I found this place on Yelp one day searching for something to do with the girls other than a typical Saturday night out for drinks. Came across this place had great reviews and decided to give it a try. I had such an amazing time. The instructor Katherine was very patient and down to earth. Surprised this place hasn't been added on Yelp. This is one of Brooklyn's best kept secret! (Disclaimer: I Do NOT work for them) Came here on a Friday night at 7pm (more like dragged here for a birthday event), was terrified once I heard this event involved painting (horrible at all things art). This spot was welcoming, with one staff member on hand, place was already filling up with small parties of 4, 6, and one of 7--all 20 something year-olds. After about 45 mins of everyone drinking and relaxing, we all got seated at the easels, handed some paint, and the fun began. Instructor #2 came around after 8 and both were patient, fun, animated, and extremely helpful. Everyone loosed up and had a good time. We all became more social after trying to compare paintings, laughing at some but mostly marveling at others. At the end, I can say this was the best party event I've been to in a long time. I highly recommend it to all couples, groups of friends, coworkers, bday pre-gaming celebrations etc. Everyone will have a good time regardless of your skill set! read more

I had an awesome birthday painting experience at Party Place For U! I found this place via Groupon. For $25 you get a two hour painting class with a BYOB. Basically Booze painting! Katherine the primary instructor, was very helpful from start to finished! Very friendly and flexible! Painters were seated in a mini lounge area to drink up and have complimentary muffins while Kathrine sets up. Hip- hop and top 40 records played in the background as we geared up for the class. Wow our experience at TW Painting with Friends was so grand it moved me to write a review :) Where do I start? The location was private, secure and quite. Katharine was very professional, attentive and patient. Our group was small which was perfect because it allowed her and her staff/family to engage with us all and add some finishing touches none of us thought about. Making an appointment was super easy, they offered a discount and Katharine has some great music in her collection. We sang, danced and swayed to the music as we painted. It was the day of my birthday I saw TW Painting with Friends online. I texted Katherine to reserve my spot and they just so happened to have a holiday promotion going on where I was able to get the class for only $40! Katherine was really polite and helpful as we texted back and forth. I appreciated her efforts to make the reservation work for me. When I arrived, the room was huge and colorful with a ton of sample artwork that was done by the staff. It had such a cool artsy feel to it. I met with Kate and her adorable son Daniel and the paint nite began as I was the only guest there for the night. Kate let me look at any of the samples I wanted to recreate and offered to sketch something for me. In the end I went with the simplest "art work" I could do which is dots and spirals. Kate helped me choose colors and even worked alongside me, painting her own bowl of an under the sea theme with a clown fish! The night was filled with fun conversation and the best music from 90's R&B. I loved it! I honestly cannot say enough how wonderful Kate and Daniel were. I thought it would be rough since I was going to this event solo but they were funny and full of interesting stories! They were really sweet and complimented my work, though i know they were just being polite haha. Kate gave me great direction and I don't think my bowl would have come out as nicely without her help. At the end of painting, I filled my bowl with soil and plotted a plant of my choosing. I was then able to add little pearls and colored sand to give my soil and plant a little oomph! We took pictures, which Kate sent me and I was able to show off to friends and family my artistic skill. The quality of the photos were top notch, as Kate is not only a painter, but also an amazing photographer! I am so pleased with the end result of my terrarium, but more so that I was able to meet Kate and Daniel and have such an experience. I would go again and recommend this to everyone! read more
