This is a GREAT spot. I went for martini Monday (85 pesos martinis all night) and ordered a house martini to start. They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back. read more

Stop by this local spot on a Tuesday. Was a little quite but loved the atmosphere and you could see the potential of a wonderful evening on a busy day. We were greeted by a great bartender. Welcoming and had great recommendations for drinks. A few regulars were there and shared great compliments about the bar and service. The bar itself is upstairs with a great little view of the shopping and small restaurants downstairs. Lots of seating around the bar and plenty of seats with tables. Hands down the best martinis you'll get in Puerto Vallarta. The staff is extremely attentive. They have a movie playing during your visit and you can still talk to your friends/family. The prices are great especially on Mondays. Monday is martini night which all martinis except the "Monique" martini is half priced $85 pesos!!!' We had tried to visit Twisted Palms on our last visit to PV but found it very quiet as it's definitely more of an evening (after dinner) kind of bar. Last night we struck lucky and found the place to be pleasantly busy and both the staff and clientele were extremely friendly. There was a real sense of community about the place, so they clearly get a lot of repeat business. They have a huge projector screen and have daily movie nights. Last night they played a Star Wars sequel, and they have James Bond Monday's with corresponding martini specials. Tiki Tuesday was also mentioned which piqued my interest. The owner mentioned that they specifically avoid making tiki drinks too sweet as it's supposed to be on the tart side. As someone who doesn't like a lot of sugar I really appreciated that. This place is packed all the time with drink specials. The owner is behind the bar and works harder than any one else in the team - commendable. Very nice staff and they are hustling. There's a U shaped bar and then a few rows of seats. The seats look comfy - like living room furniture. It reminds me of that neighbor who turned their garage into a bar. Drinks were good. Hidden gem in Old Town PV. My friends who are locals took me here for a cocktail after shopping and walking along the malecon for a refreshing cocktail. The drinks were wonderful and great friendly atmosphere. The owner is from Canada and only opens the lounge during the dry season (November to May I believe?) I had a margarita, my friends had a Tanqueray martini and a gin & tonic and the bill was $11 US! read more

We found Twisted Palms on Yelp and decided to give it a try...not realizing it was Martini Monday! Such a great deal on martinis on Mondays! $65mxn for any martini on the menu! We arrived around 430pm and there was no where to sit but the AWESOME waitress was super quick to hand us a menu, get a drink in our hand, then pointed us to an empty seat at the end of the bar! In just a few mins, the people beside of us left and we were able to sit at the bar and watch the owner make martini, after martini, after martini! Stopped in for a nightcap after dinner and really glad we did. There were a few of us in the bar and we were able to chat at a comfortable volume with all the patrons, as well as Al (owner) and Manuel (bartender). One couple came in who indicated they'd been visiting for years but had never introduced themselves to Al. Stumbled across this tiny bit of heaven quite by accident, but what a stroke of luck. It is quite literally like sitting on your own deck with a bunch of really good friends. Fabulous selection of delicious Martinis and the perfect place to relax after a hard day of vacationing. In the many years my wife and I have been vacationing in PV, we always stop in here a few nights for some relaxing conversation and delicious martini's. Over the years the owner Al has become a good friend whom I look forward to seeing again every year. The regulars who visit love to chat and make new friends, and Al is a great host to ask questions and converse with. My son needed to pee and so we stopped in for a drink. It's a fun little place largely catering to the tourists. The owner and bartender, Al is extremely friend and helpful.
