We've done counseling before and enjoyed it, but Susie is another level of professional. I loved how structured each session was. Susie was always prepared to have us talk thru something, there was always a game plan! She would give us a practical tool to help us do so to where we were able to effectively say how we felt while the other person listened, and roles would switch. My husband and I have used these tools any time there's conflict. Susie modeled how to empathize with my spouse, which was helpful for me. I was able to vocalize what was upsetting me because she offered a safe space and asked me the important questions. We would keep going to Susie forever if we weren't moving out of California. Invest in your marriage, in yourself! Oh and I was even able to bring my 14 month old when I couldn't get someone to watch him. She had age appropriate toys for him to play with too - that was wonderful!!!

Especially, having no worries about passing a drug screening-as in my case. I was ordered to take a follicle test by the Orange County family courts, pertaining to my ongoing custody battle. Not knowing my rights nor having an attorney, I agreed. My thoughts... "hey what could go wrong, i don't use drugs although I'm being accused, this will be my chance to prove them wrong" ! Once i did Research on Dr. Soltani's practice, I had my doubts. My entire custody case has been favorable to my ex-husband due to his military status. After reading reviews I went back to court and explained to the judge that I would like to go to a different facility to be tested. I gave her my reasons which she denied and ordered me to continue my hair follicle test at Dr. soltani's office. So I scheduled my appointment for a few days after I went in to take the test. It took over two weeks to get my results back I need to find out that I had a negative results for two substances in which I've never used in my life. This office is definitely rigged in the court system is very nasty unfair and UNJUST! It's just as corrupt as this office that works with them hand-in-hand! How gotten away with this is beyond me but I am absolutely disgusted. Do not go to his office!!! RUN FAR AWAY!

She also has a way of shifting the mentality of everything being super negative, serious or threatening, to seeing the issues from a lighter perspective. Rather than seeing other people as an enemy, I am able to see them with love and understanding, which helps me move on and be happier. I highly recommend Suzanne if you want to address the root causes of any problems in your life and then actually want to make a change.

While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. It has been my experience that therapy helps people in several ways. At times, therapy offers a person, couple or family TIME to take out of their day to focus on themselves and discuss the issues at hand. It can be a place for Clients to tell their story and be heard, which can have a very healing effect. Sometimes it's about the therapist and client working together to identify problem areas and chart a course of action; and other times it's just about being in the room with someone in their struggle offering support and compassion. We are not an island. We need one another. Therapy is ultimately about a relationship between two people where the client can explore difficult issues in an environment of safety and unconditional positive regard. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Do they write prescriptions for the medication I have been on for a decade? Do they take my employer provided health insurance? Do they have good bedside manner? Do they make the process fun? At Shine Psychiatry, Sahil Mehta goes above and beyond the basics mentioned above. He also takes an interest in his patients' whole selves. I feel like I am more than just a number, more than just my diagnosis, I am a full fledged human being flaws and all. We talk about stresses at work, the amount of exercise I am and am not getting, and my latest creative pursuits with my hobbies, and everything in between. Sure, there's also the usual check-ins on medical statuses, but through each topic and in every interaction, it feels like Sahil truly cares about the wholistic well-being of his patients, not just prescribing medication and calling it a day. To Sahil Mehta's Psychiatric Services at Shine Psychiatry, I give 5 stars.

I've always had a hard time opening up to people, but Chris and the SHINE team have always made me feel comfortable in every setting, both in person and through telehealth (Zoom). One example that really stood out to me was during my initial in-person evaluation. I found the white-noise machine in the room extremely distracting, and Chris happily turned it off without making me feel uncomfortable about asking. He even took the time to explain why they use it (to give client meetings a little more privacy). He was empathetic and understanding from the get-go, and I honestly felt myself becoming less anxious as the appointment went on. As I answered questions and talked about some of the things I've struggled with, Chris was great at helping me understand why I might feel a certain way. He also helped me realize that many of the things I struggled with were completely normal. At no point did I feel judged. Chris really helped me understand different perspectives on what I was feeling, and I left that first meeting feeling genuinely validated and heard. Coming from an Asian cultural background, I was also grateful that there were many relatable topics and experiences that Chris was able to understand and expand on. Again, he helped me look at things from perspectives I hadn't considered before. Throughout each follow-up telehealth visit, we've touched base on how I've been feeling, what has changed, and the steps I can take to continue improving my mental health while becoming more confident in myself and growing overall as a person. SHINE is the first psychiatry practice I've ever visited, and I'm extremely grateful and appreciative for everything we've accomplished together.
