The truck was too small for our 4 bedroom house which he knew about ahead of time, 2 trips of 1 hour each had to be made for a local move, there weren't enough blankets and packing/ protective supplies, and his crew was not very careful with our walls, railings, and ceilings resulting in marks, scratches, and paint removal in many places. I spent 3 hours the next day fixing and painting our walls because we were putting our house on the market. * I will note we had tight townhouse stairs and box springs so some marks were to be expected but places not tight at all were covered in marks and they managed to damage 3 small nightstands and a bookshelf less than probably 20 lbs. While he did give us one of the lowest prices, beware in this case sometimes you get what you pay for. I watched as they loaded the second truck full without wrapping or protecting any of the furniture and as a result most of that load ended up scratched and damaged. As I arranged my furniture I found gouges, scratches and one shelf on a bookshelf was completely cracked. Overall about 4-5 pieces were damaged that I've found so far, and sadly I expect to find more as time goes on and I continue unpacking. When asked to rectify the situation, about his insurance he claims he carries, or for any sort of compensation for the damages, he refused and told me we did not sign a contract with him and to have a goodnight. Buyer Beware. Don't move with this company if you actually like your stuff.

The gentleman who moved us were GREAT! Friendly, professional, and efficient! Daniel & Mitch were exceptional! The third gentleman was recently back into moving I believe and struggled a bit but that was fine. He wasn't an issue at all & I appreciated all their hard work. The issue came at 10:30pm at night when we were quoted for the 3-hour travel time, in addition to the work time. I don't know where the miscommunication came from but that is why I documented/confirmed in email exactly what I would be responsible for as the customer--$160/hr for 3 men and a 27' truck; hours worked; $0.99 for every mile after the first 25 miles; and taxes. I was not told that I'd be paying for drive time. Mileage, yes. Gas, no. Looking back, I'm guessing the loophole was "the guys will call you when they're on their way." Idk. But that night when it was all said & done, the owner was VERY unprofessional. She handles the payments over the phone at the end of jobs. She was not the pleasant business owner I initially spoke with over 30 days prior. That 10:30pm version was more like...the uncouth family member in every family who had too many drinks at the BBQ and was talking out the side of their mouth. She had the nerve to threaten cops, take me to court, and throwing jabs such as "just because you don't have the money" etc... So...that's my overall gist/experience. We resolved it. You may not have this issue because hopefully, this review will help you know what to expect. Nobody likes surprises. You're free to look at my past reviews....I post a lot of great reviews & I simply call it like I see it.

The Frederick Moving Company workers were excellent. They were very polite and worked extremely…read morehard. I have nothing negative to say about the labor. I was, however, unhappy about the quoting accuracy. When we started the project we were quote 6 men, two trucks, 10 hours at $300 per hour. So essentially $3000 estimated. Granted, our move was complicated by multiple factors. We were doing two households, my condo and my daughters townhouse over 3 days. They sent the six men on a Monday and were completely done loading my condo and 95% of my daughters townhome in 5 hours. Great! Everyone said that unloading always goes faster. The last part of my daughters townhome couldn't be done until Wednesday so everything stayed on the truck Monday and Tuesday night. This is where the first misquote came from. When interviewing Frederick Moving I asked what would be the cost of the trucks for storing overnight expecting a large charge. Rosemarie said minimal-$100. It actually turned out to be $100 per truck per night totalling $400! This was NOT disclosed during quoting. The final pickup at my daughters townhome was done in 1/2 hour but we could not move in until the closing on the new property was completed 3 hours later. Trying to mitigate the cost of 6 men at $300 per hour sitting and waiting for 3 hours ($900) I asked if they could send one truck in the morning with a couple of guys and have the other truck follow later. Bob, the owner, said no but that he would reduce the number of guys and drop the hourly to $250/hr and only send 5 guys. What he actually did was drop it to 4 guys at $215 per hour. These poor guys worked their butts off but it took 8 hours to unload the trucks! This resulted in a bill of $4480 not the original $3000 quoted. Again, the guys were great but overworked. It was the quoting that I had a complaint with and Bob did not see it the way I saw it as explained above. Thus the 3 star rating for increasing my cost by 50%. If you use them, make sure you tie it all out in writing. Again, the guys who moved us were great
