I went to an estate sale run by the Estate Kings in Chelmsford MA today. The listing said it was…read morelast minute but they were lots of people there when I arrived. In the one of the bedrooms I looked in a closet that was open and had about five or six items in it. I noticed a vintage wool vest that had some brooches and pins on the front that I thought was cool so I picked it up. After going through the rest of the house I took the few items I had up to check out. The man and woman who were there took the vest and the woman said oh I didn't see this. She proceeded to flip over every pin talk to the man and he turned around and said we have two prices for you one with the Sterling pins and one without. $70 for the vest with the pins $50 for it without. I hadn't even flipped the pins over I just picked up the vest cuz I thought it was cool. I told him I didn't want it and leave the rest of my items out on the table I had a few dresses and a jewelry holder he took a glance at them and said $30. Just seemed a little slimy to me that they decided to take a closer look at something they thought was valuable. It was their job to go through the house in the first place so it seemed wrong that they were going to upcharge me because I found something they didn't. I go to lots of estate sales and have worked with lots of other estate sellers who are much nicer to deal with and don't come across as wheelers and dealers. Definitely takes the fun out of estate sales.

Further, I was blamed and banned for property damage at my girlfriends building (also under DJ) saying I was caught on video - which they failed to produce several times. They were extremely unresponsive to calls about problems with the apartment; it took over 5 days to restore hot water to our apartment when the hot water heater broke and there was a bed bug problem in our building that was never addressed. When we decided to move out and they started showing the apartment, they rarely called before showing up and if they did, gave fewer than several hours notice. On top of that, after we moved out they did not return the security deposit in a timely manner (30 days according to MA law). For the past 3 months they have been giving us the run around: not answering phone calls or emails. Finally, we have been forced to take legal action.
