First, when the owner called me to set up the time, he was completely rude. Correcting me on the size of the trailer that I had rented from another company, he insisted twice that I was wrong. I eventually had to blow him off in mid conversation because of it. Second, he would not acknowledge the charity that I was wanting half my stuff delivered to. I had to force the issue. They were hired to load my trailer and take half my stuff to a charity that I chose. This was a very simple move for them to complete. But when I was telling them where I wanted my stuff donated, they requested that I give them the donations for their own charity. While this charity is a worthy charity, it has nothing to do with their company, just someone that works there deals with it. They were so insistent and repeated themselves over and over about it that I felt obligated. Very unprofessional.

What was quoted at less than $400 turned into an invoice for $1000. When I called the staff was polite and explained fees for extra men, extra hours and so on which supported the $1000 bill. I paid for extra manpower I didn't request, extra time which accounted for there stop to the grocery store between houses and snack breaks while loading where I watched multiple times then sit in my driveway and eat Takis. I understand having to make a living but I can't help but feel heavily swindled. I would just be very cautious hiring Tough Guys Moving. If you do, just know you will pay a minimum of double possibly triple your quote.

They were able to schedule a next-day, emergent load-out for me, provided me a realistic price-estimate for my belongings, and a written confirmation of the appointment (had a 16-ft PODS container parked outside of my new apartment). Michael gave me a courtesy call 15 minutes before arrival (their arrival was right on time). I was very impressed and a bit surprised at the speed of their service. I hired three guys to carry 1200 square feet worth of heavy, wood furniture, boxes and kitchen appliances up three flights of stairs. I was in the military for 10 years and conducted many moves; I've never had a move that took less than five hours to complete. These guys did it in under four. Do I recommend Little Guys? ABSOLUTELY. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS. Avoid them at all costs. They did not provide an estimate in writing,…read morewhich I should have known was a sign that they are not reputable, but we went ahead with them because they provided a good estimate and we knew someone who used them for a move several years ago. This was a huge mistake. We had a terrible experience with them including major delays, $7k in damage to our belongings, lying about costs, and more. During the move, they kept asking us for more money and making it seem like we had to pay in order for the move to happen. They claimed that the truck we needed to rent would cost over $4200, when it cost $1500. They committed multiple violations of DOT regulations for interstate moves -- they did not provide an inventory or any paperwork, they did not weigh our goods, etc. They treat employees terribly: they did not give workers details of the trip in advance, they did not give them adequate money for fuel and hotels, they had them driving without breaks, etc. We heard one of the managers, Dawn, berating her employees (who were working hard and not doing anything wrong) over the phone while he was unloading our items. At one point, as our items had been delayed almost two days and the arrival of the trucks kept getting delayed further and further, we were sitting in our empty home in fear that our things would never arrive. They did eventually show up, but they overcharged us to the tune of about $10,000. When we raised our complaints about the poor service received and reported damages, Dawn's first response was "I'm out of the office for the rest of this week." By that time, we knew we couldn't trust her. She has now stopped responding to us. We will be reporting them to the FMCSA, the IRS, and anyone else we can, but what we most want is to save anyone else from throwing their money away. Do not believe a word they say. Hire literally anyone else.

We requested a pick up and move from one town to another and was told with the quote they would…read morehave a 26ft truck and a 24 ft enclosed trailer for our 5 bedroom house and also make 2 trips if necessary. The day before the move the owner David calls and asks me to meet him at U-Haul to give him some money so he can rent a truck because his 26 ft truck fell through. No problem I did that. I just wanted to be sure and have the trucks. So day of move he shows up an hour late and says his helper backed out and he had to find new help...ok and he only had one 26ft truck. When he was asked about it he said he could get it all in the truck on one trip. I told him there was no way my stuff would make it a two hour trip safely. Day goes on and they are loading truck fine and when things come down to end of truck there is still another truck load of stuff sitting around to be loaded. I asked David was he coming back to get my other stuff and he said no it was too far. I had a family emergency going on at this time as well and had to deal with that so I sent him and my mom on their way to the new house 2 hours away. When David and my mother got to the new house David told my mother he wasn't unloading our stuff until paid in full. She called me and I asked about my stuff being moved in full and was told I could move it myself that he had been up since 4 am due to his helper bailing on him and he was not going back. He stated that he would hold my property hostage until I paid him in full. Finally after much arguing back and forth and myself being under extreme stress due to my situation I was dealing with outside of moving David gave my mom $100 deposit back and said if I paid the balance then we could have our stuff. This was all on a Friday. On Sunday we rented a 15' truck and hired 2 more guys to help load and unload the truck and moved the rest of the stuff ourselves costing another $400 Plus time. We spent over a week going back and forth with David about reimbursing for that and got nothing. He told us that he could have got it with a pick up. We filled a 15 foot moving truck. This doesnt even touch the stuff they broke and the number of boxes that were just turned upside down and shoved in the house. They did not put boxes in the rooms that they were marked for. They filled the garage as full as they could get it then put the rest in the kitchen and living room. It was a nightmare! Spend the extra money on a REAL moving company! This guy is a joke!

They arrived on time and went through the house and told me how they were going to load the trucks. I have moved several times and these guys took the best care of our furniture and boxes. They wrapped all of our furniture and were very careful with loading and unloading. These are the most polite young men. Their responses were always "Yes ma'am".
