Our second year competing was with K2, and the growth we've seen since then has been phenomenal. I have two girls who both compete and train here, and the training they receive is truly exceptional. The studio has clear rules that create a safe, structured environment, and as a parent, I appreciate the direction and consistency. They also re-evaluate and assess students regularly to ensure they're placed in the right classes, which shows how much they care about proper development. The technique taught at K2 is simply outstanding--far beyond what I've seen elsewhere. On top of that, they offer a wide variety of classes and training options, which is a huge bonus. I wouldn't recommend Brooklyn Dance Academy to a friend. My daughter was enrolled in the 2 year old…read moreSaturday morning class at 10a. I wouldn't recommend BDA for the following reasons: 1. The kids practice the same exact thing every weekend, same songs, same dances, with no variety at all. I would expect some sort of lesson plan that repeats every 2/4 weeks or something of the sort. After some time my daughter was no longer engaged in the classes and didn't even want to go to dance class because it wasn't exciting or engaging. 2. For months the classes would start 5/10 minutes late and end 5 minutes early. This was quite frustrating considering it was only a 30 minute class. I spoke to the owner about this issue and classes started to last 25 minutes instead. However, I would expect this to be the standard, not something that's only corrected with complaint. 3. Classes are canceled on short notice, today with less than an hour notice to class start time (and rather frequently). Yes a make up class is allowed mid week but some of us can't make class during weekdays. 4. Myself and a few other people arrived 15 minutes early for their first class only for no one to be at the front desk to help. I personally spoke with the owner the week of my daughter's first class and she said she would be in to help with the process. She was no where to be found and parents were calling the owner to figure out how to help onboard us. No hard feelings here, I just expect more professionalism and will continue elsewhere if my daughter would like to participate in dance again.

Dancing is definitely one of her LVE languages & so is mine‼ I first met Shavonne through the gym and she was our amazing & fun-loving ZUMBA instructor. All of her dance choreography, line dances & music selections are always LIT & FIRE She embodies PURE JOY, a radiant LIGHT & SMILE & she's an inspiration to me & everyone she encounters! Many of my guests really enjoyed her ZUMBA & salsa dance lessons. Most of all, they said she was very easy to follow! She truly brought out the true inner dance DIVA out of all of us and she definitely knows how to work the room! WOWWWW this is HUGE! (Musical Theater 1, Musical Theater 2, tap 1, tap/ballet , jazz and HipHop)He went from a boy with anxiety to this confident performer. He was in his second musical Mary Poppins this past weekend. To see him perform with the biggest smile made me cry. He was confident and was so excited about the show. The show was AMAZING!!!!!!!!It's been great watching not just my son but many of the cast members just grow in theater. Thank You Mr.Frank and Mrs.Yesenia for bringing out the best in my son. He himself thanked them after the show for teaching him the songs and the choreography. All his teachers are all wonderful , Mrs.Megan , Miss. Larissa, Miss. Jenna, Miss. Jack , thank you ALL for not giving up on my son. A special shout out to Miss. Jack. Andrew wanted to try tap. Since the class has been practicing for a few months Andrew felt discouraged since they were already learning the song that they will be performing on the summer showcase. After trying the class he didn't want to continue since he was just starting and felt lost. Miss Jack told him she sees his talent and he can do it. She told him to come back the next week and try again. He tried again and he felt that he couldn't do it. Miss.Jack told him to think about it , she believes in him, if he still don't feel comfortable he can enroll after the summer showcase and start from the beginning. She was very sweet to him. On our way home he decided he wanted to continue!!! His words " mom , Miss.Jack believes in me. I want to take her class , I can do it " He's doing amazing. She knew how much he did want to take her class and encouraged him. I can't wait to see him on stage in June for the summer showcase. I also want to give a shout out to the parent volunteers.They're very helpful, it was so nice to hear from them how Andrew has grown so much in theater. Another shout out to Kyle , the front receptionist for being helpful and answering my million questions haha. Us parents don't just cheer for our kids we cheer for all the kids. I am thankful I found Valverde. They have help mold my son in this confident , happy , positive young performer. Can't wait to see him continue growing in theater !! We can automatically tell the difference in passion and customer care he genuinely sounded caring and professional!! On the day of our trail our daughter was super excited and eager to dance just walking in we felt welcomed!! The receptionist on duty when we walked in ( I'm so sorry I forgot her name) was super sweet and informative she again helped with any concerns or questions we had. She also invited us in to see a class that was already in session to give us a preview of what we could expect. Our daughter's class that day consisted of only two other dancers which in all honesty was perfect for a trial, her instructor was able to really work with her and get to know her personally. She was so sweet and caring to our daughter. We could not be happier!!! After class we went in and introduced ourselves to her and asked her opinion on how the trial went she had all positive comments and invited us to trial her Saturday class because she felt it would be a better fit for our daughter. That to me was everything!!! She showed genuine interest in our daughter's success with the studio!!! We never felt pressured to sign a contract or pay to save a spot and that is what makes this place a true Gem!! They are very true to there advertised "family environment" all staff was beyond kind and sweet to my Mimi dancer and my little 7 month cheering on his sister. We are blessed to have found such an amazing studio and will definitely be joining this beautiful family!!!
