So, I actually walked right past this location even when I was using gps. It's nestled in between a couple other shops in downtown Billings, and it's easy to miss The interior is an open space sort of concept/layout. There are plenty of tables, but no bar or patio dining options. The walls have some Thai decor, but the interior is fairly sparse and spacious The menu offers a variety of Thai classics. You can find all your noodle dishes, rice, curry's, typical appetizers, etc. they have Thai tea and a variety of drink options, but no coffee or alcohol options I tried their red curry, and it was tasty. I was a little surprised they didn't ask for a heat/spicy level, but it was still solid, but I would have liked more rice. The fried potstickers were tasty as well, but I would have preferred them to have not been fried The service was relatively quick. I did have to keep asking for a top off on water. Also, my appetizer plates weren't based prior to getting my main entree, so, they just sat awkwardly on the table for the remainder of the mean. It wasn't busy, and there was only one server... and I was the only patron over the 45+ minutes I was there. This also made the ambiance feel sort of sad and empty Some tips: Again, you can miss this spot if you're just walking by. Also, when you walk in there is a sign that says "wait to be seated," but I was the only one there except the server/hostess who was sitting literally 25 yards all the way in the back. It's like the hot stand, but it's in the back. It's a little strange As with all downtown Billings restaurants, parking isn't plentiful. Highly recommend! Fantastic flavor! I enjoy my curry "Thai Spicy", and Tup Tim Thai did not disappoint. The spice was definitely there and the flavors and fresh ingredients were outstanding. The service was friendly and my dish came out quickly. The restaurant is cute and very clean. I am surprised there weren't more customers on a Thursday at 6:45pm for dinner. This place was a hidden gem for sure. I think at this point I've eaten at almost every Thai place in Billings, and this has been my favorite so far. The drunken noodles were spot on. Fantastic flavor, meat was tender, the perfect amount of veggies and basil. Pad Thai was solid. Pretty standard, but good. Massaman curry had the right level of spice and creaminess without being overpowering. Other people in our party ordered the beef soup (it was basically the equivalent of pho) and they all raved about it. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. I appreciated seeing the server sanitizing tables after guests left. I appreciated that there was a changing table for my little one too! I'm on a mission to keep this place in business because I see too many restaurants in Billings fall to the side--but this one is a winner! We highly recommend Tup Tim Thai! I have been missing Cham Thai for months, so it was with a sense of trepidation that we decided to give Tup Tim Thai a chance. After all, they're located in the same space that USED to be Cham Thai. I'm please to say that the green chicken curry is the best I've had since Cham Thai closed. A 15.00 service and delivery fee, plus a drivers tip for delivery? $22.00 on top of order cost? Seems like some greed in action here. And the food, like a coconut soup. Supposed to be massaman curry. Not even close. At the most, half of the rice other restaurants give. Won't order here again. ( in response to your answer, so you made it less hot and now no flavor? I was anxious to try the new Thai restaurant in downtown Billings and was not disappointed. I ordered carry out 8 different main dishes for a family dinner and everyone agreed that all of these dishes were some of the best Thai food any of us have ever had. My order was ready on time and the dishes were hot. Once home, I realized a slight discrepancy in the egg rolls I ordered and what I received. When I called the restaurant, this was quickly and easily resolved. It's unfortunate they're not open on Saturdays and Sundays but I hope this well change in the future. read more

There are two or three Thai food-inspired food trucks that I've come across in Billings, but I think Tup Tim Thai might be my favorite. I don't know that I can point to any one thing as the reason. The spring rolls? the fresh ones, anyway, are incredible. The rolls are cut neatly in half and display their colorful veggie contents in way that entices you to dig in immediately instead of waiting to get back home. I wouldn't recommend that because they can be a messy eat with the vegetables, stuffed into that roll, falling out all over. The peanut sauce is almost anti-climactic, but it does give enough flavor to be worth the extra aggravation. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The cashew chicken? At first bite, I wasn't impressed. On the tail-end of the first bite and into the second -- that's when the flavor hit. There were just enough cashews to give that bit of crunch to offset the softer bites of the chicken and the not-as-crunchy carrot, pepper, and onion. Fortunately, as with some food trucks, the portion sizes are enough for two meals and this re-heated well. read more
