What a disappointing experience. My wife and I moved into a new home this past summer, and although we have several light fixtures we'd like to replace, we're prioritizing a ceiling fan for our bedroom. My mother-in-law recently had a great experience here, so off we went. Entered the store early Saturday afternoon; it was moderately busy - maybe a handful of other couples/families browsing. As we cruised around the store, we noticed a line of computers/desks along the left wall of the store - completely empty. No associates. Later, as we moved toward the ceiling fans, one associate appeared behind the desk Up the ramp to the ceiling fan section and across the store sat another check out counter with computers. We looked at several different ceiling fans - scanning QR codes, discussing sizing, etc. As we continued shopping, we couldn't help notice the two associates near the counter who seemed happier chatting amongst themselves than selling merchandise. We were in the store a MINIMUM of 15 minutes - looking, scanning, discussing, and NOT ONE team member approached us. No wonder they feel the need to have so many cameras - they have no associates who care! It wasn't a total loss, though, we shared a few chuckles taking bets on prices before scanning the QR codes. Great place! Our builder recommended them for lighting for our new build. They have a lot of options and even more online. Hallie has been wonderful to work with and is quick in communicating and answering questions. She is also great about recommending sizes of fixtures based on the blueprints, which have turned out perfect. So far we are beyond please with the products, delivery, etc. The only complaint, we fell in love with a fixture that was on the showroom floor and she said it was discontinued. We asked why it's on the showroom floor and she said I ask my boss the same thing...it was on the showroom floor for months. Cmon management- take down what's not in stock anymore! We had a good experience here. First sales person was nice and willing to help, but also good with just letting me browse. I'd been to several lighting stores, and Turney had some fixtures we'd never seen. They have a great selection. We ended up buying two fixtures from their online store. Prices were decent, quality is great and they even delivered them to our house, which is just outside Austin! I would've given five stars if another sales person hadn't seemed a little put out when I asked for a price on a clearance item. She wasn't all out rude but five-stars are reserved for places where you feel welcome 100% of the time. read more

I was really floored last year when I had purchased a beautiful kitchen fixture. I had endured water damage and subsequently I replaced two fixtures during my remodel. The light fixtures in kitchen and bathroom were obsolete. The sales people helped me decide which fixtures to get. This was pre pandemic (2019) I also got lucky and won the five hundred dollars shopping spree through some miracle. I've posted images of my freebies. I would highly recommend this company. They have from gorgeous lighting fixture to furniture, large paintings in frames, all kinds of nicknacks, and the best candles. They have several styles unlike lighting inc. I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I received from Turney. One of the ceiling fans they installed is clearly too high in the room, although we went with the down rod the sales person recommended. They want to charge another trip charge and another installation charge to fix it! On top of this, the salesperson never returned my calls. Beware, these guys are CROOKS! When you return an item they will not only charge a 30% restocking fee but do not refund your sales tax; even when the sale has been rescinded. What they did was not only illegal and unethical, but just plain bad business. SHAME ON YOU TURNEY LIGHTING!!! In addition, their inventory is a bit pricey compared to other lighting stores. You are better off going directly up the street to CW Floors and Lighting. They have better prices, better selection, and most importantly better customer service. read more

I would rate them 0 stars, but it is not an option. I won't shop at this store again! Absolutely NO customer service! Went in a few days ago, hunting for a chandelier. Walked into the store, thought to myself, "I'm going to have to bring my sister here when she visits," the store looks nice. But, our experience there was poor! There were about a half a dozen people working there, all sitting behind counters/desks. NOT one person acknowledged us (we were the only customers in the store). We looked at all the lighting, found one we liked (it took 10-15 minutes). Still NO acknowledgement from employees. They were talking amongst themselves. We approached the desk at the left side of the store, three employees sitting there. They just stared at us. We stood their awkwardly waiting for them to finish their conversation. They didn't so, my husband said, hello. And finally, one of the employees said, "Can we help you?" We told him we'd found a chandelier we liked. He (reluctantly) followed us to the one we liked. He said he had to see if it was in stock with the vendor. Turns out it wasn't. It was on backorder, he told us. And we'd have to wait two to three weeks. Which was fine. We didn't mind waiting for it. Regular price for the fixture was $709.99, but the price on the sample in the store said $569.99. He gave us a print-out of the fixture we'd chosen. He crossed off the $709.99 price and handwrote $674.50. I brought to his attention that the tag on the fixture said $569.99. He said, "I believe the price on that one went up." We walked out of the store. Went home. I found the same chandelier elsewhere, and paid the regular price. Oh, and it was delivered within two days. We are currently doing some remodeling of our home, I will not be returning to that store, nor would I recommend it to friends. read more

Was told about this place by the electrician that help with our outdoor project and I'm so glad he did. I had been on the search for an outdoor ceiling fan and had gone to your typical home improvement stores without any luck. So I made my way to Turney, and Albert (the nice gentleman that helped me) was very informative about outdoor fans. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he took care of the rest. Also I had been looking for a doorbell for the last 5 years and pretty much had given up, but I found them here. The only drawback, is that they have to order the products, and it can take up to 2 weeks for them to get to SA. I got my ceiling fan and am very pleased. Also got the doorbell. When I went to install the doorbell, it didn't work, so I called Albert and he said no problem, he would order a new one. He called me when the new one came in and I went to exchanged it. No questions asked. Finally after 5 years I have a door bell that's works. Didn't really look at their light fixtures, but if I do need one in the future, this is the place where I will go first to look. read more

After my last review, it took 4 trips but Turney Lighting did correct most of the issues. They put the correct bulbs in the chandelier, replaced the dimmer switch so now chandelier turns off, corrected the clicking ceiling fan, made it so ceiling fan remotes controlled the fans separately. We are still awaiting the replacement light globe for the powder room light fixture (this is a COVID issue). Their service folks were polite and worked diligently to get the problems resolved. read more

We had a terrible experience at Turney Lighting when one of their employees, Roger, was extremely dismissive. I contacted them first through email and then through Facebook since last week and I've gotten no response. You'd think any store would have the decency to acknowledge a customer, but nope. Turney Lighting was very helpful when I started the building process of my new home. Their pricing was fair and reasonable and the work was completed as expected. When it came time to sell my old house I reached out to Turney Lighting to help resolve a minor electrical issue that came up on the buyer's inspection report. They were quick at resolving the problem, and I was able to close on time. read more

David Johnson at the San Antonio store is the best salesman there. My husband and I went on uncertain about what we were looking for. David immediately greeted us and talked us through our project. He didn't try to sell us anything we didn't want. He was extremely professional and spoke to both of is equally.we walked out feeling satisfied and excited about our project.
