The vehicle had already been looked at by other shops and they determined the transmission needed rebuilding among other things. Armed with this limited info, I had already been looking at trading the unfortunately upside-down financed 240,000 mile thing and expecting to take a significant hit in the resale value. And that after spending $whatever just to get it running. Since replacing the transmission meant a $6,000 cost for this model vehicle I wanted a serious shop to take another look before moving forward. At first, Cory and team also thought the tranny was going ... until he discovered a bad motor mount during diagnostic inspection. Once that was replaced, no more "tranny bearing" noise. Apparently the engine mount caused a vibration that mimicked that bad tranny noise. Thank goodness they did a very thorough look over the entire vehicle and addressed the lesser problems first. Otherwise, I would have eventually ended up spending six grand and the negative equity unnecessarily. Cory found other relatively minor problems that led to the SUV needing to be towed in to them and successfully repaired / replaced them all such that my daughter now has pretty much a brand new ride. Cory and his guys saved me a lot of serious headaches and substantial coin. Not even close to the amount I was clutching my pearls over. Communication was also great with updates along the way over the course of a few days. Cory took care of everything and I never had to leave home and was even able to pay for everything over the phone with invoice emailed. All my daughter has to do now is Uber it over there to Cory's shop and pickup her ride. Thanks Cory. Came back and tried a screw he thought would work. Then he discovered the whole mounting bracket was very loose. He went back inside and came back just a couple of minutes later. Within 5 minutes he had tightened the bracket, tightened the original loose screw, and found a properly sized screw to replace the missing screw. AND he did it all for no charge!
