The dining room was already pretty full when we arrived, but the hostess kept things moving and got us seated faster than expected. The French toast was soft without being soggy, and the pork chops were cooked well with good seasoning. Coffee refills came quickly, which honestly made the wait for food feel shorter. Our server stayed friendly through the whole meal even with several large tables nearby needing attention. Very nice breakfast spot. Our table ordered a variety off of the menu. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a toasted croissant. It was good and a hefty portion that I was not able to finish. The server attending to us, as well as others in the restaurant were very pleasant. The cost of the food deserves FIVE stars alone considering the amount of food you get for the price. I simply cannot say enough about Banyan Tree. This place is an absolute gem. We were passing through yesterday on a motorcycle trip and stopped in for breakfast. A small locals kind of place with a walk up window for to go orders as well as a full service diner. My husband had a pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon that he said was average if not good. I got the biscuits and gravy and that was excellent! The best I have had at a restaurant in years. There was actually sausage in it and seasoned perfectly. The service was friendly and efficient. This was an great experience, I had a feeling this place was going to be spectacular, unfortunately the cook is in a rush to get the food out, once they got round to doing some work... But is there ever an excuse for clear raw egg whites on an over easy egg... I had the Fish, Grits and Eggs after the waitress suggested it. Other than the above, it was just good. The Corn beef hash was just heated, not crisped up when we asked for well done. Home fries were just fried potato cubes. Coffee was good! Our first experience at the Banyan Tree was very good. The restaurant was very busy during lunch. A nice mix of customers and the staff was very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean and orderly. The food is "soul food" with plenty of "soul" to heighten your taste buds. I have been eating soul food for over 25 years and this food definitely ranks high on my list! There are very few places in Belle Glade that have good food. The Banyan Tree is not one of those because it has great food. I was introduced to the Banyan Tree while waiting for my car to be serviced in Belle Glade. I fell in love with the food from them on. I live in Orlando but living in the Keys while working on a project in that area. Whenever I'm heading back to either place I try to stop to pick up takeout. My favorite is the smothered chicken wings with Mac n Cheese and Greens! I've eaten inside the one time and take out 3 times since and have never been disappointed! I just wish I could move them to Orlando! read more

I am fed up with the customer service at this restaurant. If you ever call to place a pick up, the phone has poor connection and you can hardly hear the person on the line. In addition, it always loud, and some of the workers are very unprofessional to have side conversations while on the phone taking orders. When I have placed phone orders (which is rare since I can hardly ever get through), I am told my order will be ready in 15-20 minutes. Instead, it takes another 10-15 minutes more of waiting once I arrive. I'm not sure if this business is under new management or what, but I have vowed to never spend another dime at this business until the customer service, attentiveness and professionalism gets better from the workers.
