A beautiful place with spectacular views of the bay. They pretty much gave us run of the house and gave excellent recommendations of what to see and do (and not do) in the Homer area. The breakfasts were excellent and they waited on us like royalty. The rooms were very nice, clean with private bathrooms. We were here with our family (6 all together) and it worked out perfectly. And they dog Ness is a sweetheart as well. Very affectionate and well mannered. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

It was definitely unnerving to have a wild animal fly frantically over your head for about 45 minutes while he tries to get out. We stayed under our blanket until we couldn't hear him anymore and made a beeline out of there.. When we returned hours later the bat apparently was gone. When we brought it up to the owner she definitely made us feel like liars (we are definitely not, we visually saw the bat inside of the cabin.) and refused to apologize in the slightest. She made up all kinds of excuses and insisted there was no way for the bat to be inside our cabin. It was odd how she refused to even listen to our side of the story. Then she went on about how great they are for the environment, yaddayadda. We eventually had to say "Ok you have bats. Bye." just to get away from her arguing. It's really her responsibility to make sure that the cabin is well sealed so no bugs, bats or other vermin can get in. What really bothers me is her nonchalant attitude. Something that was supposed to be a quiet get away turned into a miserable experience and little sleep. If you do book a cabin with her, make sure she's fixed the issue with bats getting in. Other than that, cabin was clean and nice. Could have been a great stay.

Bathroom was back up those 5 steps. I thought it was cute and fun but difficult if you have trouble with stairs. Owners were nice and helpful. Breakfast was beyond amazing! All local and fresh. The mattresses were pretty firm. I didn't sleep well because of it while my aunt slept Very well on it. They were very firm mattresses. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. The husband and wife are awesome. Truly. BUT bro. Nah. So our room was the Kachemak room. And sure the view was great but literally 2 feet from the window was the damn entrance to the establishment INCLUDING the porch where people sit and drink. It was impossible to want to window open to enjoy the view as it was almost like Abigaile & I were in a zoo being viewed in through our window. No privacy at ALL and they failed to mention it. Also this building you can hear EVERYTHING. Literally. If someone coughed upstairs that will echo and wake you up. People walking around. Inconsiderate guests who stay up talking until 12 at night. No thank you man. It was to the point we left Homer a day early because truly it was a pretty bad experience. Sadly. The host are great. But the place is not what we wanted.

A spacious kitchen living and dinning room common area makes socializing a family affair. A great place for families and friends to stay easily accommodating 12 people. Well appointed with dishwasher, laundry and free wifi, the value for this place is a good one. Downstairs boasts a wonderful art gallery. Right next to the gallery is a coffee shoo and next to that is a great steak house. Views of the glorious mountains and bay, Old Town Bread and Breakfast is just a few minutes walk to the beach. A taxi ride from the airport cost $8.00. Minutes from the beach abundant with wild life including eagles! We has an amazing time and we will return!
