I went to Salon Twist under new ownership. I arrived 3 minutes late for my appointment (I phoned to say I would be a few minutes late because I was 1.9 miles away behind golf carts). However, the stylist was told 4 times I was waiting. First time, she would be right out. The second time, she was on the computer. Third time another stylist told her I was waiting. After waiting 23 minutes, I knew I should've left. I mentioned to the kind receptionist I had been waiting over 20 minutes. She replied she is speaking with the owner and has been waiting to speak to her. I then asked if I was her last appointment. Yes, okay she won't be rushed. I sat down to tell her what I wanted and showed a photo which she barely noticed. She wanted to cut my hair dry so she could see what she had cut. Okay, I now realize I should've left immediately (hindsight right?). I said no I want it washed and cut because I had my hair ruined with a dry cut before. She replied but 99% of my clients get dry cuts. As she was washing and pulling my hair we chatted. She was nice and personable. Another red flag, it was her first day at the salon after moving and she had to leave at 4 to pick up her kids. I was anxious Duce she hadn't made a cut. She cut my hair leaving it longer in the front than the back. I had said I do not like during my consultation (found out this when I got home because I wasn't shown the back of my hair at the salon) and after she cut my bangs incorrectly, she knew I was unhappy and pulled out a flat iron to straighten my straight bangs to cut more. I said no. She dried my hair some and said do u like it? I said no, it's flat on top and not what I expected at all. She dried it a little more leaving it frizzy then applied frizz spray but that didn't help. I went to pay and the congenial owner offered to have my bangs fixed on her once they grew out in a few weeks but they looked cute to her. Ah, not to me. I explained how my hair was cut in a limited time due to waiting over 20 minutes and she had to leave at 4, not cut I wanted and I was unhappy. I chatted with the owner a little. Yet, I was charged $95 ($10 more than the previous owner AND the posted price is $85) for a cut I didn't like by someone with less experience. I made an appointment with another stylist I had previously met and she spoke with me twice today. They were out of my product so I asked when they would be getting it in - no idea if they were ordering the new curl line. I will order it from Kerastase if you aren't going to sell it. I asked if trimming bangs were still free in between cuts, it's $15 and a $25 charge for canceled appointments within 24 hours.. So that's why the owner offered for it to be on her in a few weeks. I got home realized how messed up my length was and was so upset I put it in a bun only to discover I was left with huge pieces of original bangs that hadn't been cut on either side and extent of horrible it was. I explicitly explained to the receptionist and the stylist how I had my hair ruined twice before and wanted some one with experience when I had to change my appointment 2 weeks prior. I was reassured this other stylist was knowledgeable. I immediately called the salon to reschedule my next appointment for 2 weeks later than scheduled since my bangs and the length needed to grow in order for it to be corrected. I cut the wings off what was suppose to be my fringe bangs and leveled the front to match the length in the back. Originally, my appointment with another stylist I had met but had to delay due to Covid quarantine. I gave explicit instructions. I wish I would've followed my instincts today after waiting 23 minutes then realizing I was getting a rush job. Yes, I paid $95 plus a tip because I'm not unkind. However, I do expect to get what I pay for and proper customer service. After looking at my hair today, not only was the bottom not level, she did what explicitly said I could not tolerate, a thin bottom layer. Also, my layers are uneven on either side of my face. It's as if she cut one side and not the other. I asked her to shape my hair, clean up the ends overall and not take much off the length. It's the most butchered cut I've had since I found Gina. On the bright side it wasn't the micro banged mullet I got the last time my hair was ruined. I'm very upset to say the least. read more

I was greeted warmly, Everyone was wearing masks, the people working there are incredibly professional but personable and remembered me and my likes after just one visit. The owner is a gem and while she did my haircut the first time there was no territorial BS when my schedule aligned better with another stylist for a blow out the next week. The woman at the front desk is a dynamo and manages logistics like the pro she is. Kendall matched my outgrowth perfectly with a single process. I used to work on 30A for several years and went to this salon, but when my work changed, I decided not to drive the distance and went to other stylists closer to my home. MISTAKE. Some were OK, but inconsistent others were TERRIBLE and after I learned my lesson the hard way.....got an AWFUL cut and WORSE color, I knew what I needed to do....go back to the PROS. Helene did her magic on my hair and transformed a horrible mess into a fun, stylish, beautiful cut and color...I am so thankful for her talents. I was expecting the repair needed to my hair was going to take several visits, that's how bad my hair was, but Helene transformed me in one visit. I love this place. I always go to this place when I am in town. Before I moved to Vegas I used to go to Ashley DeJohn, she is amazing. Beautiful stylist who really listened to what I wanted. I have had terrible anxiety when it comes to trying a new stylist because I had such bad experiences before when I lived in Destin but she was awesome. I originally came to this place because I saw it on Elle Magazine. I live in Vegas now and just recently went back to get a cut with Meghan for the first time. She is great too. I asked for the standard beachy Victoria's Secret hairstyle with lots of volume and I got just that! I love my haircut so much I may have to visit more often because I have not had good luck in finding a good stylist in Vegas. Found this place because I was looking for a Kerastase salon. I drive an hour to come here. Ask for Sarah, she's talented and very friendly. There was a mistake in scheduling and she fit me in even when she had no more openings. You pay a little more at this salon compared to others, but it's worth it. I am new to the area and located Salon Twist for a haircut. I am extremely disappointment in my visit. I have never gone to a salon before where after the hair cut was "completed" - my hair was still wet...... I said after she said she was done - that I can't tell how you cut my hair because you didn't dry my hair and decided to put some kinda of "curl moose in it. She proceeded to say well - if you dry your hair and don't think you like the cut you can come back.... WHAT? I just paid a LOT of money for you to kinda cut my hair and not even dry it! I was vacationing in Sea Grove Beach when I thought I would go get my hair highlighted. I didn't have time before I left home so I did a Google search to find a good salon. Salon Twist had some good reviews, some not so good but I decided to give them a try. My appointment was with Sarah. As she was giving me my highlights, she was ripping clips out of my hair so hard I knew she was taking some hair with them. When I asked if she could be a little more gentle she got angry and asked if I wanted this done right? I was put under this heat device , and questioned why she was using heat? ( no one ever put my highlights under heat in all the years ive been having this done. Again she quipped " Wella hair color always goes under heat " As I sat there I could feel something burning my scalp. I flagged Sarah down and told her something was burning me. She checked the foils and said they were still brassy and I wasn't done yet. The burning got worse and she being even more irritated with me said " fine, lets take them off" After she cut my hair, she gave a 5 minute dissertation on why I needed to buy Kerastace products.( by the way they are 50 bucks a bottle ) When she left to round up half a dozen products for me, I ran my hand through my hair to see very large orange stripes in my hair. I was in tears. I asked if I could speak to a manager she said" Gina is the owner and she doesn't know anything about color". The bleed marks will grow out and everything will be fine" I went to the desk and my bill was over 500 dollars with the products. I refused to buy the overpriced products and left in tears. No one cared. The receptionist didn't even say a word. This place is a tourist trap Please don t make my same mistake. When I returned to D.C. I went to see my regular hairstylist. He said it looked like a beauty school student did this. He said , never, ever put hair color under a heat source. It fried my hair. He said the color expanded from heat and bled all over my scalp. I have to say that this salon is by far the most pleasant place to get your hair done. I found them shortly after moving down from Atlanta and have been with them ever since. I use Megan for color but have personally used Ashley and Leah as well. I love all of them. These girls are REALLY good at what they do and are very professional. I made an appointment for my wedding day months in advance, and when I called a week beforehand to confirm it, they told me they were going to be closed that week! So I had to scurry and make a last-minute appointment elsewhere. I was not the "My wedding is the most important day of my life" type of bride and actually had a small, simple wedding, but it was really stressful to go through that with a week to go, when I don't really know what else I could have done to avoid that. I booked Salon Twist for a small wedding party for my daughter's wedding on November 6th. Anybody who's planned a wedding knows it doesn't come without a time or two in the planning where you wished you had just eloped. I planned this to be a fun time for everyone to feel a little pampered and relaxed before the wedding, to forget all the stress. I thought I did everything right in picking the salon: went by and visited the site, met with the make-up artist and the stylist, the bride had a pre-wedding appointment to try a hair style. We both liked the feel of the salon at that appointment, relaxed and pretty friendly. The experience on wedding day was, unfortunately, not at all what I expected. We learned later that the make-up artist was no longer working at the salon (not sure why), but she had been allowed to come back for the wedding appointment. Obviously, there was friction in the salon between her and the owner, and it created a very uncomfortable feeling that was quite noticeable. You'd think the owner would want to make a wedding party that was spending a good deal of money in her salon welcome, and be appreciative of the business, but that wasn't the case at all. The make-up was a total disappointment, although I liked the La Bella Donna make-up line that was used. The make-up artist herself was very unprofessional. She talked constantly, making our appointment time run late. Although we'd talked about false eyelashes from day one, and I called to remind her about them, she didn't have any eyelashes. She did send a friend to CVS to pick some up, but they looked like cheap CVS lashes, were way too long, had to be trimmed by the hairstylist because she didn't know how to trim lashes, and she left big blobs of glue showing, especially on the bride. To the hair stylist's credit, the bride's hair was beautiful. She also did my hair (mother of the bride) and a bridesmaid. Hair was okay, but pins were showing all over, which made it look messy. The pins were hidden on bride's hair, and I assumed that was the way all hair styles would be. The prices for services at Salon Twist reflect a high-end salon with great customer service. Our experience there fell short of anything close to that. read more

If I could leave half a star I would. Went to the salon to get highlights done on my dark blondish brown hair. Was told The stylist may not be able to achieve a sandy blonde color with out a yellow tint in it, and therefore the stylist wanted to do just a few highlights to test the waters on the color blonde my hair would turn. After about six paper thin hidden highlights, olaplaex (definitely an up charge did not need), and 140$ my hair looked exactly the same!! I said I could not see the highlights at all to see if I liked the color. I was told to go home to see if I could see them at home and see if I liked them then. I was supposed to get a call the next day...never did. I Left emails and a message with the front desk. The front desk woman knew my Situation and told me that I could get it fixed or a refund and the owner Gina would call me back. Well...about 5 hours later I get a call from Gina the owner, who proceeds to be so incredibly rude to me, that I cannot even believe she still has customers. She basically tries to tell me that I am wrong about my hair color, and was told the color may not be achieved. She obviously doesn't pay attention because I was not having a color issue. I told her I did not see any highlights and that the stylist even had trouble finding a piece of highlighted hair to show me. She tells me that since I was unhappy at my last salon then the problem was probably me! She then yells at me because I said she was speaking to me in a very rude tone. Then she hung up on me! I will tell everyone I know how rude the owner of this salon is. I would expect more from a salon on 30A. Very disappointed. read more
