My mom, who came in with me, couldn't resist either and ended up buying some gorgeous bird figurines to put on her mantle at home. I'm still obsessed with this little hen candy dish I saw there that I did not end up buying, and a beautiful wooden pheasant, and some ceramic ducks, and... can you tell we like birds? I wish I'd taken photos but sadly I was too distracted. The main room isn't all... there is plenty more to see. Recent purchases from here were stencils kits purchased as a gift for a young man in the hospital and he loved them. I purchased two games recently Yahtzee and chess and picked up curbside. The chess set is well made with durable pieces and a great value. Before the pandemic, it was a fun store to browse in and look at the variety of vintage and modern toys. Greeted by a friendly and helpful young lady who answered all our questions. I loved the atmosphere and overall vibe. I found a cool book on the Songbirds of North America with a disk of actual songs. There are plenty of books to browse through and the prices are very reasonable. My only complaint by my sister was no database to assist in the search, but I was okay as I enjoyed perusing the shelves. Will be back !!!

I have been disappointed 4/5 times because I show up when the website AND the had written sign on the door say they are open, but instead they are closed... I think this is the last time I make the trip just to be met with a locked door. It made me feel like a standard comic book shop you see on tv - a very sexist promotion of sexualized women. In the poster section, there's a gorgeous Psyloche poster...except for how it tries to center and show off her butt and Venus mound with just a slim piece of fabric. There are other hyper sexualized posters of women in comics...and then real women scantily clad like I'm in a teenage boy's (or drunken frat guy's) room. Next to the posters is a drawn pin-up against 'censorship' with the woman's nipples poking out so hard it could take an eye out. By the new comics, there's more drawn pin-up art. Like...so skeevey and clearly the owner doesn't realize how many women read comics? U G H. The good parts that made it so I won't nuke this review (so tempting tho): - it's locally owned - located in sylvania which doesn't have that much - walls are covered with back issues, art, and many collectible toys. - bins and bins of older comics - good variety of new comics There does seem to be a lot of focus on DC/Marvel, but there are some other publishers located. I'll return again to give it another try; I was there for 20 minutes and still hadn't looked at everything. A girl greets me and says it's going to be a few minutes if I want to look around As I am waiting she pulls out every album and checks them. A few minutes later this dude looks through my albums. She says to the other employee "most of them look okay" He Hands one back to me and offers me $5. I was so confused and responded I don't know what you're talking about I'm just trying to buy these. They both apologized and looked shocked. Then when she rings me out she charged me $1 for the .25 cent record he refused to take! It's just odd they both downgraded the albums and then argued about the priceI was trying to BUY from them. Anyway I still bought them. Support Local Businesses.

Having previously been a very vocal advocate of this place (even to the point of bringing people to…read moresee it), sadly I have to retract my support. Roughly 9 months ago I purchased a very large, rather expensive pocket door. I saw termite damage on the bottom & commented on it at the time, but I thought it was limited to just that spot. I did not inspect thoroughly enough, however. The project I purchased it for was extensive & I had a delay (the birth of a child will do that), but I stored it on blocks with care. Finally, I got to the part where I would hang the door. In cleaning it, I actually punched two holes through it due to MUCH more extensive termite damage than I had assumed. I found a number of other spots that were almost certainly infested previously. I contacted the company to seek an exchange. The best they would offer was half off a new door (about $350). We reluctantly offered up to $200, but were refused. Note that they still had the same doors now that they did 9 months ago, so this isn't a hot item flying out the door on a common basis. While they carry an array of really interesting stuff, make certain to inspect your purchase with a magnifying glass & be prepared to eat your investment. As for me, that will be my last trip to their shop & I'll also be telling everyone I know: BUYER BEWARE! UPDATE: I decided to try to salvage what I could with the intent of putting windows in the panels. After removing the trim, I'm rethinking that. Just in case anyone thinks this might have occurred in my home, note how extensive the damage is in the 4th & 5th pictures! UPDATE 2: In response to the owner, the termite damage on the bottom WAS noted & discussed. It was why I contemplated one of their other doors. What's more, the person loading the door actually broke off a piece of the trim from the bottom (the upper right in the first picture) & commented on the termite damage directly. Stupidly, i said it seemed to be isolated only to that one area .So... No, that is absolutely a lie on their part. Further, I have pest control come in as a preventative measure (& no, not anywhere near monthly as that wouldn't make any sense). Since we had some damage long before we occupied the house, that seemed like a wise move. No active termite tunnels were found in our home nor in the door. Again, I loved this place before, told everyone who would listen about it, & I'm a huge Toledo business promoter. But now I have to advise otherwise: use them only if you're absolutely willing to eat your investment.
