down mess that looked like I'd been caught out in the rain, and she was surprised when I asked if she could blow dry it, which is something that should just be a given after a full shampoo, especially at this price point. I can't really see without my glasses, and that means that when I go to get a haircut I have to place a good deal of trust in the stylist because I can't really know what they're doing until they've already done it. I would absolutely never go back here because I simply cannot trust their stylists to do what I have asked them to do or remember what I have requested. read more

My hubby needed a shave after being hospitalized and sick prior, so it had been well over a week since his last. Our daughter referred us to this salon and they took great care of him. He had in mind to have a barber shave, but the barber was off today. However, Amy gave him the next best thing with the shielded razor and he was quite happy. This location has been ooen 6 weeks, they told us. I thought it was nicely done with a rugged, manly type interior. Their cabinets look like tool boxes. There are game tables made from old barrels and bar stool type seats, a bendch made from a truck tailgate, mason jar light fixtures. They offer a variety of games, and if you drink, free beer! I suppose it's free even if you don't drink, which we don't, so that was not a selling point for us, but it certainly willl be for many. Looks like a well-stocked bar (but only the beer is free, Lol.) Manis and pedis are offered in the Man Cave. And in addition to the great shaves, haircuts are obviously offered as well. Yep, it's a manly salon all right, with metal sign decor, three large tvs, checkers, arcade games, and more. Amy provided my hub's shave and was quite attentive, wanting to make sure he was pleased with it. Her upsell attempt of after shave was not in the least pushy. "I think this smells so good," she said as we were at the bar to chevkout. I agreed, nice, but not what we were after today. She was polite and smart to have introduced herself to me first initially, as she shook my hand, prior to turning to introduce herself to my husband. The other ladies were equally friendly and kind. One had been on break when we arrived but was glad to answer questions we had before we even got out of the car! For all these reasons, we both recommend Tune-up, the Manly Salon. I called to see if I needed to make an appointment. They said no come in it's about a 45 min wait. I arrived checked in and watched as customer after customer was put in front of me. Only one time did any one ask me anything. No one seemed very concerned that I had been there an hour and a half on my only day off. I ended up leaving with a bad taste in my mouth for tuneups. Went in yesterday for a haircut and beard trim. Haircut looks fine but not much better than I can get at sports clips. I was really not impressed with the beard trim, however. I didn't get a chance to look at it until I got home where I noticed that it was not even. The hair on one cheek is cut noticeably lower than the other. read more

WAS a long time VIP for 3 years. Multiple times I had scheduled appointments times not honored. The last time I arrived 15 minutes early and I was told I would have to wait. I was fine with that but, what I wasn't fine with was the 45 min I waited after my scheduled time before I walked out. Other stylist were available and could have taken the customer. The assistant manager was sick "And she let everyone know" not wanting to deal with anything. The worst part is the stylist loses well tipping clients and the management does not care AND IT IS THEIR FAULT. read more

Booked A appointment online using the app. Set it 10am for 1pm. Drove 40min walked in at 12:50 and was told I'm sorry the person you booked with wasn't working. "I meant to call you". She said I was welcome to wait with a lobby full of people or book another appointment tomorrow. I'm a reasonable person understand things go wrong. With gas prices the way they are it's a costly mistake on my end. Let me add this isn't the 1st time they screwed up my appointment. I have gone to tube ups in the past. They have been generally whelming. Long waits but like they have manly things so it's cool I guess. Idk I just need to have less hair than I went in with. That should be the priority, not membership options. No issues with the employees really, but management needs to have more staff in the afternoons 2 hour wait kinda crazy. At least they won't make you put on a mask if you wait for half the day here. read more

Spent an hour waiting to get my sons haircut. they worked on the same guys the entire time and we ended up leaving. They spend to much time talking and goofing off. I have never seen a mans hair cut take over an hour. Maybe they should start taking appointments. read more
