I was finally able to tour the center, and I loved the layout of it and the activities the children were doing, the place was very peaceful when you walked in and everything seemed very put together. However, when tours are scheduled, I feel that people are always on their best behavior. I enrolled my kids in at the last minute and decided to drop them off in the middle of their day because I was running late that day. The toddler class was fine, and my son walked in happily. But when I handed my baby over to the infant class, I was completely disappointed. The teacher for the infant class was playing Cocomelon for the kids on her phone. A real Teacher would know that any screen time before the age of 18 months has detrimental effects on a child brain, especially shows like Cocomelon, which are designed to be addicted to babies and toddlers (literally, look it up.) I spoke to the director right away and informed her that I was not comfortable leaving my son in that class because the teacher was giving the babies screen time without the knowledge of the parents. The director said that she was not aware that this was happening and that it must've been a one time thing. However, when I asked the teacher why they were watching Cocomelon and she said that she used it as a transition for them to get ready to go to the park, which makes no sense. The director of the daycare was really nice and offered a trial week, but overall, I will not be enrolling my kids here simply for the fact that the teachers are doing things behind the directors back. Had it not been for that, I would've been happy to enroll my kids into this daycare as they had a lot of good programs for the kids.

Finally we decided that he needed to get back into the school setting so my wife did some research. Our first impression was great, and we ultimately decided to enroll our son with them. We enrolled him for their summer program mainly to get him acclimated to the school setting before starting the first grade there in the fall. He was happy to be going the first day I dropped him off, which was such a huge relief given the previous school experience. Moreover, when I asked him later that night if he had a good day at school, he told me, "No, I had a bad day." I thought, "Oh great, not again," but my wife told me it was because he was upset that he had to leave when she went to pick him up. I am glad that my wife has found this school, and that they truly live up to their name. It was such a huge relief to find out that Children's Resource has all the resources my son needs to thrive in a school setting. Not only that, they are more than willing to work with you and any with other resources you have obtained outside of the school's network.

So even though your child would be attending 17.5 hours less a week than one attending full time you are only getting a discount of $15 a week. How does that make any sense? I figured it was a typo on their information and called to verify and they confirmed that the pricing was correct. The lady working there could not explain the pricing structure even though she agreed that it didn't make sense. Most comparable schools in the area are about $400-$500 a month for full time students so this place is way more expensive than most. With so many other schools out there with more reasonable pricing and pricing structures there is no reason to pick this one.

This was the first school my child attended and in the few weeks she was there she started exhibiting aggressive behaviors she never displayed prior to attending. She started hitting, scratching, pinching, and pushing. They use covid as the reason to not allow parents to set foot in the school so you never know what is going on in your kids class and can never see or communicate with the teachers. Teachers are supposed to message you daily and give you updates but I was lucky if I got one photo a day and many days I got no updates on my child and 80% of my messages to the teachers would go unanswered. I brought this up to the director and she shrugged it off. When your child is too young to talk, this is NOT okay. This school does not care how sick kids are as they never send them home. Every time I looked through her classroom window or got a photo I saw kids visibly sick with green mucus running down their noses or coughing/ sneezing non-stop. Yes, I know that it is normal for kids to get sick when starting school but this was another level of sick. Every 3-5 days my daughter was sick with something different, had to go to urgent care, and even got pink eye. I missed so much work staying home with her sick and then getting me sick that it defeated the purpose of paying for child care. The last straw was when my child was bitten by another kid. The bite was so hard you could still see the imprint of every tooth on my childs arm the next day. I should have been called immediately by the director. Instead I was sent a text message by teacher and it was treated like no big deal. I asked 3 separate times for the director to contact me about the incident and she never bothered to call me. I had to track her down and when I finally spoke to her on the phone she was very dismissive and acted like it was no big deal. The few times I was able to peer in my child class through the window I saw the kids playing with toys by themselves while the "teacher" was just there watching them. They do not provide enriching activities or play and teach the kids. They do the bare minimum and just supervise them. My daughter is now in a new school and the difference in her behavior is night and day. Aggressive behavior immediately stopped and she is excited to go to school and runs inside when she sees her teacher instead of crying and not wanting to let me go like she would do at Riverside.

The feeling I got today when dropping off my daughter, and her actually being okay with me leaving is beyond words. The teachers are AMAZING, warm and loving! When it came time to pick her up I was so excited and of course expected to find a happy toddler. The pick up experience didn't just meet my expectations... Sam was happy, excited to show me her new school! With Ms. Madelyn as the principal and Ms. Ubania, Ms. Xiomara and Ms. Adriana as teachers, they always showed me love, even when I came to them 14 years later all grown up and with a different life than what I did when I attended many years ago.
