I have done two moves recently: one with Badger Bros and one with Two Men and a Truck. Each company moved about the same volume between the same locations. The difference was astounding. Badger Bros was cheaper, but it showed. They barely wrapped furniture (one or two passes) and damaged several pieces. They also deposited boxes randomly, even though all boxes were labeled and color-coded for location; we are still finding boxes coded for the attic in the basement (or vice versa), which we then have to haul up or down multiple flights of stairs. Two Men literally cocooned our belongings (not a scratch!) and put everything where it belonged. They were highly professional, efficient, and lived up to their motto, "movers who care." read more

I scheduled ahead of time. I confirmed the appointment. Texted ahead of time to see if I could get a ETA. They didn't say they would call. Was in a meeting so couldn't take the call. so they didn't show. They didn't let me know they weren't coming but when I called they said they would let me know the new time. instead nobody called and nobody showed and all of them are done for the day. I contacted 2 men in a truck to inquire about having a mattress and recliner removed. I asked how much the charge would be. Tiffany told me that they couldn't give me an estimate, that the driver would tell me how much the charge would be when they got here, depending on what needed to be removed and what type of removal it was. I told Tiffany I needed a mattress and a recliner removed. But she said they still could not give me any pricing information until they got here. When the team of movers got here, I was informed that there was a minimum charge of $200. I feel that 2 men in a truck as a company was unethical and deceitful by not telling me that there was a minimum charge even though they might have had to charge more. Depending on what type of things you're being removed is irregardless. The point is that they had a minimum charge, and they could have informed me of that at the time that I made my inquiry. I'm really disappointed in this company because they moved us from Madison to Waunakee. I had such an exceptional experience with them. As movers, I had no hesitation in calling them to have junk removed. But I'll never use them again. Because I feel as a consumer, they lied to me. Beware when you decide to hire them to remove junk. Because you won't know until they get there what they will charge. That should be illegal. They should have to tell you that they at least charge a minimum of $200. I mean, that was a big deal, because I could have gone to a different company. And maybe had a different result. But as it was, I was stuck, I had no other options. I called the company before I made this review to give them a chance to explain to me why they didn't tell me that there was a minimum charge and I got a very illogical and uncomprehensionable explanation. Heather tried telling me that even though 2 men in a truck set up jobs for their junk division. Heather tried telling me that the actual company doesn't take any responsibility for the junk removal. Even though the driver and his helper had 2 men in a truck logo t-shirts on and the truck itself said 2 men in a truck junk, so to me it's the same company so that excuse didn't make any sense to me. That was just another lie. They really miss the mark when it comes to removing junk. I would look somewhere else or try and do it yourself. So, as a cautionary tale, beware. read more

We have used Two Men and a Truck several times over the past 15 years, and the Madison office on more than one occasion.. Our last experience was a terrible experience. They did not wrap our furniture. Our sofa was torn, and there were several dirt and grease marks on our sofa. We filed a damage report. It has been 10 days since our move, and we are still waiting for someone to come out to inspect our sofa to arrange for cleaning and repair as well as assessing any reimbursement for the damages that occurred. The movers had no idea how to move the sofa through doorways, and took an extra hour for the move (we traded a sofa and bed 4 months previously with the same company, and now were moving them back--it took an hour longer this time for exactly the same move). We called the.company twice about the damages and the extra time taken for the move. We have not heard back from management related to our concerns about the damage. to our couch or about the inflated charges. Our previous experiences with the company have been good, but not this time. We would not recommend them as a moving company. read more

DO NOT USE!! I paid for moving and packing service. Multiple items left behind, the movers said I do not have to be present and can meet them at the new location. The items left behind were on counter tops, in plain view. The boxes were not packed by "movers who care" (their motto). So very disappointed. Charged over 900$ to move 2 beds, couple shelf, couch, 2 52" tvs, and some other small items. Destroyed one of the TVs and offers to give us 60 cents a pound for a 52 inch Sony TV. What a joke. Didn't realize I had to pay more money in order for you to take care in moving my stuff rather then what I ended up with. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. The truck was actually able to arrive a little ahead of schedule and was done inside of an hour. They made a potentially traumatic event be painless and quick. This company moved me from Middleton to Madison on June 22, 2020. I felt that they did a good job. When the move was completed, they had me sign a bill and pay by credit card on an Ipad. They said they would email the receipt. It is July 4, 2020 and I have not received a receipt. I received an email which said a receipt was in the attachment, but there was no receipt in the attachment. I have called the office three times and emailed twice. I was told I would receive another email with the receipt and that they would mail a written receipt to me. I have received neither. I also have found that I am missing a full-length mirror which I had observed being loaded onto the truck. I have reported this missing item three times but have received no answer. I feel that Two Men and a Truck uses poor business practices and will not hire them again nor refer them. read more

I would not use this company again. They overcharged 15 minutes. They were supposed to be at my place at 1:30pm on Tuesday but they arrived early -- I made it home on 1:05 and found they were waiting outside. They did a good job moving. spent 20 minutes, travel time is supposed to be 20 minutes one way. It is really should be one-hour bill but they insisted charging me an extra 15 minutes. Aside from the high cost, their men are inexperienced. I submitted this review to their email as well in hopes they prevent this from happening to someone else. My service cost over $900 for 4 hours of work. I think it's a hit or miss on who you get and I clearly had 3 men that had no clue how to pack a container. Nothing was secured and my belongings (yes, even my fragiles) came to rest at the front of the doors. It took me well over a half-hour to open one container due to the items shifting and lodged against the doors. I ended up hiring another company after I moved into my new place to off-load and re-load one of the containers properly. So after all said and done I was out about $1300 on this move. I suggest if you hire them to have someone with you to watch what they do and make sure your items are not being shoved in. The cost would be more than worth it if my items would have been packed in a neat and conscientious manner. Also, this is the first time I have moved that a company didn't provide a manifesto of items packed in what container. I had to play the guessing game when unpacking to find which container my kids beds/clothes, kitchen items, etc. had been placed. read more

Aaron got things loaded and Milan did the unloading of approximately 57 billion boxes of books (slight hyperbole). Jonah was a great pinch hitter when we ran into some issues and kept things moving along. All in all, a great experience for us. Moving is never fun. Just had our move completed yesterday. We moved from Madison to Eau Claire. They did an excellent job. Heather in the office was always helpful and professional. I got them to help me on the phone as opposed to the web for a quote as I am always super busy and she was very helpful via phone. On the days of my move we had Arron and Aaron as our team. Everything went better than planned. They arrived on time and exceeded our expectations. Very professional and capable . On the second day you could see the hustle to get the job done both quickly and carefully. Our cost was far below quoted amount as we did do most of the boxing ourselves and they were very speedy. Overall EXCELLENT . Would certainly recommend. Oh, and the days we moved were bitter cold and the guys took that in stride and did not miss a beat. Due to the pandemic, we could not return to Madison to move our son out of the dorm before the move out deadline of June 30th. We fortunately found Two Men and a Truck after doing some online research. I spoke with Crystal who fully understood our situation and was extremely accommodating and understating about our packing preferences for certain items. She also assisted with putting us in contact with a storage company. Crystal put us at ease that the move would be taken care of without us being present and everything would make it to storage just fine. During the move we were in contact with the movers and when they were done unloading at the storage location they called me and let me know all was locked away. I had an electric massage chair, (175lbs) that needed moving from my garage to the basement. I called Two men and a Truck and was told that it was 150$ minimum. They showed, without the truck, and spent 20 minutes moving the chair. They were gracious and careful and they did the job. A month later an additional 40$ fee was on my card, which i only caught when doing taxes 6 months later. (yes I need a bookkeeper). add to that the 10$ i tipped the guys, and it cost me 200$. My lesson recently, is to use the locally owned business, and not the franchise, and save yourself money. read more

Left a message for Peter to call since he called me during the move, he never called back. I've used Two Men before and did not have a problem. I scheduled Two Men for an internal move of a number of items and talking to their person we agreed that the time could take between 2 to 4 hours, that is on their estimate. Their estimate also shows an eta of 2 to 4 pm. Since scheduling is a big part of their job, logic would dictate that if they got here as late as 4 pm, they would stay until worst case scenario 8. Their people arrived at 3:10 and left at 5:15 (took a break at 4:15 approx. and sat in the truck). They left saying we could reschedule, leaving the job unfinished. Now I pose the questions, how could I possibly satisfied? How could I pay your going rate when you left me with a job to get finished? How could I possibly leave anything but a negative review? read more

I will say they were very supportive and showed a true desire to come to a fair accommodation after our move was completed and closed. They provided a generous and acceptable refund for charges on our second move, covered the costs for unrepairable damage, and sent a great furniture repair technician to fix what could be fixed. Now I have to resort to a bad review as the won't call me and I'm advised to call the office in the morning because maybe they can help. What?! Not recommended. Save yourself the stress and go with someone else. Our experience with them was nightmarish. They vastly underestimated the amount of time it would take to move us. I'm talking hours & hours off. And they showed up with a truck that was woefully small for the job. We were to be out of our old house at an agreed-upon time and they caused us to be extremely late. We had to apologize to the buyers of our house, and wound up moving the last items OURSELVES. What did we pay them for? Then they broke a fixture in our old house, which we had to reimburse to the buyers. How embarrassing. Two Men and a Truck gets by with a cute name and a misplaced corporate image of being the little guy who works hard to get it done. It's just not true. This is a large franchised corporation with many locations, yet they can't handle even moderate moves like ours. I cannot say enough positive things about this service. Moving is always a pain, but Two Men and a Truck made our long distance move (Madison -Ohio) incredibly easy and painless. They packed up our entire apartment in 3 hours on a Friday morning, and arrived as scheduled in Ohio on Monday afternoon. They unpacked the truck in about 2 hours, moving everything to the rooms we requested. They took great care with all furniture, re-wrapping everything and making sure it was packed with care. Everything arrived safe and sound. The workers were really courteous, helpful, and thorough. Two Men and Truck was able to schedule the movers to be as efficient as possible. Furniture arrived on the same day we arrived at the house, and they packed up the apartment only 2 days before we left. BEWARE of these trucks! I seriously have been ran off the road by these drivers TWICE in the past year. The 1st time I thought "hey... its a big truck it happens?!" But today dude driving took the corner (two lanes) huge and I had to slam on my breaks and stop to avoid being ran over by this giant moving truck (you've seen em). Scared me big time.. I usually do not write negative reviews but these employees driving these trucks need to go though a crash course on driving. Because of this I will never use them for moving ever.. We used Two Men and A Truck for our move from Stoughton to Sheboygan and were incredibly pleased with the quality of service we had. In fact, I just asked my husband before writing this, "Was there anything about them we didn't like?" And he said, "Uh, no, that was some of the best service we've ever had." I think the girl that helped us with our quote was new, but we had no complaints with her. For a quote, they want to know how many bedrooms you have, how many pieces of furniture, etc etc. I literally told them how many pieces of porch furniture we had. They told us based on what we had, they would recommend two trucks. The movers arrived on time. They had a great crew leader who explained the process. All were wearing company shirts. We did not use their packing service, packer our own boxes. They took great care of our furniture, including some antiques that they packaged well for the trip. Given the old house we lived in, some things did not come out of the upstairs or the basement easily (had been assembled in those areas) and for some of the things upstairs, they were able to pass things over our second story balcony to the ground floor. Some things in the basement they took apart for us. So yes, they charge by the hour. But you know what, these guys were literally RUNNING up and down our stairs and out to the truck with our stuff. They were NOT dawdling at all. Couldn't believe it since they charge by the hour. In the end, we didn't fill the second truck, but we would have been screwed if we had only one truck, so they did the estimate well. At our new place, they were great at putting things back together and putting things exactly where we wanted them. Nothing was broken. We are thrilled with the service we received. I'm not sure about the reviews below, I had a great experience. Once I got a quote online, I got confirmation emails and a phone call to confirm and discuss the move. I also received a decent estimate compared to other companies I'd looked at. It does suck that you are charged from the minute they leave the facility for time vs distance. Since my move was scheduled for 8am, it took them 30 minutes because of rush hour traffic. When the movers arrived they were polite and clean. They wore company shirts and provided me with a move in introduction card with their names. I showed them what needed to be moved and they got right on it. These guys had 3 flights of stairs to go down and they made short work of it! I was simply amazed at how efficient they were! Same with when we got to the new place. They put the furniture and boxes where I asked them to and were very efficient. I was quoted for 3 hours and the guys moved so quickly it took 2. I felt really bad for these guys, it was already 90 degrees by 8am. They did a great job though, despite the heat. All of my things made it in one piece with no damage. I have made dozens of local, cross country and overseas moves in my lifetime, most of which ended in disappointment in one form or another. I hired Two Men and a Truck to move a year and a half ago, and again expected the worst. Imagine my surprise when two very nice, well dressed guys showed up exactly on time with a newer truck. They were fast and efficient. When they arrived at my new place, not did they get everything inside quickly, but they even assembled my bed for me! Their prices are insanely high. $179/hr. They were here for 45 minutes plus 30 minutes round trip driving. They charged me for 2 hours, $358 to move a bedroom set from one room to another within my house. And the 45 minutes included 10 minutes when they left to "contact the office and get my bill ready." So basically I was charged an additional $30 for them to figure out how much more money I owed them. Find another moving company. Two Men and a Truck will bleed you dry.
