Requesting help moving from Dearborn to Wyandotte, round trip is about 45 mins. The call to set up the service was quick and efficient with what seemed like no real problems. I had the agent walk me through every form to make sure it was all correct. I found out later that all the paperwork was never sent to the movers. The crew worked very hard for my mother. They didn't complain or act unprofessional in any way and went above and beyond for my mother. However, a big concern is how none of the movers seemed to have proper safety equipment. The company explained how all but the team lead were brand new employees and that was why, which is an answer I am not thrilled by. After paying 2,000$ for the service, it felt a bit too expensive for my tastes. read more

If I could use no star I would, we had 2 men and a truck move us 17 minutes and it cost us over 1200! They got lost, they were slower than a sloth, we basically had one man and a truck because the younger man was constantly complaining how tired he was, how sore he was. My husband and I both worked also, I feel we should of gotten paid as well loaded and unloaded to hurry them up! The one that complained non stop was carrying stuff in that my granddaughter who is 9 could carry. I tried to dispute some of the money with my bank but lost. We still had to make 5 trips of our own to get it done. I will never use them again and I will never recommend them. Oh they did give us 159 back because their crew got lost. read more

The manager said that we did a walk through but no body would walk through and say that's it. Never use Two Men and a Truck. They came with no materials (wrap, cloth sheets, carts/dollies) and damaged everything that was moved by them. Since they came unprepared, we had to assist them in carrying items like the nightstands, couch, media table, etc. Manager ignored my calls and didn't help find a resolution to anything and claims that since we had to offer assistance, they are not responsible for the damaged head board, couch, and media table. read more

THE WORST MOVERS!!!i decided to have "two men and a truck" to do the moving for me assuming that it was a reputable company who supposedly cares for their clients belongings. after the movers left i started to uncover the nightmare that they left for me to sort. they damaged every single item they moved ( even items they didn't ). At first i was assured that all the damages would be repaired by Dennis the manager and then the phone calls stopped being answered or returned. unfortunately after many months of chronic eyesores which constantly remind me of the horrendous experience i was left with no choice but to leave this review. i hope that no one ever has to go through the same experience as i did. if you care about your belongings choose someone else. if you think that their insurance means anything, think twice. they don't stand by anything. they are liars and don't stand by anything. unethical beyond imagination!! read more

This review is actually regarding the Clarkston, Michigan location. I was told on the phone that moving my item would be $390. I was "iffy" at that price, but I went ahead and booked the job. The price ended up being $640. Brandon (supervisor) from Two Men and a Truck tried to explain that it's a range from this many hours to this many hours. I told him to listen to the phone conversation again (which was recorded). I was quoted $390. He said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. Of course, I never heard back from him. The two guys were hard workers and best movers I have ever had, we gave them $40 tip, well here is the bad news: 1. We moved on a Sunday. Higher rate on the weekends. The office is closed on Sundays. The men were 30 minutes late, and they were supposed to be there 8:30-9:30, we had no way to get a hold of anyone at the office, we freaked out. It was very annoying and stressful. Apparently their truck broke down, but no phone call or anything? I was calling other companies, thinking I was left high and dry, the panic of no one can move us! 2. They scuffed up our walls not just the paint but underneath too. They did have someone that came out to fix it the next week, but it's annoying we had to keep scheduling times, and either he wouldn't come or we had to reschedule..but at least they fix it. The good news was: These movers were excellent. They were so nice, it was 90+ degrees and three flights of stairs and they just kept asking to do more, and were so speedy. They at first said we would be 7 hours, they were out of there in less than 3 hours. These guys hussled and still taped everything up. They worked very hard. Am I going to call Two Men and a Truck again for the next move? Yes. Despite the issues, once they got there they were great. read more

Floyd and his crew were fast, efficient, and courteous. They were able to move my personal property from my 11th floor apartment to a storage unit in 2.25 hours. I tipped them well (over 20% based on their total service rate charges on a weekend) especially since this is difficult and labor-intensive work. They wrapped my couch, chairs, dining room table, and dresser. I also asked them to wrap my headboard, coffee and side tables, paintings, and framed photos since they're going to storage. Good tip from Floyd: do not saran-wrap TV since the pressure can cause damage. However, I wish they organized and stacked better when they put things in storage. I spent another hour of reorganizing after they left. My wardrobe boxes were damaged since they were not sturdy and other boxes were stacked on top of them. One of the crew said that they should have wrapped the wardrobe boxes to make them more sturdy but they didn't offer to do that. I was their last customer of the day, ending at 6 pm, and it was raining, so they were rather tired at that point. Also, if they're going to use a mattress bag for my bed, they should have informed me that there's a charge in advance. It's not a lot of money ($7) but I don't like surprise charges in my receipt. read more

I recently hired this company for a move which cost about $1,000. A bit expensive as all movers are, but worth it. I was happy with most of the moving process, but while moving my footboard of my bed into the new house, the mover hit it on the screendoor which was propped open and broke a corner off the bedframe. I watched it happen, and he immediately apologized and accepted blame. At the end of the move, he filled out paperwork indicating that he was at fault, and said I just needed to contact the company and they would send someone out to fix it, or pay for the repair. Things got busy after the move, with unpacking, starting a new job and getting my children (2 and 5) adjusted to a new home. Fixing the bed wasn't an immediate priority so I will admit I didn't call them immediately, but there was no indication that their willingness to compensate their faults had an expiration date. When I did contact them and sent pictures of the damage, they said it was too late. I even had it fixed on my own for only $50 and asked them to reimburse me since they had admitted fault (in writing) and they just said "sorry too late." Why should it matter when it happened if they readily accept fault, they should readily offer reimbursement. I was satisfied with the move, but very dissatisfied with the corporate policies regarding damaged goods. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE TO MOVE, AS THEY WILL FIND A REASON NOT TO REIMBURSE, even if you are only asking for 5% of the cost of your move. read more

We have moved may be 4 or 5 times with 3 being within the past year and every move we used Two Man and a Truck. Last year we moved from Michigan to Chicago and that was a breeze and today they moved us back from downtown chi town to Michigan and did an even more awesome job. These guys busted their butts all day and got everything into and out of the truck with an impressive time, it was amazing. If you need movers I suggest, no ands ifs or buts about it, go with Two Men and a Truck, truly the best,and if your in chicago always ask for Jeremy and Marcoes, these guys are mover magicians!!!!! Also, the movers forgot two items and charged me for the time they spend traveling back to get them. I was severely over charged for only a few items and once I complained management refused to help or accommodate me for any of my troubles. I've worked with this company in the past and the service was decent. But I will not recommend this company to anyone. Also, do not leave your items unattended and please stay there for the entire duration of the time; or their team of movers will go through your items, lounge around and then charge you for the time they did absolutely NOTHING. read more

And yes, they were even patient as they moved out of an old bungalow into a townhome with too many stairs (sorry about that, guys). This company is the worst! They showed up an hour late. Worst of all, when they got to the unloading destination, they did not go to the actual door, they just sat and "waited on us to arrive". However, there was someone already at the destination, inside, waiting for them to arrive and unload. Instead of getting out of the truck, walking to the door, knocking on it, or simply calling us they. claim they sat there for 45 mins and because we did not arrive, they left....with all of my family members belongings! Wow! By this time the office was closed and we had no way of getting a hold of anyone. They next morning, I called the office, only to deal with Jenna who attempted to blame us for not arriving. When I told her that was false and that there was someone already there, and asked her why they did not knock on the door or call us, in which I could have told them that someone is already there waiting on them, instead of being accountable, she attempts to avoid the logic behind knocking on the door or calling and instead deferred to complaints about confusion during the loading over which items were to load the truck and which items were to stay. Hmm, excuse me, but don't play that game with me. Be accountable for the fact that your "two men" screwed up by not calling or simply knocking on the door. Avoidance and deference is not only unprofessional, it demonstrates a major lack of maturity. After going back and forth and dealing with her blaming us, she then states that they will be back on Monday (3 days after the move). Given that my family will not be in town on Monday, I tell her that is not going to work. She then finds a way to make it happen on Sunday morning (Easter). Bottom line, I can not emphasis enough, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I wish I would have done my due diligence and stopped by yelp to read these reviews before hiring them to move family. The elevator door would not open and after not receiving a response when I pressed the alarm button, the employee pried the door open and saved the day!!! I am very disappointed in the service I just received. For lack of words, 2 men and a truck has screwed me over. I am planning to move to California (from MI) for work within the next few weeks or so. I made it very clear to the company that I was moving far and had almost an exact count of what I had. I contacted 2 men and a truck and received a quote for $1,700. I called later on to have this verified once more. I am a college student, I would not have taken this service any further if it were any more of a cost. Someone even came out to quote me and gave me the same value of $1,700. Feeling reassured, I booked my flights, and other corresponding transfers for my big move. Upon booking, 2 men and truck finally called me back with my pick up date.....the new quote was $17,000. They apologized over the phone for they had miscalculated. I am wondering how such a "reputable" company miscalculates by $15,000. They had given me the quote of $1,700 for about 3 weeks. I had to find another company to move my things (Pods), who charged $2,000. Since I contacted them so late, thinking 2 men and a truck had my stuff, my stuff will be arriving long after I do. I have a family. My family, including my dog, can not live without a bed, and basic utensils for a few weeks. I have no choice but to spend more money when I arrive in California to hold my family over until my stuff arrives now. I planned my whole move around this company, while being reassured about my $1,700 quote MULTIPLE times, just to have them miscalculate by $15,000. read more

I'm trying to keep back tears while typing this but one of the movers stole my daughter piggy bank that my mother gave her with over $1,000 in it. I used Two Men and A Truck back in August of this year. The two men that came out were kind and efficient. We didn't see any problems during the move and they did everything in a timely manner. There was one talkative guy who was helpful and carried conversation as he did the work. We were happy overall and gave them a 40$ tip for their good work. Last night, our bed's railing broke, so one side of the bed was falling off the frame. This is a good quality bed we purchased from Art Van. We've never had any problems with it and its only about 1.5 years old. After removing the mattress and the box spring, we notice that the screws for this side of the bed railing were lose and some had fall out. Ok, quick fix, we'll just screw them back in, we thought. After trying to get it back in, we tested out the bed and again it fell off. It seems the holes are stripped and the screw does not support the bed at all over the last 1.5 month. so to be safe we took it apart and planned to put the mattress on the floor to sleep on. As we were taking it apart, I noticed most of the screws were very lose throughout and fortunately they had not cause the same problem the bed railing did. I called Two Men and A Truck this morning after finding out that it will cost $60 dollars for Art Van to come see if the bed is repairable and an additional amount for parts and labor if they end up fixing it. I assumed Two Men and A Truck could cover the bill since, its their mistake the bed fell apart and they are insured, so easy enough. Wrong! Apparently there is a 96 hour window that one has to complain and then there's no coverage. I'm sorry, I didn't know I had to make sure all the screws are tightened, I assume its being done properly. I am dissatisfied by their response and the condition my bed is in. I spent money on insured movers to do a good job, unfortunately, they did not. Please make sure you check everything (anything that needs to be screwed in or reassembled) before 96 hours so you can get reimbursed. Or just don't use them at all because if something happens a FEW WEEKS after, its not covered. I will not be recommending Two Men and A Truck to anyone nor do I encourage anyone else to use it. read more

This company destroyed my couches, destroyed my walls, and dented my TV. I Filed a claim and they never paid me. Make sure you get extra insurance on the entire move and your valuable possessions. They are supposed to pad and wrap everything according to their contract but they will not. If they did, nothing of mine would have been damaged. Read the contract in its entirety or you'll be left in their dusty trail like I was. Even after violating their own contract they will still not honor it so there may not even be a point to read it. Go with these guys and you'll end up in small claims court like me. There were so many other things wrong with this company like the fact that the workers were taking breaks on the job while I was paying about $100/hr, and the fact that the owner avoided my calls for about 3 weeks. I am an actual customer and I am a very fair and reasonable person. I gave this company way too many chances to right their wrongs and make amends with me before leading to my filing in the City of Dearborn small claims court. Very unprofessional - I had scheduled a move the day before with Pam and was told for certain it could happen between noon and 2pm the next day as long as I confirmed in the morning.
