To my surprise the sausage was delicious the ground beef was juicy and seasoned and the bell peppers and onions were grilled and flavorful. This is the first Bear Burger I've had since Travis used to have a brick and mortar off 3rd Ave West. The burger was just as I remembered, big! Seriously, the patty is huge and big enough for two. I got mine all the way, including the special sauce, cheese, and grilled onions. This food truck is super conveniently located, as it is right outside my favorite bar, Saturn. I always love to get the veggie burger, which is always delicious and perfectly sauced. Since I've been in Birmingham, I've been told I need to try a Travis Burger and/or Polish dog. Well, I've finally had the chance to taste both and I was impressed. Although I'm not a huge burger fan, I was definitely impressed. It's a simple burger made of ground chuck, but the seasoning, sautéed onions, and barbecue sauce made it so flavorful. The polish dog was also delicious and can be enjoyed with or without condiments. I got barbecue sauce and sautéed onions on mine. This food stand is typically located in Avondale on Friday and Saturday nights (maybe Thursdays too but I'm not sure) next to Saturn. There's also a food truck that can be found throughout the city. After waiting for the people in front of us, we walked up to the window to be told that they closed at 1 am and they just served their last burgers. According to their website and yelp page, they close at 2 am. Beyond that, they clearly served food to a police officer after as we were walking away. On a shopping trip to Walmart, I saw the Travis Food truck and decided to stop by and try their famous Bear burger and Polish dog.. Yes both for me!!! Which I ate half of each within two meals..(in case ya'll were wondering) So the wait was longer than normal since there were a few people in front. It seems that they only take so many orders at a time and make us wait (minus a star). I got my food after waiting over 30 minutes in the cold winter day. So once I got home couldn't wait and open both to do the taste test. I was definitely not disappointed and worth the wait. The meat on the bear burger was seasoned and grilled to perfection. As for the polish dog, it was the best dog I have ever had, so much flavor with the peppers and onions. Both had the ground beef on top with the special sauce which made them very meaty (this is a meat lover meal). I just could not finish both in one seating, so save half of both on my next meal.
