Second time ordering. Fried rice isn't even fried, it's whiter than regular white rice. Beef chow mein had no actual fried noodles and was all cabbage, chunks of celery, barely any beef. That being said, food is meh - doesn't really bother me, but what actually bothered me is the attitude. I spend $30 for two meals with egg rolls and got a total amount of 5 sauces. asked for extra hot sauce and was told no more. hot sauce packets are like $0.20 each, no reason to be stingy about it since they get them in bulk for even cheaper. we're not buying from here anymore. just go to jimmie's, first street apizza... any local options that are not this. read more

We go here every Friday and have for a couple years. The food is excellent, is always prepared the way we request (and trust me we make changes all the time). We eat our soup at the restaurant while they prepare our meals to go. It's a tradition that I look forward to weekly. I order take out for lunch very often from Dragon Kitchen. Since I work at Basement Systems in the Industrial Park, we order out from local Chinese places often. I have tried all the Chinese restaurants in Seymour and I have found this place to be the best. I don't know if it's cause they put more oil to greesy up the dishes or that they cook the food a bit longer, their good taste much better then the other places. PLUSSSSSS the price is a buck cheaper then most places in Seymour. One last thing... ask for their HOT OIL. if you are going to have fried rice or lo mein... try it with the HOT OIL. This was my second visit to Dragon Kitchen over the last month. The first time the food was just alright, so I decided to give it another try. I stopped to get some appetizer for dinner - BIG MISTAKE!!!!! The fried chicken wings I ordered were not cooked all the way and they had a funny smell to them. Also, the egg drop wonton soup was just too slimy for me. I guess if I added more chicken broth and cooked it longer I could have salvaged it. Lastly, the barbecued spare ribs on the bone, the one thing I wish was not overcooked was. They were extremely dry. Even though they had a B rating posted on the door this was food was definably an F. The employees could also be more welcoming especially if you are the only customer in the whole place. Best Chinese food in 50 mile radius as far as I'm concerned. The best egg rolls, pork lo Mein, and pork fried rice around. Try the boneless spareribs. Excellent. I lived in Seymour for fifteen years and kind of took this place for granted. I drive an hour round trip from West Haven just to get some Chinese food from Dragon Kitchen. All the Chinese in West Haven sucks. They only take cash. No credit or ATM cards. There is a Bank of America ATM across the street though. read more

Pretty damn good for my first Chinese experience in Seymour. It doesn't taste super fake and has a good amount of flavor. Also didn't seem too greasy which is definitely a plus! I'm now a huge fan of their egg rolls. Delivery was super fast on a Sunday - 20 minutes from when I placed my order! We have lived in the valley for almost three years now. Consistently Dragon Kitchen has been the best. WE have tried the other Chinese places here in the Valley and while they are good "sometimes", they do not have the consistent quality and taste of this place. Seriously the best Chinese food I've had since moving to the valley 4 years ago. The vegetables were fresh and not overcooked and every ingredient seemed high quality. My friend's husband works in restaurant fridges and he says this is the only Chinese food place in the area that isn't disgusting in the kitchen area. Highly recommended! read more

The food is good for reasonable priced. The vegetables are almost never over cooked that is so common in many Chinese restaurants. The only downside to this place is that Dragon House doesn't take credit / debt cards. There is a nearby ATM but prepare to be gouged with surcharges from the ATM. read more

My experience with this place has so far been one hit and one miss. The first time I went there, the takeaway order was perfect! The house fried rice was very palatable, and the four season vegetables were also great! The second and more recent order of the same food as above took much the same time to come out, but the house fried rice was completely dry and tasted like it was soaked in MSG. The 4seasons vegetable was a little sour, I can't imagine why, so I was very unhappy with this batch. I think the trick is to go when they are not busy! The first time I went, it was between 3-4pm, so I was very happy they were open and the order came out just right! The second time I went was around 12:40, so they must have prepared the food and sort of left it heating so they could rush the orders? I can only guess. I ordered from Dragon Kitchen about half a dozen times. I usually ordered the chicken teriyaki, which I admit, is meatier than most I've had. However, anything else I ordered was absolute garbage. Their General Tso's tasted like shrimp, I had assumed they cooked the dish in the same dirty pan that was used to cook seafood (this happened to me twice). Would have been bad if I was allergic!! This makes sense as well, because the one time I picked my food up, I noticed that their shop was VERY dirty. These are not clean people. Their rice was undercooked and lacking flavor as well. Their eggrolls were only cooked on the outside layer. The wanton soup was undercooked, much chewier than al dente. At that, most of their food had very little flavor to it. All of their sauces tasted watered down. Yet the coup de grace is, after ordering from them, I started receiving telemarketing calls and cryptic text messages from China (an international number starting with 01186). I couldn't be more angry about that! Nuisance calls that I have to pay for. Unfortunately, they are the only chinese food restaurant in the area that delivers. However, I implore you, it is worth the drive to another restaurant. Consistently good. Of all the places in the valley one can go for takeout, Dragon Kitchen wins hands down. Have never had a bad meal from them and it seems as the cooks are always the same. The front of the takeout could use a good cleaning and some new chairs, but, it's not a place I'd stay to eat in. Rather take it home to enjoy. read more
