    Apricot peach smoothie.

Very hard to categorize this business. Part music school, part coffeehouse and part performance space. Have been here a couple of times. Most recently we were here to see our friend's band preform. The space is small so acoustics are never a problem. Getting a seat though is a bit of one. For the performances they never seem to have enough seating and I am too old to stand for that long. Love the little bar/food area they have. They do a really mean grilled cheese! Hubby is always happy that he can get a cool craft beer. Most recently I opted for a smoothie. I had wanted a strawberry banana that was listed on the menu board but they had no strawberries. Hubby made the executive decision to get me an apricot peach one instead. It was darn good and bursting with flavor. I would get one again. Service though, at the bar, is always very slow.

Came for a latte and enjoyed the ambience. It was after-school time, rainy. A mix of parents, kids and coffee drinkers. The barista did his best at latte art, smiled at his failure and turned over a quite good latte.

Five words: create your own grilled cheese. I could stop there and I should just stop there (because it is "enough said"), but I'm not going to. The atmosphere is fantastic. I've been in the market for a good coffee shop for awhile. I've tried Brothers K, Dollop, Ravinia Coffee Station, and bunch of other coffee shops. And as much as I think Brother K and Dollop are legit coffee shops, this one takes the cake for me. Their baristas are friendly. I feel like I found a home, it's a great place just to relax and read a book. They are three blocks from the Glenview Public Library, their menu is written on the back of guitars, they roast their own coffee, they have live music, a couch, vinyls, and booze...I mean, what else can you want? Oh and I do have to say that their couch is very comfortable. Their chai latte is amazing as well.

Come for breakfast and stay through dinner! There's a new multi-purpose coffee house in town, and you'll want to keep an eye out for it. You don't want to miss going to Glenview's newest addition--Rock House (the third location for this establishment). It's a bit unassuming from the outside, but stop in and you'll be whisked away by the inviting staff and *note*worthy decor...especially that pretty pearly drum kit in the middle of the room. Rock House is a neighborhood coffee house with a lot of offerings, and I'm not just talking about the fantastic espresso (according to Rich C) and my personal favorite, the nutty roasted vanilla latte...delicious! Yes, it's a great place to gather with friends and colleagues with it's easy parking lot next door, but you can shop for record albums, sign up for music classes, and enjoy a live show in the evening. They have a simple small menu, but you can start with oatmeal for breakfast, order up a Bon Jovi or Willie Nelson build-your-own grilled cheese sammie for lunch, and stay for Barnaby's pizza by the slice and beer for dinner and/or a show. They also have their own coffee roaster, so don't forget to pick up a bag of beans on the way out. Great family-owned business, fabulous southern exposure lighting to warm any cold winter morning, and free WiFi! What more can you ask for?

I am so pumped that a real coffee house has opened in the Glenview/Northbrook area and I find it quite funny that it's down the street from Glenview Grind (GG). I tried GG a couple times and the coffee there was just awful and service was subpar. On the other hand upon stepping into Rock House on a Saturday morning, you're embraced with a live band and cheerful, friendly baristas. Rock House is really neat because it's a coffee shop and roaster in addition to being a music school, music venue, AND bar. I ordered a caramel soy latte and it was pretty good! It definitely could have used some more caramel in it but overall I was satisfied with my choice. Their prices are comparable to all other coffee shops and I will definitely be back to try more of their drinks and enjoy the live music.

    The owners do rock!!!!

We had a great time at Rock House and found it to be a fantastic place to unwind and rock out! Rock House is a great independently owned coffe house that incorporates the passion of its owners, the love of music! With that being said Rock house has a number of jam rooms that guests can use to jam with friends or simply take lessons to improve the rock skills. Along with the jam rooms they also have a great rack of records from Lover Boy to Cream and the Stones. This place is all about Rock, and let me tell you Rob and Criss know how to do that! But Rock house is more than the music it's an atmosphere that is true to its soul and from the minute you walk in you will know your at home. It's a place to grab a beer or a coffee and really enjoy the atmosphere. But just to be clear this is not a soulless Starbucks this is the Rock House! The live music is awesome, open mike night, karaoke night it's all good. Simply said Rock House is awesome!

Must check out this place! This is a great neighbor coffee shop in Glenview. I don't like the rock taste and I had avoided trying this place, but I think it is the best coffee shop in Glenview so far! Surprisingly, coffee was great! Latte was great flavor and beautiful. Staff was nice and friendly! Lots of seats available. It was a good place to work and study with free wifi. I came here on Friday afternoon and family karaoke night had started at 6:30pm, so I got out of here, but i had a good time here.

We came for the Friday Family karaoke night. The kids just loved it! They found their inner rock star on stage! Good song selections and a great, family friendly evening. The pizza is so-so, but the youngsters will gobble it up. A grilled cheese and roasted pepper sandwich was fine. Lots and lots of pepper - a bit too much for my taste. The wine pours are very generous. We were here for the singing, not the dining, so the average food was ok for us.

I sometimes like to go get coffee with my friend at this rock house location. The coffee is good. Service is very well too. Lots of comfortable seating. I especially like the cappuccino. I enjoy listening to whomever they have playing. So go for the coffee but stay for the jam session!

    Grilled cheese. Yum!

Rock House was terrific. Me and Taylor M. were in the area, and had time to stop in for a coffee and a quick snack. I got my usual mocha latte, and we shared a grilled cheese. The latte was good, but the grilled cheese was delicious. While we waited for our sandwich, we walked around and took the private rooms, where you can take private music lessons. While we ate we listened to some great music, and looked at the beautiful guitars hung on all the walls. I was surprised to see tha they were all for sale! I would definitely recommend Rock House for a brunch or lunch spot, especially if you like rock music!

There's a full service bar and various seating spots you can enjoy before and after the show and during intermission. The theater is cozy with 60 seats. During this divisive political climate we are currently in, it was a refreshing perspective of politics and government. Everyone laughed throughout the entire show. The parking was a little crowded for a Sunday night so my father dropped us off at the door and parked the car while we ventured inside. We got the warmest greeting from the person behind the desk who gave us instructions on how we could write our own shout outs to be read by the cast. (Probably more relevant to the patrons of the theater than the building itself, but they were a range of hilarious, heartwarming, and professionally personal!) There were free cookies available as well as a full bar menu. I don't drink so I always scope out the non-alcoholic options and I could have gotten a can of Diet Coke for $2--not bad! I did see that they did offer a curated drink that matched the show as well. I appreciate when small details like that are accounted for! I personally did not use the bathroom, but multiple members of our party did and I did not hear any complaints. The theater itself was very small, but it made sense for the show that we were attending? I am deathly curious (Pun not intended) to see how they will pull off Dial M for Murder in that space. I saw it in Oakbrook on a sprawling stage so my brain couldn't fathom how that would work. Anyhoo! Back to what I actually DID see. Again, the set worked for the show that we did see. It had a cool foley studio like I imagine radio stations did back in the day. My favorite contraption was the one that spun with a handle to sound like wind! So cool! The seats were black, plastic, chairs which I did not mind because I have proper posture. I didn't feel uncomfortable at any point during the 2 hour show. My grandma is shorty and had a hard time seeing at times, but luckily a radio play is more about what you hear over what you see. For your reference when picking seats, the the first row of every pair is the front row of another level. So Row A and Row B share a platform if that makes sense. Overall, I had a wonderful time (Again, pun not intended) and I signed up for the mailing list in the hopes that I can support again soon!

My youtube obsessed daughter somehow discovered City Kid Theatre's "make your own youtube video"…read moreclass. I looked into it and noticed she was a few years too young (starts at 9 years old), but instead sold her on a "make your own music video" party here instead. After chatting with Kerry on the phone I booked it, but when I brought my daughter to check it out she was beyond excited about this magical little theatre. There's not much to the place besides a stage and a small room next to it (which they use as the party room), but it's so incredibly charming. Kerry showed my daughter videos of parties they've done in the past and their costume closet....and she started counting down the days til her party. The party arrived and it didn't disappoint. The party planner in me can't help, but go all out when it comes to my kids birthday parties so we've had some amazing ones thru the years, but this one may have just been my favorite. The girls danced, sang (karaoke style), played freeze dance, ate and celebrated my daughter's bday. While all the girls had a great time, I think Kerry did a really great job of making the birthday party girl feel so special. I've never seen her smile so big especially when they put her in a large birthday cake costume. Because apparently the only thing better than eating birthday cake is wearing it. Since we were making a music video to "Shake it Off" (my daughter's pick) I hired Taylor Swift to stop by the party with the help of Melissa's Royal Princesses. The party would have been amazing without Taylor, but think she was the icing on the cake that make it extra special for a bunch of starstruck 2nd grade girls. A week later we received our video, which you can view below. It's an amazing keepsake that I know my daughter & her friends will treasure for a long time. The lighting itself could have been better on the video, but everything else was the perfect way to celebrate turning 8. I highly recommend for a bday party (good space for up to 20ish kids) and I look forward to checking out their other theatre programs in the future. Each person can adjust his/her level of intensity for their own work out so even if the cardio routines are fast paced, you can "personalize" your pace by knowing what your body is capable of doing. The studio is always neat, the instructors are professional and friendly, and all the members are nice too. I always feel amazing and accomplished after every class and I actually look forward to working out. The only downside for me is that when I can't make it to the only class that would fit my schedule, specially in the afternoon, then bye-bye work out for me for the day.
