Me and a friend went out Saturday and it was the best time I had fishing in a long time. The crew captain Mark and Mike and Mike were great with everything. I will be going out again on September 8 for 10 hours for grouper. So if you want a great experience fishing I go with 2 George's in tarpon. Thank you again for a great day. My husband's family are on their way to visit from Michigan today and had a fishing trip paid for about a month in advance . Well he just got s call that they are canceling his trip because someone wants to rent the whole boat . They ruined everyone's trip due to GREED. Very sad that this has happened. So BEWARE booking on 2 George's. Your plans mean nothing to them only money . Book somewhere else and make sure they are not affiliate woth Two George's. Go out of Clearwater for your fishing adventure. ​To top it off it is the beginning of grouper season , so finding another boat with a day notice may be hard to find . This boat could care less about you unless you are a local. Ive been on many trips over the years and i heard good things about this boat. But unless you are a local they could care less about you. You will not catch anything but tiny grunts if you dont bring your own bait. The captain kept moving the boat even tho we were catching grunts. It kept moving because the locals they cater too werent catching hogfish. This boat was on a hogfish trip and the saps paying 90 bucks to catch a few grunts are who pays for it. The mates were hustling but only for the local hogfish fishermen. Do yourself a favor and find a boat that actually cares about you. The boat wasent terrible, the galley was very run down. Nothing like the pics they advertise. Never ever again. read more

Some things have been excellent, others a flop. Love the place tho on the water. We eat outside bc we usually bring our dog. Boats come and go so it's just nice to watch. This is recent new ownership of the former Twisted Tuna. Service is very good by the wait staff. Food is hard to really rate bc it's been inconsistent at times since changing hands. I suspect the new owners have some staffing problems. Oysters are good, seared aha tuna items are very good. Some ahi tuna choices are not seared so be sure to ask for it seared regardless. The salads have been great. The margarita pizza very good (all but one time). When the new owners get everything running as it should, the restaurant will be even better than it was. The owners have been in the restaurant business for years with another 2Georges restaurant that is very popular in another location. read more

Just so you know this was one of the best fishing trips I've gone on. The crew was super nice super friendly super helpful and pleasant to talk to. We left on time and came back on time. They have breakfast and lunch for a small price or bring your own. Plus clean restrooms.!! They will move around to spots where the fish are biting so you won't go home without one unless your not fishing. And if you have an issue with your fishing pole again, they are right there to help! There were a few that got sea sick from the choppy waters and the crew was to help them. They will filet your caught fish and bag it up, again for a super low price. We left with 9 fish ready to cook! So happy we decided to do this and we will definitely use them again. Can't beat the price either!!! Thank you to the crew you were wonderful! read more

Best $80 you can spend fishing. Don't bring anything but some beer and sunscreen. The captain and mates did the best job I've ever seen on a drift style boat. This isn't a normal drift boat. You catch huge grouper every single time with these guys. They run 20 miles out, pickup live bait for everyone, show you how to catch monster gag grouper that will make your buddies jealous. The boat is big and comfortable even when the rain kicks up. They have breakfast with good coffee and great super affordable lunch onboard in the galley. We thought they were joking when they told us our 15-20lb spinning gear wouldn't be needed because the fish we were gonna catch need heavy action rods. On top of all the good fishing there are dolphins following and jumping around everywhere. They don't hesitate to move spots to find where they are biting. Fine work crew. Stop reading and go fishing with these guys. read more

its sad that the captains steal half the deck hands money. they sit in the cabin and the drck hands do all the work. the deck hands deserve to keep their own tips. horrible business practices. dont recommend using them for this reason. the owners son get to the boat just in time to leave if not late. he is useles. read more

This was my first, but not last trip on this boat. Even though there were few passengers on this large boat, the captain didn't just anchor in one spot to save gas, he moved from one area to another. Not that we weren't catching fish, he seemed to want to find the 'big ones'. Very nice crew and cap't. Good boat, roomy, with a large A/C seating area with galley. Clean, and a good crew. So I never did find my sea legs but the experience was a blast anyway. The captain and deck hands were so kind and helpful and checked in with me numerous times. My family had a blast catching a ridiculous amount of fish, which the crew then cleaned and filleted. We took them home... fried them up... and man, were they delicious (the fish, not the crew). We got the chance to see a couple sea turtle while we were out there, too! Definitely don't regret despite not being able to stand and fish! read more

We went for a day long trip yesterday and boy was it a blast. It was probably the best charter boat experience I've ever been on. We all caught enough Key West grunts to have a big baggie of fish to eat when we went home. As soon as you drop the pole to the bottom you'd get bites. 5 or 6 people catch kingfish. We hung them on the boat for show on the way in. All the boats that saw us were pointing at our kingfish in amazement. Overall a very positive experience and the captain and deck hands were very helpful. These guys know where the fish are at. Best charter boat in Tampa Bay hands down! Not at all what we expected hearing good things about them. The boat was crowded, but it is the tourist season so we expected that. Bathrooms not cleaned or stocked. The water was rough once we finally arrived to fish. The "Captain" was a very young man that obviously didn't know how to keep the boat anchored . We spent so much time pulling anchor and coming back around that we may have had a total of 1-1 1/2 hour of actual fishing. He just couldn't keep us in the fish. I understand taking care of your regulars but to save their favorite spots on the boat is not right or fair to people who might become a regular if this bias didn't exist. It was really disheartening to see they also received preferential treatment by having their fish cleaned first! Our party will definitely be going back to Clearwater area we have had great fishing experiences and everyone was treated equally! They are priced about $30 less for a couple than most charters in the area but we will spend the extra money to have an experienced Captain and be treated fairly. read more

I was just out 6/22/20 my second time on this boat. no fish to take home either time. that's never happened on any deep sea trip ive been on. funny, the last reef we stopped at, we only stayed for about 10 to 15 min tops, and it was the only place that the bite was on all day besides a fish here and there which wasn't much for a full boat. how convenient. first time most of us caught a grouper all day and we had no time to fish. maybe if we hadn't stayed at the spot before, where there was no bite at all, for what seemed like close to an hr, maybe the day would have been different. guess that's just the way it goes with fishing or is it? these guys know these spots inside and out. they know where the fish are. all the excitement at the end of the day was enough to satisfy most of the people on the full boat. you can fool some of the people some of the time but you cant fool all the people all of the time. you wont be fooling me again. nice gig you have going but ill be going on a boat that is interested in catching fish for its customers, not just taking them for a ride. read more

This weekend went out on 12-hour trip. It was a sort of last minute thing because the normal place I got out of had a boat out at dry dock and the other had a private charter. Then my two backup boats were sold out as well. A friend of mine told me give them a call. I went out on the Two Georges twice many years ago and had not been back since. Now I remember why! The experience was sub-par, to say the least. When I called no answered the phone and left a message received a call from the same guy three times and told him, the two times after the original call, I would give him a call back shortly as I was at work. When I called back he told me the price I agreed and told me to be there early to get a good spot if I one. He said someone would be at the dock no later than 4 AM to open the boat up and let people start loading. I get there and some guy asks me, "what spot are you on?" Said I don't have a spot I thought it was first come first serve. He said nope it is assigned so I grabbed my cooler and other item and put them in the main cabin. When I came out of the main cabin, he told me I would be on spot 32. Could not find the spot and had to ask as the spots were written in faded sharpie and you could barely read it. I then headed to my truck to hang out as I waited. When I went back to the boat about 15 minutes prior to leaving I paid, as the person I had to pay finally arrived. Then I was told I was not in spot 32 and they moved my stuff. Said okay a little miffed as someone moved my stuff, Paid and asked who I needed to see about bait. The gentleman told me to see the shorter younger first mate. When I found him, he told me he was out of bait and didn't have any live pinfish to sell, but would check traps on the way out and could pay then if they had pinfish in the traps. There was bait in the traps but let's just say the pinfish was limited and everything else was weird, like eels, mudfish, grunts/pigfish, sea bass, crabs, and it was dumbed into a big 50-gallon drum. Then some regulars I would call them were allowed picked through the drum and took their choice of baits and put into their own private bait well; after I was told that was not possible for me to bring my own bait well when I asked when I booked. Then when we hit the fishing grounds, at a minimum it was a ten-minutes plus wait to position and anchor before you could drop a line, one spot it almost took 15 minutes plus, to anchor and position. spent more time dealing with others around getting tangled and being packed in like sardines. Even had the wife of the captain tell me I could not try to position my self with the current to try to free line a sardine for kingfish. In a 12 hour trip was literally hit 5 spots and waited even if the fish weren't bitting. The number of caught fish was limited and we left the fishing grounds early but stopped on our way in so people could watch the sunset. I have been on other trips on other boats for less time and have caught more fish and had a better time. Now I remember why I had not been to the Two Georges in almost 5 years, as the experience jogged my memory. This is a boat for tourist and unless your a regular, that is there every weekend or more, your just a paid fare and nothing. Customer service was horrible. I will be the last time I venture out on the Two George's or their Sister Boat the Miss Virginia! Take your chances! read more

I went on the 8 hour trip today. The capt seemed to do his best to find fish, however all we caught were very small grunts. A few non keeper Groupers were caught also. Between the three of us, we caught 27 fish, all of which were small. The mate was a bit surly and didn't seem to like his job much. Short guy with a goatee. He was actually very short with me three times. The crew was attentive overall. When I go deep sea fishing, I expect to catch bigger fish than I would if I had sat at the dock and fished. It would have been cheaper. read more

Do not waste your time and money! When I asked one of the mates (a young kid) about there being too many people on the boat his reply was "you are lucky that this is all of the people that are on the boat- we can fit another 40 people or so." The entire day was spent untangling lines from the other folks aboard since we were all fishing on top of each other (literally). If you are not a "regular" or someone who brings their own spinning reel do not waste your time or money. read more

We were told that there would be no more than sixty people. Turns out to be more than 100. 2 1/2 hours before we could fish and no one was catching anything except other fishing lines. The day consisted of tangled fishing lines and NO fish. Will not be going back again. Very disappointing day! read more

Tarpon Springs is a gorgeous location. 2 Georges Deep Sea Fishing located there state "Their our goal is to provide our guests with the most exciting sport fishing experience of their lives. Our entire staff is committed to your comfort and your successful fishing venture." Unfortunately it is not a charter for fisherman but for unsuspecting tourists. It was one long boat ride. Received cut up skate for bait, never received a bite on. Thank God we brought squid. No further bait was given or ice for our fish so we gave the fish away. The mates were more concerned about catching grouper--which is illegal. The live pinfish you had to pay additional for. 3 mates fished in front of me blocking my access. At one point one mate scolded me "To fish you have to stand up." I am crippled having just had knee surgery. An extremely terrible experience, save your $75 and go on a charter. Going to make many more fishing trips but it won't be at Tarpon Springs. read more
