When we got engaged, we knew we wanted to hire a planner for partial planning services (i.e. managing our vendors, organization, etc. plus month of services) to keep us organized and share great ideas. After calls with several companies, we decided to go with TKE. We met this incredible duo at a local wedding fair and they really stood out from the other wedding planners we talked to because we got the vibe that they genuinely wanted to execute the wedding we envisioned, no up-selling or over-promising anything. My husband and I didn't need full time wedding planning services, but we did need help beyond just the month/day-of coordination. Most of the planners we talked to before meeting Two Kindred were not flexible and would only offer us one or the other, but Two Kindred worked with us to customize a package based on our needs. Alison and Jonathan truly helped fine-tune what we were envisioning. Throughout the entire planning process, they shed light on all grey areas we weren't sure about, they asked questions we never thought about, and always provided expertise and guidance without ever making us feel like we were compromising our vision. We had a few setbacks occur with other vendors and it all would have been extremely stressful if we didn't have Two Kindred there to guide us. They also really helped us stay within budget by proposing alternative solutions for ways to cut back and guiding us on quantities. We are so happy to say that the day went off without a hitch! Jonathan and Alison were on top of everything, while making us feel completely at ease. Alison would come into the bridal suite every so often to check in and see how I was doing, it really helped calm my nerves. They made sure my husband and I got some alone time together after the ceremony ended (they prepared a toast and some nibbles for us), and when dinner time came around they prepared our plates for us (we did a buffet) and brought to us immediately so that we could have time to eat before making the rounds to say hi to everyone. We just felt like they were truly looking out for us and wanted to make sure we were having a great day and enjoying it all. It's this level of service that sets them apart! Their professionalism, responsiveness and expertise are top notch, they are masters at multi-tasking/juggling a ton at one time, and they are also really fun to work with. We worked very closely with Alison for our wedding at The Green Building in Brooklyn. She was an absolute gem, and our day would not have been as perfect if it had not been for her! When we began wedding planning, I did not think we needed a coordinator but here's the thing. People who say you don't need someone to help you out as a coordinator on your wedding day are either incredible at multi tasking, really good at convincing family/friends to do some dirty work for them for free, or crazy. Because if it wasn't for Alison as our coordinator, the day would have never, NEVER, gone off as smoothly as it did. Through our planning, we tried our best to keep budget in mind. Food and drink were incredibly important to us, but we needed to be realistic about how much we wanted to pay. Alison worked with us to figure out where we could save. She helped us with recommendations on flowers, music, lighting, you name it. She offered advice about things like guest books, and favors. She even helped us set up a special brown liquor bar for late night in the speakeasy at the venue. She actually made our wedding planning process fun! On the day of, Alison was clutch. She kept everyone on schedule, had her staff waiting for us with drinks after we came back down the aisle. We were just in the absolute best of hands with Alison running the show. She kept things moving through the course of the night so that we didn't have to think about a thing. And we didn't. Instead, we danced all night long. Which was exactly our plan. We initially stumbled upon Two Kindred Events when my partner and I got engaged in March 2020. We were hoping to plan a 250-person wedding for spring of 2021. My wife (fiancé, at the time) and I worked with Jonathan to plan our wedding. We had no time be even slightly frightened before Jonathan moved in and put himself in charge of our lives. And what I mean by put himself in charge of our lives, is that he created order from chaos; introduced us to reason; carved alternative avenues for our fixations and made our wedding day chill, as if no instructions were required. Jonathan consolidated every detail of our wedding day into one easy to use spreadsheet with a years' worth of planning to help us schedule and anticipate deadlines. He was always available via email and telephone multiple times a day for any small detail (like, should there be five iterations of serving trays or four) and to tell us when to just stop perseverating. Jonathan's background is in architecture and he has a sharp sense of style, space planning and décor (my Wife is an architect and appreciated this). He understands how pieces fit together when shopping for silverware, chairs, serving trays, linens etc...); he will help you pick items that fit with your personal style and in keeping with the vision (and budget) of your wedding. If you have questions or doubts about any detail, he is your wedding encyclopedia - Jonathan will find the information, if he does not already know it. If there is a problem, he has probably anticipated it, but be assured he is equipped to handle the unexpected. Such as keeping you focused on portraits and distracted from the trauma of la friedn osing thousands of dollars in tip money until it is found. He found it. So basically, Jonathan was our Calgon. He is incredibly intense when you think you have time to be calm, and calm when you're completely freaked out that your wedding is a week away. This is because he is a planner. A very good planner. We trusted that he would execute our wedding the way we wanted. And he did, flawlessly. He was not only our day of coordinator, he managed the kitchen staff, the wait staff and coordinated all of the vendors and kept our wedding on schedule. He made certain we were taken care of, a drink in one hand and food nearby so we could actually relax and enjoy our wedding day as if we were guests. I cannot imagine being satisfied planning our wedding with anyone but Jonathan. We cannot stress how much we enjoyed working with him. We interviewed several wedding coordinators, and what really made Jonathan stand out from the rest was how very personal he made everything feel. He wasn't trying to up-sell us things we didn't need, he wasn't trying to convince us to change our vision for the day (style or execution), he really just wanted to understand what we wanted so he could make it happen. From the moment we began talking about what we wanted on our wedding day Jonathan was organized, knowledgeable, and efficient. We had a vision for what we wanted, and with spreadsheets, lists, and a lot of questions we would never have even thought to ask, Jonathan turned our dream into a reality. When we were finalizing details he was able to make recommendations for us based on our budget and the look we were going for - small things that would make a big impact on our day - and really guide us when it came to the things that were worth spending money on, and were not. Leading up to the wedding Jonathan did an excellent job demanding things of our (somewhat difficult) venue and getting them to fix things when they weren't right. With all of his attention to detail in the weeks - and even hours - leading up to the ceremony, the entire wedding went off without a hitch. Jonathan coordinated all of the vendors, setup the reception area with our many DIY decor items, and kept us right on schedule the entire day - it was so nice to not have to worry about anything and just enjoy our time as bride and groom. After the ceremony he even arranged a private room with apps and a toast for my new husband and I to take a moment and enjoy and reflect on the fact that we were finally married! At the end of the event Jonathan packed up all of our DIY decor and had it stored for us to pickup the next day. There are not enough good things to say that cover off on how appreciative we are to have had Jonathan with us as we planned our wedding.
