GO ELSEWHERE! It's a dog pound and I would leave it ZERO stars if I could. FOOD: Horrible! Eggrolls so greasy the oil gushes down your palm. Orange and Gerneral Tso's chicken is woody - hard and stringy. Pork Fried Rice has NO onions, peas or carrots and has only a few tiny bits of pork, so basically you're ordering yellow rice with a few tiny pieces of bean sprouts. YUCK! The white rice was ok. Pan Fried Dumplings were tiny, overfried wontons so hard they were inedible... one of us almost broke a tooth! We have had better food from cheap food carts! You will NOT receive crunchy noodles, sauces, utensils or napkins and don't even think of asking for chopsticks because the first time I did the BEAST behind the counter (the taller "man") berated me for asking! Which leads me to my next point... SERVICE: Both men taking orders at the counter are RUDE, unfriendly, and rabidly argumentative! They literally drive people away! One (the smaller man) is stone-faced, doesn't make eye contact and sneers at you and the taller one is MEAN! He argues, treats you like dirt (when he's not on a personal phone call and trying to ignore you) and one time he SHOUTED at my elderly mother because she politely asked to add something to our order! He should be ashamed of himself!!! RESTAURANT: We visit the small convenience store in this strip mall very often to buy Lottery tickets and in all these years we have never seen anyone go in or come out of Tung Hing. That should have been our clue to avoid this place like the plague but we decided to try it. First impression? Tons of boxes stacked up on both sides. The second you enter you feel like you're in a warehouse. The boxes are filled with orders to save them from using (and paying for) bags. The floor was filthy and as you know the front area of any restaurant is usually indicative of the cleanliness (or lack thereof) in the back area. Look up and you will see DUST on almost every visible surface! YUCK! Read the other reviews and you will see that the two males working the front counter are rude, NASTY and driving people away, even those of us who live closeby. You will also see this food is dishwater mediocre. There is no flavor in any of it and... Never,. not once did we ever receive a receipt! That's a red flag too. You're probably being overcharged. I've been a customer of this restaurant with my parents since childhood. Their wonton soup is flavorful full of soft wontons, green onions and pork strips. They also offer a wide variety of entrees, apps and combination plans. Combos with contain a meat/entree with eggroll and side of fried rice start at like $9.75 while entrees served with white rice start at closer to $11. Everything comes in sturdy to-go containers that can be reused and that will keep the food hot for the ride home. When ordering for pickup, they are really accurate with their time estimates over the phone. They are down to business when you call to order. Biggest gripe I have here is the awful customer service, not only did I stand there for a few minutes while he was on his phone unsure if he acknowledged me, after the second hello, had to politely "raise" my voice asking if they were open to get their attention, the few times I've ordered here I've been treated very poorly, almost every visit. Local community have agreed since I am not one to be negative. Food is good, nothing to call home about, restaurant itself is not inviting (cardboard/trash and stock in customer area) but then again that's consistent with many Chinese restaurants. I've been here three times in the past couple of months, and two out of three times they got my order wrong. I ordered the lunch special but was charged for the more expensive chef special. And they always forget the soup that is supposed to come with the lunch special. The guy that takes your order acts like he'd like to be anywhere else, is rude, and to top it off, would not take a credit card, only cash. Lastly, they don't give you any sauce, utensils or fortune cookies. We have struggled since moving to Milford for good solid Chinese Food. We have tried all the places mentioned by locals on NextDoor but none really sizzled. Tried Tung Hing on a whim not expecting anything great. I was wrong. I'm in love with their pork egg foo young lunch special. I always appreciate the lunch menus lower prices at Chinese restaurants so you can try a few more dishes without breaking the bank. They make a very good hot and sour soup and the pork fried rice that comes with the lunch specials is tasty. Their chicken lo mein and their eggplant are also good bets. Lastly, I want to applaud them on their continued Covid Precautions still in place. Big plexiglass wall between you and the kitchen. Order and then wait in your comfy car and they will bring it out to you. Each time we have gone, the guy taking our order has been efficient and nice. Time and time again I have tried to give them another chance. One of the sons is not only rude but has made comments that are not only offensive but simply not true. Months ago he accused my son of calling the restaurant and placing an order but never picking it up. I explained to him that he must be mistaken because my son has autism and is petrified to use the phone. He laughed at me and said, "It was him." I then cautioned him to be very careful what he said next. I realized I should not have gone back but they are very close to my home. This past week I placed an order (with the same person) and when finished, he said, "go outside and I'll bring it to you." I complied and waited by my car. He came out and said, "I told you last week that customers can't come in here and wait. They closed the bar down the street because people were hanging out inside!" I explained that I wasn't in his restaurant last week and that I had no idea what he was talking about. He waved his hand in my face and then walked away. We are VERY done going there. From the appearance, this place looks like nothing special, but I assure you it is a hidden gem! I have lived in Milford for over 20 years and tried numerous Chinese food places, this is still my favorite. They are fast, price friendly and consistently great. Hands down the best Chinese takeout / delivery in the area. The Chinese food here is consistently excellent and is cooked before your eyes in the open kitchen setup of the restaurant. It's an authentic style of Chinese food, but they do all of the basics just right - Lo Mein, Egg Rolls, Beef and Broccoli, General Tsao's Chicken, etc. There's definitely a group of regulars that frequent here. No doubt this is a healthy and delicious option if cooking at home doesn't seem like an attractive option on any given day of the week. Highly recommend! read more
