Three wines from other countries. One white and two reds. The white from France, one of the reds from France and the other from Spain. This is an amazing neighborhood spot right in Issaquah! I love going here for dinner and wine, but they also have a great selection to buy and discounts for buying 6 bottles. I have had a great time being part of their wine club as well and found some great selections! It's super convenient to have someone else pick wine and we haven't had a bad bottle. Wine club members also get some other great perks so if you live nearby you should definitely consider it. Highly recommend popping in for dinner or to grab a hostess gift! Wine: The poured Chardonnay only had two options one being a 1/2 bottle minimum purchase at $38, my choice was a cab at $18 (as well as my husbands.) I asked if we could purchase a bottle for sale and drink there. Response was yes but they have a corkage fee (opening wines from their own establishment) of $10. I guess this is what you get in Issaquah! Positives: customer service was very good and informative. They had a lot of wine for purchase. Yelp check in gives you 25% off menu items which came in handy when my bill was $90 before discount! Overall I would say maybe come here for a specific bottle of wine but not to eat or drink at this location. This place is laid back with high tables and stools, couches, long tables for bigger groups, and lots of standing room too. Their service is great and bread pudding is delicious! Capri Cellars is such a wonderful and well-ran place. The owners are so knowledgeable and helpful; excellent customer service. It's a nice place to relax and taste wine and they have delicious food. They also have a ton of unique wines to buy and they're happy and willing to help you find the right bottle for your taste. During covid they have spaced out tables inside, and we sat outside where they have an area carved out of the parking lot with a tent. All staff are masked as well as guests not eating at their tables. It felt very safe. Seriously wonderful business I highly recommend during and after covid. Avoid this place like the plague! We went in with high hopes left completely disappointed. The wait staff was Epically bad, I was not only pissed but embarrassed for the establishment . The first waiter didn't know a cab from chard and couldn't answer a single question. The second waiter wasn't much better but was more interested in watching tv and talking to themselves. It was awkward and weird. Zero professionalism that honestly cheapened the place. We enjoyed our overpriced wine flight and got out of there. BUYER BEWARE: $20 corkage fee on all wines that you buy IN THIS STORE and have opened there. Staff will not alert you of this charge until AFTER the bill arrives. \We got surprised on this after being presented with a lump sum bill which did not itemize our tab. That is right, the staff presented us with one bill that just stated the sum total price (over $200.00) and no line items. What kind of establishment just drops a $200+ bill on your table with nothing listed? When we requested an itemized bill we found there were corkage fees as no staff member had declared this to us when we bought the wine. Nasty surprise, no thank you. The intent of corkage fees is to allow customers to bring their own wine on site and partially compensate the business owner for this liberty. In this case, the wine is being bought at the establishment so a corkage fee is double dipping in the consumers wallet. Not telling customers about this corkage fee results in an unwelcome surprise at the end. The actions of the staff ALMOST make it seem they were hiding this fact from teh customer read more

Went to a "tasting" event there - they charged for a tasting fee even though another winery was pouring. Fee is credited towards wine but required a purchase. Seriously?! Read the response from the owner - they will be penny rich and pound poor. Besides, the distributor was paying for the wine so I don't even think they were on the hook for it. Cheap-o. Wineries do this for giving away their own wine, but wine shops should not and do not. Pete's (Bellevue), Seattle Wine Company (Bellevue), World of Wines and Bevmo (right up the hill) do weekly wine tastings, never charge. Same day, I headed up the hill to Matthew's Thriftway for a tasting (5 minutes away) - and food was included. And of course, no fee or pressure to buy. That was a turn off. read more

A modern feel with old world charm... I happened upon this lovely place via an Amazon local deal...Wine & Cheese Experience for two (a $50 value for $25). Not only was the service friendly and knowledgeable, the pairings themselves were unique and tasty. I wouldn't have thought to pair an Italian red with a creamy blue cheese but it totally worked! Also the marcona almonds served with the cheese were delightful. As usual, I always have to check out the bathroom facilities of any establishment and I'm happy to report that theirs were clean though somewhat sparsely decorated. One thing that struck me as odd was the placement of the fireplace, which wasn't really in the center of any particular seating arrangement. However the entire space was well set up with plenty of seating and without feeling too crowded or cramped. Though the wine collection wasn't huge, the variety and choice of what is in stock is excellent, with great attention paid to Washington and Oregon wineries. Over all, great value for the money. It's been hard to find a decent wine bar with nibbles on the east side. Capri is cute inside -- located in a dollar store shopping center was a bit of a "meh" but once you walk inside it's fine. The display of wines I think exceeds the ones you are actually tasting. Agreed with other reviews that in general it's overpriced for wines offered and the food. We tried the meatballs recently and they were an epic disappointment -- $12 got you mushy, gummy meatballs that tasted like the Ikea ones in a gluey BBQ sauce. Thank God they only gave us like 6 tiny meatballs. The burrata plate and charcuterie is better but again -- a trip to PCC or Whole Foods I can recreate all of these dishes for a fraction of the price. But even this aside, the service is extremely "blah." I get their shtick to not be pretentious, but the times we've gone it's borderline coming across like the staff barely care. Our service recently couldn't even tell us what the "mystery wine" selection was -- she kept having to go back to check. And God forbid you ask a question about the wines.... blank stares and nervous giggles in response. The new menu at Capri is unreal! The duck confit slider was very tasty and the homemade fingerling chips were really amazing! The burrata is my favorite thing on the menu. Capri's rotating wines by the glass are always new and keep us trying new things. The best part of Capri is the staff. They know their wine, and keep this local place fun and intimate. We didn't have any of the food, but saw some with some other people and it looked and smelled wonderful! I see that some of the other reviews complained about the bill not being itemized, but the owners must have listened to this complaint because our bill was itemized and our server asked if we had any questions about the itemization. The wine selection was excellent. I did a 6 wine tasting and I was able to choose the wines I wanted, or didn't want. The server took the time to answer my questions and explain some fun facts about each bottle. The prices are a bit high, but I feel like it was worth it. It was one of the worst experiences we have ever had at tasting wine and especially the way we were treated like third class citizens since we were younger and less experience than it looked like their older clientele. If I was a bald guy selling brownies; the lady made sure to wink and flirt with him. She also made the older couple there make sure they had everything and great service. We did not; maybe it was due to using a groupon that she reluckingly took. If you do not want groupon people than do not sign up for it. Treat all people the same with respect. Worst customer service and blatant disregard for us there as a couple that probably would have bought at least a couple of bottles.
