We attempted again to secure the space hoping to speak with the other owner but we ended up speaking with Dominique once again and he was ruder than he was the first conversation. For our entrees we ordered salmon and Chicken Bruschetta - all was delicious and cooked to perfection with great flavor. Cat also shared some additional rogue information about a possible plantation and the enslaved people who had possibly lived there -- I'm not sure if that was part of the actual tour script. For our tasting, we had the Bohemia Blue, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grüner Veltliner, and Brian offered my husband a sample of the Merlot as well. We were able to have our welcome reception, wedding, and farewell brunch all at Fox Briar - which made logistics easy, and a handful of our closest family and friends at the Inn for the weekend. Donna made the planning process easy and kept everything running smoothly the day of. Kendall is an incredible innkeeper and made everyone feel welcome and cared for - and her baked goods are to die for! The Inn itself is super clean and comfortable - all the rooms are beautiful but the bridal suite in particular is gorgeous and truly special. The night of the rehearsal no one was there to assist or turn in the lights and it was a very dark and rainy night. Very dangerous for walking. The day of the wedding, it seemed that the staff only wanted us gone. They were cleaning up the rooms before the wedding was over. The lead coordinator of the day had our caterer in tears because they told her that I would be docked money due to her not cleaning the kitchen right. As it turned out we did get the entire security deposit back but if I had to do it over, and based on what I know now, I would not contract with them.
