If indeed someone is paying for 3 years for a contractor to do work, in any regard, I can say that maybe THAT would be the company that deserves a bad review. Also mentioning that someone is lucky they are not being sued typically comes from people without a leg to stand on. The customer is not always right. Serious people should see through that.
