Dropping down to two stars after today's experience. Played 18 w four friends; we play here every 2-3 months. Today we were badgered twice by the Marshall, told us to pick up the pace...we just nodded but it was silly because we were not the bottle neck...; we literally had to wait 6-8 minutes at hole 3 (par 3) to tee off, and then again at hole 11 (par 3) so we had 12-15 min of waiting - he should know who the bottleneck is...and never was the team behind us waiting. And again twice we were waiting for the foursome in front of us...If you want a marshall to engage, have them engage correctly. We shouldn't be waiting on hole 3 for 6-8 minutes...and then being told at hole 5 to pick it up... The second time the Marshall spoke to us he said the people in front of us called it in; at this point I simply repeated his own words to him: "the foursome in front of us called it in??" To which he said "maybe not them but some other team..." - makes no sense. Again if you want the marshall to engage, lets speak truths...cause no group ahead of us would call in on the team behind them...When we finished the round we saw him a third time to which he asked how we liked playing here. We just said it was fine we play every 2-3 months. Finally, most importantly, we finished the whole round in 4 hrs 10 min so getting badgered was silly. We all shot between 83-96 for the round... We all decided we're taking Tustin off the list of places we play. Not worth $175 for this type of vibe, and the course isn't worthy of $175-$200 price tag. read more

I came here for a wedding and the Tustin Ranch Golf Club probably had the worst service of any wedding I've been to. If you are into drinking, do not go here. For a wedding of ~150 ppl, the two bartenders weren't able to serve everyone during cocktail hour. We spent the whole hour waiting in line just to get cut off right before we were able to be served (and they cut off 5 mins early). They also didn't serve champagne or wine until after dinner was almost done. The "open" bar reopened at 8:30 pm and had a long line all night and it was annoying since you had to go in and out of the line if you wanted to participate in the other wedding festivities. At least the proteins were cooked well. The steak, salmon, and kids chicken tenders were all surprisingly tender. However, the broccolini was undercooked. The staff was kinda rude when we asked them about the drinks. They also gave better service to the wedding party vs other guests. read more

It was a beautiful Christmas Eve morning in southern California when my friends and I decided to tee off at 7am to get in some fresh air and exercise before the family festivities kick in. It was so beautiful to enjoy the sunrise with palm trees, sand traps and the pond all around. We arrived a bit earlier than out tee time to warm up at the Driving Range side of the business. We paid inside for 9-holes $80/holiday pricing and a medium bucket ($14/80 balls). I got a code to redeem at the machine. Pretty simple process. I would consider coming back to this range even if I was by myself. The golf carts had the usual navigation systems to tell you how many pars, and how many yards you are away from the hole. 2 USB outlets for charging needs. 2 microfiber towels. 8 tees. I did not notice if the cart had a bluetooth device, unlike other golf carts I've been on it was really obvious to hook up to. So my friend who golfs more often and I said Tustin Ranch Golf Club is one of the only places that lets you play that back 9. For better or worse we came so early their bar was not open yet, so this was my first time playing golf sober. No injuries. This golf course was stunning but on the more difficult side to me with all of the hills, sand traps, and ponds. The grass was really moist and the grounds were a bit slippery during the time we came. I was fortunate to play with very experienced golfer friends so I was playing best ball from their hits and sometimes I'm even more of a cheater and repositioned it to a better version of their best ball. I'm a beginner who is just there for entertainment so my friends don't mind. I don't think I can play with anyone too serious. I really liked that they had staff at the 18th hole who helped wiped down our clubs from all the wet grass when we were done. Good thing I had cash on me to tip him! Overall a beautiful course but definitely on the pricey side compared to other courses I have been on. It's good for anyone who enjoys he views and a challenge. I will probably come back to the range and practice more often since this location is fairly convenient to me. read more

First time playing here and I would come back again! Pro shop staff is friendly and courteous. The snack bar wasn't open until 8am on the weekend which was a bummer. Inside the bar area is fairly spacious and cool place to hang out after the round. Fairways were in decent shape and the greens were rolling true. Golf course is challenging but not difficult and golf carts were comfortable and clean. Course gets a lot of play and many players may come in and play 9 when others are playing 18 holes. The round took 5 hours but it was a weekend so wasn't surprised. Food and drinks were good and prices weren't outrageous. Big Fan! read more

The drive up is so beautiful! We came here for a work friendly game. My wife had an amazing time staying back with the kids why I played some golf. She said the staff inside were hosting a high school banquet, but because it was cold, they let her sit inside for a few hours. The snack bar was really cool, the 2 young ladies working were very sweet and made sure my wife got everything she needed and more. The golf course was BEAUTIFUL!! We got to the 9th hole and then i remembered to take pictures. I will upload at a later time. Thank you for the Players Lounge for letting my wife and babies hang out while we finished up. The course is under construction. Tee times are wide open. There's no demand. And yet, this GM thought it wise to punish a paying customer rather than accommodate basic humanity. We rented space for a Memorial Reception. Well maintained local golf club. We worked with event coordinator. We had 2 tables reserved well in advance for immediate family. The day of event tables full. No tables were reserved. Looked for event coordinator J who said after the fact that the issue was addressed with the manager which was no help on the day of the event. There was an issue with the rude food beverage supervisor or manager. Wait staff began clearing tables while people were eating at 2-2:30 pm. Unacceptable, distracting and unprofessional. We had a group of 8 and booked the tee times 2 months ago (coming in from Arizona). Was not notified till one day prior that aeration was just done. Offered 15$ discount per golfer. Asked if they could give us the Troon rate (1/2 are card holders) for our group - was told no. Website mentioned a drink coupon too. Asked about it - was told no, wasn't going to offered until landscaping crew started work. Even when we checked in, they were not very helpful with our clubs, just told to go "over there" to get our carts. We have been to a lot of golf courses in the area - this was the probably the worst in terms of customer service. read more

I play all over OC but ended up making this my home course. The member rates are good and the range card discounts make it even better. One of the better ranges with frequently updated mats and tees and never a crazy wait even when crowded. The course itself is challenging, especially with the multi-tiered greens. It's well maintained, has some pretty water holes, and good for the price as a member. Only reason not 5 star is because the putting green is small and not always available, and they have no chipping area. Updated short game areas would make this a 5 star for me. read more

Due to landscape work, my golf started from 12th hole. Free drink and discounted late in the sunny afternoon. Not bad and exciting. The marshal kept me waiting for 15 minutes before taking us caravan to 12th hole. (Due to landscape, starting tee was 12th hole) When we reached to 11th hole (signature hole), a lady was ready to teeing off, but marshal, Kelly, kept driving by her. I stopped not to distract her seeing off. Kelly got angry because I stopped following him. I said I wanted to wait until the lady tee off. He kept arguing. He said he was the one rule the course and when he said it's ok, it's ok. I said "no, it is not good manner". He did not agree with me. He kept saying he was the one governing the course and I should have listened and kept following him even she was teeing off. It made me really uncomfortable and disappointed. Ill mannered marshal ruined the player's beautiful golf outing. So sad. read more

I have played Tustin Ranch GC numerous times in the past, and have found it to be a good golf course. However, I have also found the course to be too pricey to play more often, unless you are a Men's Club member. Its located off Tustin Ranch Road, N of the 5 freeway. Positives: Good challenge w/ bending fairways, water and elevation changes. The course requires that you are precise with your shots. Its good they have GPS on the carts so you can measure the distance to hazards like bunkers & water. Negatives: Multiple tier greens that make it difficult to hit a shot close to the pin. There are multiple two tier greens, and #18 has a three tier green that makes it almost unfair if it is on the third tier, and you land on the first tier. Secondarily, there are too many short par 4s that require similar shots, i.e., 220 yard drive and approximately a 100 yard approach shot. I believe there are three short holes like this, vs most courses that have one. I would rather hit different clubs into the green. Regarding the food, its decent. I had the chicken quesadilla ($13), and my friend had the cheeseburger w/ fries ($14.50). The quesadilla was big, but didn't have much chicken. I thought it should have come w/ a side for the price. On the other hand, they got the order wrong w/ the burger and put cheddar vs swiss, and inc some produce my friend asked to be removed. Nonetheless, the burger was big, but not worth the price. All in all, a good experience. I do wish there were less touch points (you have to sign a COVID waiver, and then sign for a cart). The foregoing should be touchless. read more

I booked a tee time at this course on GolfNow for four. One of my sons got sick so only three of us could make it. The course still charged me for the extra golfer and pretended it was the fault of GolfNow. Very frustrating experience. The pro shop folks were not pleasant about it either. And the course is not well maintained and the pace of play is very slow. read more

Golf course has improved lately but for years, it was in terrible shape. I would say it is one of the poorest managed golf courses when it comes to customer service, decent food, and caring about the players who have been loyal through all the bad years. I am a monthly member of the course as I live close by but I would not recommend it to anyone I care about or visiting OC. It is purely by convenience that I choose to play here but I can't stand how this course is run and the care senior management has for its customers. The restaurant is always empty (food is mediocre at best) while other courses in the area are filled with locals having meals and drinks. Shows how badly Tustin Ranch is run and that they just don't care about the local community / regulars. Unfortunately the course (golf) has done well due to Covid and the location is obviously great but their success is in spite of management, not because of management!!! read more

Fairways with varying types of grasses and weed clumps as well as speed (they still don't seem to want to mow the 12th fairway, its like rough), ridiculous pin placements on the edges of hills and rises so going long is bad and coming up short is also bad, tee boxes in poor shape, and the fringes of the greens are chunked up with varying grass types and shameful. Yet they charge premium prices because people still pay. I'm letting my membership lapse-its worth the drive to find courses in better shape for less further inland (ie Goose Creek, Eagle Glen, even Glen Ivy these days). Shame on TR. read more

This review is for a Private Event at the Tustin Ranch. We had both the Augusta and Broadmoor Rooms for our High School Reunion. There are lots of great features, especially compared to other venues, and we did shop around. We chose a buffet package that included 3 entrees, salads, side dishes, rolls/butter and dessert. We bought an extra dessert as the package came with one and we HAD to have their brownies, plus their raspberry white chocolate cheesecake. We ordered cheese display and veggie crudites plus bacon wrapped dates for appetizers. We had coffee, iced tea, and plenty of water. Our classmates mentioned how good the food was which is not the normal case when service is provided for over 100 people. We offered a cash bar; the drinks were reasonable priced and well poured! Parking was ample and free, and there was easy drop off for our set up and decorations when unloading before the event and packing up at the end of the evening. We worked with Sales Director Lisa for many months prior to the event. She was well versed, well documented, and had great recommendations based on her experience. The day of the event, we worked with Victor and Aaron who were highly regarded as well and accommodating to our requests, checking in with us to ensure everything was running smoothly and according to plan. I have been playing at TRGC for a while now and I've never been more disappointed with a course. I booked a round for 2 to play with my boss who was flying in from TX. My boss flipped his car on the way to the airport, luckily he was fine but he missed his flight and couldn't make the round. I ended up playing as 1. When I checked in to make payment, I let them know i was only 1, the gentle man said okay no worries. I played the round and the course was in okay condition (not $200+ worth condition). A week goes by and I get a "manual"charge for the same green fee's I paid the day I played. I called and emailed the manager Brian Haegett. One of the hardest people to get a hold of btw. I explained my situation and he said to email him and he would look into it. 1st- I would always have to follow up and call/email him for an update he would never proactively respond. 2nd- he gave me a BS excuses "our rules are we charge even if the player does show up" there is no logic behind that because the day of the round when I checked In I notified the club house and they only charged me for my round and then all of a sudden a week later I get a "manual" charge?!? If it's a know rule according to Mr. Brian, WHY wouldn't your employee that took my payment the day of playing educate customer and charge me then on the spot?? Is tustin ranch golf course that desperate for extra cash? All in all, pace of play and the condition of course and greens was the same as a $50 dollar course. Sad to see poor management by Brian affect one of the course I used to love playing. Avoid playing here unless you want to waste $200+. You will get more bang for your buck playing Black Gold or strawberry farms. Sad to say thanks to the management at this course I will not be returning any time soon. read more

Had a business training meeting here. The club and golf course are beautiful. The club catered our event. Food was pretty good. The wait staff was very accomodating. We had around 150 people at our event. The private meeting area only has 2 restrooms (1male, 1 female). There is an outdoor patio area that we sat to eat lunch and enjoy the view. read more

First let me start off by saying the Wedding coordinators and staff at Tustin Ranch are outstanding. My now husband and I worked very closely with a coordinator now friend Jessica T. When I tell you from the jump, Jessica was super helpful and respectful of our time and space. She never bombarded me with deadlines or a payment schedule. Now make no mistake, Jessica did email me friendly reminders on how to stay on task and to stick to my wedding timeline. But besides all the particulars, I had almost a stress free wedding day. The entire process was enjoyable and beautiful at the same time. We decided to have a sunset wedding and we went the Sapphire package which was a little pricey but it included everything we wanted. Jessica also worked very closely with Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Irvine which was my Host Host. It's so many details, I don't have time to review them all. I just know Jessica will definitely be missed. For anyone who is seeking time efficient, professional and outstanding client services for any occasion at this venue. Terrible staff and management. Idk who does the scheduling over there, but they should be fired. I'm all for scheduling club tournaments but to not notify players ahead of time of slow play? Front 9 took us almost 3 hours. When asking for a refund I was initially told no. They said they weren't responsible for slow play because of their championship tournament taking place. They refused to give a refund and settled on a credit. I don't want to ever return to this poorly ran course!, so why give me a credit? Staff was rude and not accommodating. Manager sat in his office hearing our conversation with the pro shop guy, But was too much of a COWARD to come out and speak to us. At one time we had 4 FOURSOMES ON ONE PAR 3!!!! The poor Marshall was overwhelmed and definitely a casualty of the poor course planning/management. He was very apologetic and explained the situation.
