For my main, I ordered the traditional Philly cheesesteak with tater tots. Wow. It was large, cheesy, and absolutely overflowing with veggies, everything you want in a proper cheesesteak. I'd give it an 8.9/10 easily. The tater tots were also a hit -- crispy, fresh, and the perfect side. I will definitely be back for this combo alone. My fiancé went with the 8-piece lemon garlic wings, and unfortunately, that was the one letdown of the visit. He found them to be pretty tasteless and ended up adding salt to compensate, a 2/10 for him on the wings. However, he did love the fries, which looked and tasted incredibly fresh. What really made the experience special was the atmosphere. Our server knew regulars by name, the kitchen staff were joking with each other, and the whole place had a warm, family-feel vibe that you just can't manufacture. When we mentioned our disappointment with the wings, our server was gracious about it and suggested we come back to try a different style, great customer service! Would we return? Absolutely, even if just for the cheesesteaks. Spanky's is a local treasure and we can't wait to come back!

I have made several visits, I wanted to be sure of myself before I reviewed…read more I loved every visit, every bite, every interaction. The cheeses is everything anyone could ask for from a traditional steak. All the to the very last bite of the amazingly fresh sandwich was delightful.. their wings were cooked expertly and were well sized. I tried a mix of medium hot and garlic Parmesan. Excellent combo, everyone should try. Last but not least, the Rueben Philly...excellent! There were no words to explain exactly how much I enjoyed it. This dish alone is work five stars! I will be back...soon... The 80's rock coming from the speakers fits the establishment. I am sure from the decor that the music is as original as the establishment.

Description We can across this place, well my husband did on…read moreIG a few months back of someone showing the cheesesteaks so we finally got a chance to go. As soon as you walk in you smell the smell of pizza. We were greeted by the owner who was kind and we had conversation with. He mentioned how he from Maine and his family has been in the restaurant business as well as himself for basically his whole life. Once you walk in there's a cashier where you can order and to the right there's a fridge with water sodas and different root beers you can get as well. Once you order there's an entrance to the left with tables and arcade games with tables where you can sit and dine in. I appreciate everything you did for us brian and it was a pleasure meeting you and getting to try the food your restaurant offers. We will be returning again due to the deliciousness of the food we tried the drive from Miami was worth it. What I ordered/tried From Brian's Boston beef sandwiches part of the menu we had north shore 3 way beef Boston beef. This is not my to go choice but it was amazing I would actually go back to try this again. My husband loved it and so did I. It's a bit spicy like very mild where you feel the spice but not where you're regretting life and needing to drink something. We also tried the Philly cheesesteak. This was definitely worth it as well. My husbands stated to being on a mission for the best Philly cheesesteak which is why we ended up here and says this is first spot at the moment and I don't disagree. We also tried the Batman and robin which is like the Philly cheesesteak but it has chicken in it as well. This was as delicious. The truffle fried with garlic aioli was a hit as well and finally two desserts a strawberry cheesecake and chocolate cake made by his wife who is a pastry chef. Both were good but the chocolate cake was *chefs kiss*. Value The value for the food is comparable to other places. Nothing expensive or out of this world and worth the size of food received. Ambiance/Crowd We went mid rain so it wasn't full people were mostly doing pick up or to go orders from what I saw. It's a casual place so leggings jeans is a good attired. There are a few arcade games that can be played including a two player pac man game. Service The service was great? Expectacular? Amazing? These words don't even describe the amazing service we received. We met and spoke to Brian (sorry for not know the spelling) who is the owner and from Maine who spoke to us a little bit about the opening of wicked cheese steak and was very nice to have conversation with. The two workers in the kitchen were kind as well. Parking The restaurant is part of a shopping center so there is free parking we went kind of during the rain so the lot was fairly empty but I'm not sure how it would be on a normal day. 6 year olds thought corner He got some chicken tenders. He says they were delicious. My husband tried a bite of them too and said they were good.

**Frustrating Experience at Philly Down South Café**…read more I visited Philly Down South Café on Hutchinson Island twice today, and both times I was left waiting. The first visit, I stood for over 10 minutes without a greeting, so I left. I thought I'd give it another shot, but again, I was ignored for another 10 minutes while waitstaff walked by, making eye contact but failing to acknowledge me. No "We'll be with you shortly," nothing. This is unacceptable service. I wanted to try their cheesesteak, but after this experience, I won't be coming back. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.

Took an hour and a half to get our food - 2 Philly cheesesteaks and an order of onion rings - and only got the food when we did because I flagged down the inattentive waitress. The cheesesteaks tasted like scraping off of the grill - one piece of onion, no peppers and no mushrooms. If there was cheese, I couldn't taste or see it. The onion rings were cold and hard as a rock. Sent the onion rings back. The waitress asked if we wanted a fresh order and we said yes. I'm pretty sure the cook threw the same onion rings back into the fryer and sent them back to us. They were horrible! Told the waitress the onion rings were horrible, so she took it of the bill, but she had an attitude the rest of the night - took a drink order and kind os slammed the bottles on the table. Won't be going back there.

HUGE PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS…read more.. This sandwich shop is in a busy Publix plaza surrounded by several other restaurants and today we finally tried it. The ordering was simplified by a chart on the front counter which depicted a classic Philly Cheesesteak with sizes outlined at 5" 8" 10" and the behemoth 18" which was the best size vs price at $22.49. They cut the sandwich in half, which was plenty of food for me and the wife. We chose the optional green and red wet peppers. Took a nice pic of the Philly creation on the sizzling flat grill. We took a seat and waited about five minutes for this beautiful Philly to arrive at our table, served by the chef which was a nice touch. The Philly was absolutely amazing. The meat was cut thin and retained the perfect amount of juice surrounded by the gooey cheese. The red peppers were spicy so buyer beware. This was a top 3 Philly for me. The bathroom had nice white tiled walls and cement industrial weathered flooring. The picture on the wall displayed people on the beach holding Capriotti's sandwiches and drinks. The only issue was the door to the men's bathroom would not lock and the women's bathroom did not have toilet paper, although both very clean. The strength of the sandwich and the counter girl, Jesse's personality, will push this rating to five stars.
