Looked at the reviews and all sounded good. Sent our deposit and then the balance to pay in full 30 days prior to arrival. When we received the 'rules and regulations" we had a pause but we had already paid. Arrived and all was well with the cabin. No TV but advertised as Wi-Fi included. Connection speed was so slow pages would not load, forget anything that required any bandwidth. Would not even keep a cell phone connection. 2nd day it started raining and the internet connection must have been satellite based because it was nothing after that. All that was really not bad. It is a cabin in the mountains after all. My big mistake came when I walked out without the key. They use a box with a combination and tell you "do not remove key from box", rule #???, but I failed and left the box in the cabin and locked myself out. No problem, the owners live 100 yards away, we can just call. Called, no answer. Ok, we can just stop by. Drove to house, two cars in carport, lights on, roaring fire in fire place (no wood for us, out of season and if there were wood we should not build a raring fire, rule#???), knocked but no answer. Looked up, sonic alarm and CCTV. Knocked three more times and waited for about ten minutes total, still no answer. Worried now, out of town, no key and no response. Called again, called two backup numbers then called again. No answer and only 1 voice mail. Very worried now. Left and drove into town and tried again. Finally an answer. First response from Mr. Parrish was to chastise me for not following instructions and putting the key up properly. I offered to come by and pick up a spare key so as not to inconvenience him but he told me he did not have a spare key but that he would un-lock the cabin for us. Now we turn around and drive back to cabin. His response really ruined the trip for us. Never saw or met Mr. Parrish. I think he prefers it that way. read more
