We had people who liked different things and different amounts of wine, so this was a great way to kind of leave us to do our own thing. It also seemed to work really well since they were busy, as we always had wine at our table and were never sitting around waiting. When we did speak to the staff, they were really helpful and kind. You can tell they love what they do! The ambiance here is next level. They are way beyond all the spaces nearby in terms of vibes. It's located in the warehouse district, so there are many other wineries nearby and ample parking. A standard tasting costs $15 but is refundable with a $30 purchase. What makes these wines unique are that they are "fruit-forward." Jonathan educated us extensively about the Robert Ramsay wines and provided an excellent experience while we tasted their selection. Every wine I have tried I have truly enjoyed; my current favorites are the Par La Mer and the Mourvedre. The wines are mainly red they serve, there was a Rose and I have heard rumblings there will be a white wine in the next year or two. Their wines are affordable but taste like high-end wines. Really they could easily charge more for the wines because they are definitely worth it. This isn't your typical mom and pop tasting room you can find in Woodinville. The tasting room has a modern feel that is welcoming. The staff in the tasting room are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. The one thing I am really appreciative of is how they treat their customers. For being in my early 20's I have been treated horribly by other tasting rooms nearby because I am younger, never have I been treated this way at Robert Ramsay. I actually feel welcomed inside and never get the feeling like I am being ignored. There are definitely a couple of tasting rooms in the area that don't want to be bothered with anyone under the age of 50! Also I did have wine shipped recently and I was very pleased at how quick it was shipped by the tasting room. Literally it was sent out with in two days and arrived in Florida by the end of the week. I was super impressed with how fast and well packaged the wine shipment was for a case of wine.

We've been to many wineries and breweries in Woodinville. Of the dozens we've visited over the…read moreyears we've only encountered one place that was not pet friendly, and that was because they had a full service restaurant inside. The tiny amount of limited canopes that Bunnell was serving was not enough to require them to ban pets, but they did anyway. How do I know? Virtually all of their nextdoor neighbors had some variation of the same appetizer menu but were pet friendly. Western WA is a very pet friendly business culture, I'd highly advise this winery to understand their market better. Now to the wines. As you can see from the attached photo there were two tasting flights offered to Woodinville wine pass holders. My wife and I wanted to try both so each of us got a different one. The staff were fairly friendly and answered all of our questions. The wines were very disappointing, especially for the price. Several of them tasted off in the sense that the noses were quite harsh and in some cases extremely alcoholic almost as if you are expecting fortified wine or brandy, and then the taste did not follow up anything like that. The body and finish of the wines we're decent but the horrible nose on several of them was bizarre and strange, I have never encountered anything like it. Given the prices we did not feel that this was a good value and we could not understand what was going on. I don't think the wines were corked but we could not understand the strange smell coming off of them. It is of note that the wines here were older than what you would typically see at a tasting room, I'm not sure if this is only because they had been cellared longer, or were part of a reserve selection business model, however it may have had something to do with how alcoholic their aromas presented. The most extreme examples were the ALX, the Scion and the Vestige. The chardonnay was actually decent given the neutral oak they had used, but we prefer stainless, plastic or concrete for whites, as wood often overpowers chardonnay, even old French oak. The price was not bad but we're not really chardonnay fans so if we're going to get it it has to be amazing. And I've had amazing chard bottles for 12-15$.

I hadn't done any research prior to coming in to meet up with friends and learned they specialize in brandy specifically. Naturally I ordered the Fab 4 tasting board. The Baton was my favorite. Smooth, clean and warmed my soul on the first taste. The Baco was also tasty with a more robust flavor and warmth. Rakomelo- I did not read the tasting notes as I was chatting and was caught off guard with the strong cinnamon punch! It didn't give the warming sensation that the Baco did- was more of a cooling sensation that surprised me. The Hazy Syrah gave me port vibes. Full and juicy flavor. I wish I took pics of my friends' cocktails because they looked so fun. You will just have to go in and see for yourself! I later read a review that indicated they have pizza here but I did not see a food menu or anyone with food. They did provide a small snacking bowl of potato chips and we each received a Boehms chocolate with the bill, which I thought was a thoughtful touch.
