Great place. The wine was awesome and the women working there was so nice (I think she was the owner) would definitely recommend this place

Sandy Cove Ministries - I didn't see anyone choosing the tilapia and I understood why.

The rooms are modest, but still comfortable and the facilities, while not fancy, are always clean and in working order. The staff were polite and helpful. The only thing was just that the food selection was ok. There were strict hours for meal times, so if you missed the common meal times, you won't get full meals and the cafes were rarely open (they still do have some sundry shops open with some snacks though). Overall, great place for retreats to relax and unwind. I cannot wait to come back here again.

I've been to many retreat centers, but this is my favorite! Usually, when I go on a retreat, I…read morefeel like I'm roughing it with an uncomfortable mattress and sharing a room with 7 other people. But every time I come to Sandy Cove, I don't need to be uncomfortable physically, and focus my mental energy on retreating. The hotel rooms are great - they're a comfortable place to sleep at night. During the day, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay by the fireplace or while eating your meal. There's a large number of options for food, and they are able to cater to specific allergies/intolerances. The food is buffet style, so you won't go hungry! In fact, you may not even be hungry by the time the next meal rolls around. There's also an indoor and outdoor pool, mini golf, shuffleboard, a tennis court, and other things I'm probably forgetting. During the warmer months, there are lots of other activities set up too like kayaking on the water. I look forward to every time I get a chance to come here. The only thing to remember is to time your drive to avoid traffic since there's a lot of time on 95.

I came here after searching for wineries nearby Philly. I then visited IG and browsed a few reels…read moreand was instantly sold on visiting. The occasion was to celebrate a friend's bday and on the weekend that I chose to visit, the winery was hosting a Sip and Shop; I bought tickets for this event and also made reservations for lunch. The drive here was smooth, it took a little more than an hour but I stopped to pick up my friend from DE on the way. When we arrived, someone was directing the flow of traffic in the parking lot, we then stood in line to complete our check in and then grabbed our first glass of wine, which we sipped while browsing the vendors; there were more than I could count - selling jewelry, sweets, candles and other unique and some customizable gifts. After we finished browsing, it was time for our reservation. We were seated at a table by a full length windows which had a beautiful view of an outdoor patio with a view of the Bohemia River - lovely... We ordered our drinks and apps which didn't take too long - we shared the apps, which were Brussel sprouts salad and Brie Bites; both were delicious (we did ask for more dressing for the salad but the flavor was good overall). For our entrees we ordered salmon and Chicken Bruschetta - all was delicious and cooked to perfection with great flavor. Last, dessert, which was a small cake for my girlfriend, whose bday we were celebrating - I think it was Bourbon vanilla - it was absolutely yummy. We all had a very enjoyable experience from start to finish and are planning to return when the temperatures warm up so that we can spend more time enjoying the beautiful, serene surroundings. Also, the service was great, bathrooms were clean and this place has a lot of character... Don't delay, visit!

Hubs and I visited on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. He booked us a tour of the Manor,…read moreand since it was cold out, I assumed we'd be indoors the entire time. To my surprise, we still received the full tour of the grounds. Our tour guides name was Cat. Super bubbly. We learned about Augustine Herman and how he settled on the land. Cat also shared some additional rogue information about a possible plantation and the enslaved people who had possibly lived there -- I'm not sure if that was part of the actual tour script. For our tasting, we had the Bohemia Blue, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grüner Veltliner, and Brian offered my husband a sample of the Merlot as well. We're definitely looking forward to returning with a few friends once the weather warms up!
