By the time we finished touring with Roberto for two days we felt that we knew so much about the area, history and culture of the region. Each place we went was so carefully planned and curated. We visited wineries, vineyards and a sheep farm that makes cheese. With his help, we were able to visit every place we wanted to see as well as some smaller unknown, hidden gems. Don't confuse the two or else you will miss seeing a few of the 1200 underground caves that date back to 2nd century BC. My husband and I really wanted to see the tour and I found out online that there was a 6 pm tour. Online it failed to mention that it as only in Italian. Not a deal breaker for me, even though I don't speak 2 words of Italian. Low and behold the tour guide spoke English and thankfully did the entire tour in both English and Italian. There was so many interesting tid bits that it was a good thing that she spoke English for us. My husband and I were very impressed and we would recommend the tour for sure. Even though it was dark outside, the caves are well lit.

Vallone di Cecione in particular was incredibly unique and special. The views were also breathtaking. We ended the day with an incredible home-made lunch overlooking the Tuscan Hills. It was the most charming, personal, and thoughtfully-arranged wine tour either of us has ever been on. Azzurra is so warm, passionate and knowledgeable about winemaking and the winemaking process, and makes you feel like family. We learned so much from her in just one day and walked away from the experience full and happy, with an incredible new friend. Christian picked us up right by our hotel, we were staying at the Alta Duomo in Siena. He was friendly, knowledgable, and we felt very comfortable. The highlight of the trip was when Christian took us for a tour of the Altiero Winery. At this winery, we had paid extra to have a home-cooked lunch in the winery's owners home. It was the best meal we have ever tasted. We still talk about it to this day! Along with a few bottles of their delicious wine, we also were able to buys a couple liters of the freshly pressed olive oil. So delicious and almost a fluorescent green color due to the freshness of the olives. I STRONGLY recommend a tour by Christian. This was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany and we will never forget it! Price was about 450 euro for a private all day including lunch for the two of us. WELL worth the money spent. What made it especially memorable was how he connected with our kids--getting them excited about gelato was a fun touch that they still talk about! The golf cart was a lifesaver, making it easy to visit several sites that would have been impossible to reach with a 5-year-old and 2-year-old in tow. We even opted for the cart to pick us up from the hotel so it was seamless from beginning to end. The car seat for our youngest was clutch. Actually the ride was so soothing that our 2 year old fell asleep for part of the trip. Chris also introduced us to the Roman Orange Garden, a peaceful spot we'd never have found on our own. While many sites in Rome are walkable, this tour gave us the freedom to explore comfortably as a family, and we truly appreciated the balance of convenience and insight. If you are someone who love to do all the research ahead of time, then maybe this tour is too surface level for you. I would recommend a more targeted tour for the Coliseum or Vatican City. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend LivTours--and especially Chris--for families looking for an stress-free way to experience Rome.

But the Vatican is big, so we assumed she wanted to show us other portions of the grounds. Our tour was supposed to go until 8 PM, but she ended things at 7 PM. She said we could walk back into the last wing of the museum to see things on our own but security would not allow us to walk back in. We spent seconds / maybe minutes, looking at whole sections of art. She left almost no time to stand and look at things, everything was "ok let's keep going". Although we still enjoyed things, we definitely left extremely disappointed given the cost of the experience. (We paid 318€ for two people to tour - 60€ was the cost of the tickets, so 258€ was the cost of the tour guide.

We decided on their suggestion to rent E-bikes, which were very fun and extended our range a great distance. They gave us written directions for two long rides, which were very clear and detailed.
