I stayed at The Brook at Turning Stone overnight while I was in the area for business. I found the hotel and my room to be clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and I love black out curtains to extend a slow morning. Parking was in the attached garage and no additional charge the checkin staff was polite and accomodating but all business. At one point, I made a joke during check in, and the desk attendant had no sense of humor at all. The hotel is also connected to the casino, which offers gambling, restaurants and night life. I would definitely revisit on a Friday or Saturday night, as it would be a fun overnight! read more

This resort went well above my expectations! The entire facility was immaculate, staff were incredible, and the prices very reasonable. The room was clean and looked fairly recently renovated, and although there was construction happening next door, they were thoughtful enough to provide complementary ear plugs to ensure we were not disturbed by the noise. We went for the weekend and yes it was pricey but once in awhile you just need to get away. We got there earlier than check in but we planned it to go to bingo. It was a cheap bingo so it was crowded. But lots of fun. Many different games going throughout the session. We checked into our room and relaxed a bit. It was close to dinner so we ventured down there were lines at a few places so we decided on the Italian place Pino. They had a reservation available in an hour so we went to go play the slots. Lost a few bucks but it was perfect for us to go eat. Pino was exceptional. Homemade pasta, awesome service and great atmosphere to enjoy a relaxing dinner. The casino was quite busy. Walked around and tried to play. But machines were quite full. Our room was nice but beds and pillows were quite soft. No night light so we had to keep door cracked open. Emeralds was our last stop for breakfast. Great diner atmosphere. Food was excellent. Overall a great time and we donated to the casino. read more

We have been avid fans of Turning Stone Resort Casino for many years and recently stayed at The Lodge. This was amazing with a living room, Chaise Longe, a beautiful balcony and perfect bed and Bathroom! there is a wet bar and refrigerator filled with goodies at a sensible price. The Doorman is impeccable and front desk is amazing always caring about the customer. Wildflowers is an amazing restaurant and the In-house Bar exceptional with a beautiful fireplace and Indian Nation Artifacts and plush seating. The cleaning crew are also top of the tree as they clean the rooms very well, turn down bed at night and leave a dreamcatcher and robes on the bed. Coffee maker, hair dryer and a face steamer were also in the closet. Close by is the Pool and gym with exercise room. The Lodge is the best we have ever been to so far. There is a shuttle to the Casino as the walk can be far for those that cannot walk much. As an end note, we go often and had complimentary rooms making the stay EPIC! Thank you, Turning Stone! We went for a babymoon and had a great experience. We stayed at the Brook. Amanda at the front desk was great and got me a massage at the spa. The spa was beautiful. All staff at the resort are great . I wish there were more signs for the Brook. We did get lost a bit trying to find where it was since we have never been there. We would have liked a mini fridge in the room . (Could not keep drinks or leftovers cold) Besides that the room was great. We will definitely be back in the future . read more

We had a good time while here. when we walked into the room, we smelt fresh paint. I'm not sure if it was newly renovated or just touch-up paint, but the room was very nice. This is by far the worst casino hotel I've stayed at. Hotel rooms reak of cigarettes. It's honestly crazy in 2024 they have rooms like this. The actual resort is decent, but the rooms are basically a crack den. If you have kids, stay far away from this place. Was there to play in the Turnjng Stone Classic 9 ball tournament. What an amazing casino! Amazing gambling area with great food at the Tavern and 7 kitchens. Will try the steak house and emerald next time I come for the tournament. Rooms were nice too. I'm also happy the next pool tournament is in the summer, I'll make a week out of it and golf! Fluffy was awesome as was Martin! Event center is good for acoustics would be nice for floor seats to have elevation for viewing and I have not sat on the floor for that reason. Two escalators work ok to enter the venue but leaving is congested at best and continues through the parking areas. Maybe designated event parking would assist with traffic flow.? read more

I have an interesting relationship with Turning Stone Casino. This place was in my life on several occasions starting with when I first turned 18 and I reached the age of legal gambling in the New York State. Back at that time there were no casinos nearby so it worked well for several trips. Don't worry though. I'm not planning on writing up a place I haven't been to in 15 years. No this review is mostly based on a recent experience at Turning Stone back in late October (of this year!). Honestly, there's little reason for us/me to have been at TSC. Unlike the mid 2000's, today there's several nearby casinos that are all reachable in under an hour. So why trek to Turning Stone? Well a bachelor party weekend that encompasses both this northern New York casino and nearby Cooperstown (we're a bunch of baseball fans) was how we ended up in the area. I was curious though because of that huge time gap to see just how much Turning Stone had changed. A large chunk of this bachelor party group got to Turning Stone the night before myself so I heard all about how much the place had changed and had become nicer. I was intrigued to say the least. Truthfully, it's almost hard for me to write this review because I actually spent less than 24 hours in Turning Stone (we got there in the evening after a day in Cooperstown and left in the late morning the next day). My time there did show me some of what my friends were saying about the updates and changes, but not before I found myself walking in through the old building entrance. I had flashbacks to first coming here because it looked like nothing had changed. At first it really seemed like that and walking through the casino totally feels like that. The keno and poker room and little steps up to the next section of the casino all look the same. I can't guarantee these areas haven't gotten face lifts, but deja vu was definitely occurring as I walked through. Though with a little stroll towards other portions of Turning Stone, you'll find what looks like a mini version of something out of Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. A few high-end-looking shops, a restaurant district, and a fancy new (yet not large) sports book makes up this area. Oh and the newer tower of rooms is also a nice addition which is where we stayed. I'll give a lot of credit to how contemporary, clean, and even slightly unique the hotel hallways and rooms felt. Having said that, at the end of the day Turning Stone still isn't anything super special. Sure it's got some great new additions to it and makes the whole place a little more lucrative, but there's not enough draw for anyone to visit who isn't from a nearby town without a lot of casino/gambling options. For me, I'll stick with the choices closer to me (Connecticut and New Jersey included). Overall though, I can't say Turning Stone isn't somewhat nice. It pales in comparison to most other casino spots and still feels so similar to what it was more than a decade ago, but the improvements and updates are nice enough to warrant four stars (a rounded up from 3 1/2), even if I don't expect to find myself back here anytime soon...or potentially ever again. What I do not understand about this place is the fact that they sell Marijuana in a state where Marijuana is legal but they do not allow you to smoke it in the Smoking section of the casino. I mean it seems kind of hypercritical to me. They want to to buy it from them but you can not smoke it in the smoking section of the casino. it just doesn't make any sense. I think this will lower their weed sales. read more

Not a great place to see a show if you aren't staying at the resort. I saw John Mulaney at the Event Center. The show was amazing and really funny. The Event Center isn't a proper entertainment theater. It looks like a big high school gym, even the comedians both joked about it. That's not the big issue though. The problem is the parking deck. Because Turning Stone is in the middle of nowhere, most people drive to the venue. Unlike exiting a big event like an NFL game or an arena concert, where people are parked in all different directions, there is one parking deck with one lane in and out. I got to my car at 10:15pm and didn't get out of the parking deck until 11:28pm. I spent almost as much time waiting to get out of the parking deck as the length of the show. I guess if you find yourself going here try to park in one of the non-deck lots if they open to Event Center only parking. At least the parking is free and I didn't have to pay to sit for over an hour to leave. read more

Tower fitness center needs updating and remodeling. It isn't like the casino to leave this amentity for dead and yet add new conference centers and new hotels at other Oneida Nation Properties. Fitness center equipment is antique. Carpet in the changing rooms are 25 years old. They advertise private changing rooms and there are none. It feels like an old Tom Odette Motel dump. The fitness center needs to be shut down, gutted to the cement walls, and start over with state of the art asthetics. The way it stands it is pathetic. read more

If you are in upstate New York, specifically Verona, one of the nicer properties is the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Run exclusively by the Oneida Nation, this property blends culture with distinction. This was my second time staying there for a work related conference. When you actually look forward to staying at the conference location, it's a good sign that you should probably write a Yelp review about it . From the pre- check in email to the friendliness of the staff to the quality of the room this place is first rate. Pro tip: Turning Stone has several properties. The nicest one and the one that is most popular is the Tower. If you can request a higher floor either when making your reservation or at check in. Within the tower there is a beautiful steakhouse on the 21st floor. My colleagues and I went there for after conference drinks and had a wonderful time talking while listening to a really groovy singer sing contemporary pop tunes. Both times I stayed in a king sized single. When I stay at a hotel my expectation is comfort. Needless to say comfort at the Tower is the order of the day. There are a variety of options for lighting from switches near the bed, to above the reading chair. The reading chair was extremely comfortable such that if I didn't want to type at the desk I was comfortable sitting on the reading chair. My room overlooked the parking lot which was not ideal but not horrible either. Then there was the bed. Lots of comfy pillows including a body pillow to help with back alignment and I was lucky enough to have a refrigerator in my room which was great to store my water in between sessions as it's not that big. There isn't a microwave though so I would keep the storage to drinks. One thing to mention is that the shower is amazing with two shower heads making you feel as if you have been transported into the rain forest. I'm most grateful because during one of the dinners my beats headphones dropped out of their case. I didn't realize it until the next morning which was enough to jolt me downstairs at 6am! Needless to say I stopped by the front desk and explained my situation. She immediately called security and thankfully they had retrieved them the night before. She even walked me to the security booth near the casino where after providing my license and showing them my empty head phone case I was reunited with lost accessory. Very groovy indeed! read more

Upstairs grill had reasonable wait fantastic beer selection. VERY boozy Candy drinks food/price what you'd expect. Room in tower was nice. Stay away from 5/6 & 13/14 rooms. They take too much on the slots,none of them pay much of anything. The front of the place always smells like grass,and there's cigarette butts all over in the front and back of the building. On the smokers side the smoke is always in your face,on the weekends the place fills with smoke,because there's no ventilation. Somebody may of had a big winner,but it's nothing that would keep you away the place. I see they bought a bunch of junk electric cars and trucks. I bet you feel good about taking from the hard working manual laborers and the poor. They should be offering free rooms and food for all the $ they take. I go to bingo at least once a week and usually two times a week! The old smoking section is absolutely freezing, I go to relax and enjoy myself, but when it's so cold that you can't even daub your cards because your fingers are frozen and your bones ache ,it's no longer fun and enjoyable! If one half of the bingo hall can be comfortable there's no reason the other side can't also! The good side fills up way too early to get a machine (TED) that I have no choice but to sit in the freezer! I won't be going as much anymore! I love bingo as it's my way to relax, but when your shivering, that's not relaxing! Staff says there's nothing they can do about it! Then start handing out blankets or it's going to be a slow summer for Bingo!!! read more

See my review from several years ago below. I still love this place and have been back numerous times since my last review, but like many casinos in the USA, the pandemic ruined its buffet. Many casinos closed down their buffet restaurants and never reopened. Turning Stone did reopen a couple of years ago, but the food isn't quite as good, but the prices are higher. And the new buffet, called Seven Kitchens, is only open Thursday-Sunday. Otherwise, the slots are great, and most of the casino is smoke free...great ventilation since Covid. read more

Stayed in the tower. The price was rough but it's a casino hotel and it was the weekend so of course it's to be expected. Pretty typical rooms for the double queen beds. The water pressure in the showers was amazing. 7 kitchens restaurant is probably one of the best buffets I've ever had. Especially the tiny desserts. Perfect for trying a couple and not being like ready to burst. Service is excellent too. Also tried the emerald for takeout. Food was good. Similar quality to any pub/diner food restaurant. One of our group won quite a bit. The rest of us had some wins and losses. Not to bad for a casino that's been rated to have the worst odds or whatever. We even goofed up at the bar and our tab was not paid correctly. They didn't chase us down or go nuts on us. The bartender said they took care of it and it was no big deal the second night we went back (the tab was quite small so I'd imagine if you run up a heavy one they're tracking you down). All the staff was super nice especially to the 2 of us that pretty much had 0 experience gambling. Overall as long as you set a limit for what you're willing to gamble and just enjoy it for what it is great time. BIGGEST CON THOUGH: no alcohol after 2am. Stopped here on Friday night after a drive around and a phone call. This would make my #75 casino chip which is impressive, and nearly cost me handcuffs and a charge. The decor seems dated at time but I don't know if that's what they're going for or not. The inside kind of reminds me how the Bellagio is - the big lights with massive lamp shades and square draperies etc. if you don't know google that. I'm not an interior designer. The parking situation is kind of a nightmare with the self park being about a half mile walk to the front door. Which yes, there are shuttles but it was 36° out and I'll be damned if I'm waiting who knows how long. Place is very busy - it was a Friday and moseyed over to the roulette table. Put down a $100 bill, dealer counts out chips, and while I was looking around I noticed they are calling the floor and acting weird not looking at me. Other players are getting impatient and I finally realize that the marker is showing a possible counterfeit bill. Keep in mind that tender note was straight from a bank that I brought along. So security shows up, still no eye contact and re-marks the bill, then turns it over and marks it again and it comes up ok. Soooooooo if not, then what??? I ended up getting dusted within an hour and kept a chip and headed out. Overall nice spot- plenty food and a restaurant inside but I just wanted to drive back to our hotel and fall asleep. read more

I've been to Turning Stone Casino a few times over the years, yesterday included. we always have enjoyed our time each time weve come. were from Rochester so we only get to the place really once in a blue moon really because we live two in a half hours away. we love the place very much each time we do have the time to make the trip out which for us is very rare since we are two in a half hours away. read more
