Travis Chicago style is the old standby in Birmingham. Always consistent, always quick, always…read morefriendly, you get the idea. I've seen them in various parts of town so chances are you've seen them around the Birmingham area at least once or twice. Known for their burgers and polish dogs the menu serves up delicious food that's saucy and fresh. They even have some vegan options for you. My go to is the polish dog that comes with a welcomed large polish sausage, onions and peppers drenched in their special sauce. The polish sausage is thick and seasoned with garlic. The hot dog bun and everything in between is a must try!

Big portions of familiar, messy, delicious things, a compact menu, and quick friendly service. It has been around for so long that it's something of an anchor of the local food truck scene, and those who've eaten anything from it probably all hope it sticks around for a long time. It's meat-forward. Big polish sausage dogs covered in chili/debris/perfectly sautéed onions, burgers that are dripping with goodness and heavy when you pick them up. Fries that are always crisp and piping hot. Long term consistent execution. As sure a thing as you're gonna get from a truck. If you see it, and you're hungry, consider yourself blessed.

Day number 3 of food reviews from this year's Birmingham Restaurant Week and honestly this one is…read morevery disappointing. This is on Stephen's Dogs and More. Once again anytime I review a new place I do my best to have at least one other person try it and this time it was a total of 4 of us. Yes 4 unsatisfied customers. I do not get joy out of posting bad reviews but it is what it is. We all ordered the same hotdogs The Blue Devil and The Jordan. Let's start with The Blue Devil it's just a chili cheese dog with just chili and cheese no onion no mustard how most usually come. First bit it was okay nothing special the hotdogs was lukewarm and the chili tasted like straight out of a can and the cheese was cold and not melted and a bun pulled right out of the bag so wasn't toasted or steamed almost stale tasting. Super disappointing. 5/10 The next one was The Jordan which consisted of Kraut Sauce (Kraut, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Onions). Same boiled hotdog same tasting bun but the Kraut sauce helped a lot. This was actually really good and a step up from the last one but unfortunately it was also lukewarm. 6/10 Stati Jones had this to say "I could make that at home myself. 6/10" Rashad Caldwell also had this to say "My thoughts on the Hot dog food truck is it taste like something I can cook at home really the chili cheese dog taste like store bought like out of a can and the other one it tasted decent. I give it a 3/10." Unfortunately Anthony W Evans II didn't make the deadline to send in his thoughts because he was stuck protecting and serving but just no he didn't really enjoy it and said never again. All in all I think it's safe to say we will never try this again unless something changes. It felt like there was no love no care for their product and I hate that because we are huge hotdog fans and we left feeling disappointed. When I go to a food truck or restaurant that sells hotdogs I don't want something that taste like I made it at home thats why I choose to go to a Gus's Hot Dogs or a Tonys Hot Dogs or even a Sneaky Petes and an honorable mention to Paul's Hotdogs & Grill Inc. I want something I can't recruit at home. But hey I personally wouldn't recommend it but if you'd like to try them for yourself, then check this place out.

As a regular patron of Stephens I can tell you there is NOTHING bad on this truck. He recently…read moreadded new menu items including chicken salad and even it is amazing! If you haven't tried this hot dog wagon you are missing out. LOTS of people have tried to duplicate this wagon and every one has failed miserably
