I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to train with coach Chris Dunn. While UGP is definitely heaven for serious golf enthusiasts, I myself am completely new to the sport with basically zero experience. I just recently had a golf lesson with Erica here at this incredible facility. I went as I was extremely impressed by the results of another golf friend I have that has had many lessons with Erica. Upon my arrival, I was shown around this incredible facility that encourages weights and specific exercises to help with your golf swing and balance, also critical to a good swing. I have been going to UGP OC for about a month and cannot say enough great things. To put it in a sentence: I leave there feeling like $1,000,000. A member is able to consolidate their fitness routine and golf practice routine into one place. Previously, I work out at place A and golf at place B. These two are far apart and at times, life gets in the way of one or the other. In an ideal world, I want to spend time at both, but struggle like the average person. Now, I am relieved of that worry as I can get a curated and guided workout and a guided practice golf session in an hours time. If that were not enough, I also can get recovery care with massage, stretching, etc. in house too. I am leaving out the master club building, private training sessions/plans, private golf lessons, private massage/chiropractic care available a la carte. I was in the market for new clubs and was encouraged by Lee to come in for a tour of the facility before scheduling a fitting. Lee showed me all that UGP has to offer, from the work out area, recovery and fitting room/hitting bays, this place is proper. Lee explained how there is an initial fitness assessment and how UGP utilizes an agnostic approach when fitting clubs, never trying to push someone in a direction. I scheduled a fitting right then, knowing I would be in good hands. From the second I put my car in park for the fitting, I was treated to a first class experience. Ben greeted me, took my bag as we strolled inside and got checked in. Sitting down and having a look around before my fitting, was of the utmost enjoyment. The waiting area contains comfortable seating, offering beverages and magazines. Perfectly curated golf goods are placed about for you to observe. Ball markers, head covers, gloves, bags, and custom paint filled clubs- to name a few. My fitting was with Jubal, after the initial assessment to see how my body was able to move, we hit the fitting room; a golfer's dream, walls of clubs shafts and drawers of club heads. I hit a couple thin, nervousness and rusted skills both making contributions. Jubal was able to get me at ease with a good-hearted joke or two. His knowledge of club head and shaft combinations, even some swing tips, had me not only striping the ball but with 10-15 yards added! We finally nailed down a combo that worked and felt the best. Mizuno, after being brand loyal to TaylorMade, further evidence of the independent approach taken by UGP. I've said it once already but this place is a dream for golfers. Unfortunately I did not see a full investment return here at UGP. I certainly loved the recovery session and it worked for me! But golf coaching I was very disappointed and in fact did not see any improvement. Every time I was there I felt like it is a wasting time. The coach that I had was basically doing nothing but killing time to end the session. They set up goals before anything and in my case none of goals were achieved. What the coach told me is to spend more money to achieve those goals... I just think that didn't have luck on the coach but recovery is outstanding. read more

I've been going to UGP for about a year now and I can say, with confidence, it has revolutionized my game. I played golf at UC Irvine but after I graduated I needed to find a place to help with my golf fitness and UGP did just that. My swing speed on my driver has gone from about 97 mph up to 103 mph and my irons have gained about 2 to 3 mph each. I also recently qualified for stage 2 of LPGA qualifying school. Wow. This place is where everyone should go to get fitted. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly-great customer service. I went there for an iron fitting with Judal. Couldn't have gone better. We started with a warm up and simplified physical motion assessment. Judal noticed that I had a limitation on my shoulder external rotation and half way through the fitting called in the on-site physical therapist for a quick assessment. He determined my issue was not with my shoulders but due to a lack of flexibility in my lats. Great experience and I would highly recommend UGP to anyone interested in getting fitted for clubs. read more

In the past year, I have been fitted twice by UGP once for irons the other for a Driver. Needless to say, I was blown away by the experience. To start the facility is immaculate and state of the art. In my 30+ years of playing, I have never seen anything like it. Before we began the fitting they assessed my range of motion to get a precise assessment of my swing. The Master Fitter Jubal was very knowledgeable and is also a Club builder so he knows the equipment inside and out. What I felt was really unique about this fitting was that even though they had Trackman and all the bells and whistles, Jubal was paying more attention to my body and swing, specifically the way that the clubs made me move, so at the end of the day my swing was better which improved the Trackman numbers. The new clubs have given me more distance and provided me with more consistency in my shots. UGPs fitting experience is so precise it made me feel like a tour player.
