Wedding attendees are still raving about the food. The most frequent comments are that "it was absolutely the best wedding food" they have ever had, as well as, "it came hot". The service staff was polite and efficient. The day got away from us, so they adjusted to meet our needs. I never remember what I ate at most weddings. These guests will remember for years. Also, we had several guests with severe allergies and some with gluten issues. All of our needs were met and never questioned. Their menu is designed for GF/DF. But we also needed several plated dinners due to our more extremely allergic guests. We felt that our concerns were heard and taken seriously. Thank you!!! We also used the bar tending staff. They were excellent as well. We had three signature drinks and beer, wine and champagne. There was minimal waiting for drinks, even during the cocktail hour. I highly recommend this company for any event.

The Tenderloin Roquefort entrée was tasty, however barely warm or served cold for many. The Italian Stuffed Chicken looked boiled and most unappealing and unappetizing. It lacked taste, stuffing and was cold. The Butternut Squash Ravioli entrée portion was embarrassingly sparse with only 4 to 5 ravioli on plate. That entrée easily should have been double the portion size for what we paid per plate. No bread and butter plates on table setting as pictured in the place setting agreement. Cold dinner rolls that were wrapped in a napkin as if warm in basket on tables. The servers were lacking in professionalism and training. Servers should have completed serving all entrees on one table before moving on to the next...as to not have one person without entrée for 3 to 5 minutes, while the rest of table sits and stares at their already cold food. Servers expressing to our guests how they're tired and exhausted and want to get the heck out of there. Server staff pulling dessert dishes before guests were finished, placing uneaten desserts on tablecloth, taking water glasses before guest were finished with them, pouring coffee into paper cups and letting guests know they needed to get these dishes into kitchen washed and packed because they wanted to get home! We thought that a served dinner would be a bit more elevated and special than a buffet, it was nothing close to that for our guests that night. It was disappointing and embarrassing.

When planning my wedding, I was looking for a caterer who shared my food values. I wanted someone who would present my guests with some delicious local food; someone who would be low-key and easy to work with. UFC seemed to be just what I was looking for. But then, I should have known it wouldn't be so easy. First, I had to email approximately 15 times before I was able to set up a meeting with them. Since I live in San Francisco, I had a window of about a week to meet with them. Needless to say, they weren't very interested in accommodating me. Then, the meeting. After the general unhelpfulness of our scheduling exchanges, my expectations were low, but wow! Now, I generally expect that when I meet with a caterer, I'll get to taste some of their food. Not so. I (sort of) understood, since they don't have a kitchen facility, per se. I reminded myself to keep an open mind. Most caterers will lead you through the initial meeting, getting a sense of what you're looking for, your budget, your style. Not this guy. What we got was... well, not much besides a lot of chef peacockery. Now, being from San Francisco, I'm used to food snobs. I am fluent in their language - they are my people. But UFC made me feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman - the scene when she is hysterically pulling wads of cash out of her purse, begging to be waited on in Beverly Hills. Surprise, surprise, they never called me back - another giant red flag - and I didn't pursue them either. I did send an email letting them know how disappointed I was, which (of course) was never replied to. I would caution anyone against working with these folks. Even though their mission and food seem to be top notch, their diva behavior is just too much. I only wish I could give zero stars.
