We also sampled a couple sweet wines, we generally do not drink sweet, they were also equally amazing. BTW Jim went upstairs and played piano while we were there. Phenomenal !!!!! They also had blankets that we could borrow to use during our stay which was nice since it was cold! There was also a fire pit but it wasn't lit while we were there. They had seating inside as well. There was a good selection of Ashe county cheese and crackers for purchase to snack on. Would go back!

We had a lovely experience at grandfather Vineyard recently while on vacation. We decided to come…read moreon a whim while staying in seven devils and enjoyed lovely life, music, and lots of local vendor foods and treats. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with ample seating, both near the water and across the yard near the stage. The staff was great about consistently cleaning up to keep away bees, or any sort of other pests. It was lovely to see so many families and even dogs which made it a more casual and fun experience overall. We tried the dry flight and overall really enjoyed it! We are usually red wine drinkers, but overall actually preferred the whites instead. Only negative was that they didn't have any of the umbrellas set up at the tables and the sun was quite bright and hot that day so it was difficult to find a location with shade and a table. We had to choose two chairs under some shade and use a third chair as a temporary table which made our experience a little less comfortable. We ended up purchasing two bottles of the white wines from our flight and would highly recommend others coming back in the future.

I am a sweet wine fan and they did have several to choose from - moscato, peach, blackberry, strawberry, apple, sangria, and cranberry. I loved the flight boards and how they served them. Unfortunately that is where the joy ends. Every single one of their wines tasted like watered down kool-aid or fruit juice - or as Scott said - home kit wines. I tasted no hint of wine in any of their wines. I was so nervous about getting blackberry merlot since merlot is a dry wine, but it was just a light blackberry juice. The only one we remotely enjoyed was the peach. Again, lovely winery, lovely indoor and outdoor seating, great hosts, but the wine is just not my style or preference. I do however recommend going to give it a try since you may love it or just a good winery to visit and hang out at.

It was massive inside and there was plenty of seating and we found more outside. It was pretty slow so there was only a few other people there. The woman who helped us was very knowledgeable about the winery, beers and processes of making both. We did a tasting of both beers and wines and came away with a few bottles.
