I have gone to counseling at various times in my life when needed and have experienced both good and not-so-good therapists; Leslie is definitely one of the good ones; in fact she is excellent. She practices EMDR which is a type of therapy that incorporates devices that work to "rewire" bad connotations of fixed traumatic memories into good connotations. 4 mos later I can definitely say that 2 long-standing issues that I didn't even "know" were affecting my reoccurrence of depression were completely "rewired" into positive connotations. This effectively resolved my depression! The negative connotations were no longer in my psyche, buried there and bringing me down in moments of weakness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Leslie is not only a very effective practitioner of this type of therapy, she is also very patient and caring, with the right temperament to administer EMDR for optimal results[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I'm actually blown away by her and EMDR when I think about what it's done. Time will tell if it is permanent, but it certainly feels that way now. I highly recommend Leslie for counseling with EMDR therapy. It's surprisingly effective and as such totally worth it, as it is more of a "cure"than a "bandaid". I've done a lot of work on myself for the past 8 years. It's helped a lot, and I made a lot of progress, but was still stagnant in certain areas of my life. I have been seeing Leslie Cox specifically for EMDR therapy. Leslie is one of the most amazing therapist with EMDR and I really can't thank her enough for her wonderful service. What I believe to be a nervous habit of burping uncontrollably stemming from a past trauma I've had. I've been able to get it under control 100%. Today was my last session and I'm sad to be done seeing Leslie. Leslie is a fantastic therapist! I didn't see her myself my husband is. I have been in therapy for years and when my husband started looking for a therapist he started with someone else and didn't have any progress for about 7 months then switched to her.
