Pakayor is a newer casual Thai food restaurant that has fit itself into one of my rotating spots for a quick lunch. One day, I'll try this place in the evening. For now, though, the lunch options have been good and reasonably priced. The portions of food are ideal for lunch. Come early because it can get busy during the lunch hour. I haven't yet been very adventurous, sticking with the pad pak and curry because they've always been so good. The flavors are lighter than I would have expected, but not so much as to be distracting. The crab wontons -- also good -- but the sweet and sour sauce has a very light flavor. Like many places of this kind, I noticed the food placement on the plate. It's art, in a way. Nothing is placed haphazardly and it's a visual treat that makes you hesitate to ruin it. Pakayor is a sparsely decorated room, but the colors are relaxing and it allows your attention to stay on the food and the company you're with. We stopped in to this gem on our way through Montana and I am thrilled with how delicious the food was! The calamari appetizer is INCREDIBLE! Their Thai tea wasn't too sweet and was perfection. The owners are willing to explain dishes, make recommendations, and really love what they do. It is warm and easy to sit down inside or you can get a delicious bite to go. The food is true Thai! The ingredients are fresh and so amazing! We ordered a couple apps and three main dishes with chicken. I unfortunately didn't get any photos of the food... too hungry lol. The service was impeccable. You walk in and get a friendly welcome. You sit and they take your order. They check on you several times. You can tell they really care about their business and their customers. Truly a great little gem to eat at! I would highly recommend this place for fresh Thai food and friendly service. We were hungry again for some thai food and decided we would dine in this time. The service was perfect. The owner was very knowledgeable and kind, also having a sense of humor. We have definitely found our favorite restaurant in Billings,Mt. on top of the good service the dining area was clean and has beautiful paintings and decor in general. Food was even better than when we got it togo as it was all cooked together and piping hot. If I had millions I would be throwing money at the chef! 20 out of 10 on this one if I had the option to rate it that. My son and I are from Louisiana and I just moved to the area several moths after my son. I've managed restaurants for over 25 years in Louisiana and this food is excellent. It is the most tastiest Tai food I've ever enjoyed in my 62 years. That would include everything on the menu. We eat at the restaurant often. A new Thai place to try in Billings. Service was great and attentive . I had the Penang curry. It usually comes with salmon but I swapped out for beef. Lots of meat in the broth was delicious. My wife had the pad Thai with chicken. again lots of meat, and it was a great pad Thai. read more

I rarely give 5 star ratings and this not the pinnacle of Thai cuisine. I have eaten Thai since the late 70s, in America and several parts of Thailand, and that only once as a tourist. I give it 5 stars because it is everything I remember of a mom and pop place. It is honest food. I asked for level 4 heat and I got level 4. I asked for birdseye chilies and I got them. Most places don't even know what I am asking for. It offers nothing fancy. They are presently dealing with supply issues like everyone else. What they do offer is well worth the modest price and tastes delicious. Highly recommend. read more
