From my first conversation with Peyton, to the completion of my move with Michael, Johnny and Nick, I received nothing but great customer service in a very timely manner. They were able to schedule a next-day, emergent load-out for me, provided me a realistic price-estimate for my belongings, and a written confirmation of the appointment (had a 16-ft PODS container parked outside of my new apartment). Michael gave me a courtesy call 15 minutes before arrival (their arrival was right on time). I was very impressed and a bit surprised at the speed of their service. I hired three guys to carry 1200 square feet worth of heavy, wood furniture, boxes and kitchen appliances up three flights of stairs. I was in the military for 10 years and conducted many moves; I've never had a move that took less than five hours to complete. These guys did it in under four. Do I recommend Little Guys? ABSOLUTELY. Just awful. After breaking my desk, the workers tried to lie and say we broke it. You'd think management would be nice and listen. No, they gave us attitude, gaslit us, and tried to not pay for it even though we had paid for a protection plan extra too. The manager we spoke to, Cameron, was just awful and rude. I hate to have to write this review, but I believe that it is important to know what you're getting when you choose a business to spend your money with. We recently moved from Louisiana back to the Lubbock area, and wanted to use a more locally owned/operated moving company. Little Guys was very responsive and friendly, and gave us a fair rate to move our stuff. We did a walk through our house over the phone, detailing was was in the house. We were told that to fit it all in one truck, we might have to lose a couple of items, but other than that it should be no problem. In fact, we even postponed our move a week to accommodate them and what they had open on the schedule. We were to pack everything, and they would load and transport it. Move day came, and all of our items were packed and ready. The two guys drove in the night before, but did not show up at my house to start loading until nearly 10:00 AM. I had told the company that my plan was to help them get loaded, and then drive to Lubbock that evening. Starting at 10:00 AM already put the day way behind. I had also rented a 6x12 trailer to take anything extra, as well as our riding mower. The guys asked me to try and take as much, or all, of the extra items in the garage, such as yard tools, extra boxes, etc. I did not load the trailer floor to ceiling, and front to back, but it was pretty full. By the time it had reached mid afternoon, it was obvious that they were not going to get done anytime soon. I talked with the guys about leaving before they were done, and they were okay with it. They told me that they thought everything left should fit with no problems. So, I finished loading up the rest of the trailer and my truck and headed out. Late that night, I received a call from the crew that they were not able to get it all in the truck, and would be leaving 3 items there. They were a small piano, a gas powered fire pit, and our brand new treadmill. I was not at all happy about that, but decided I would wait to talk to the manager in Lubbock the next morning. Next morning, I was not able to get in touch with anyone at Little Guys. Neither the moving crew or the office answered when I called or texted. Finally heard back from the manager. He was apologetic for the 3 items, and offered a couple hundred price reduction to cover what it would cost to either go get the items or sell them. Although I did not like this, it would have to work. During this time, a friend went by the house to check on things. She went through the house and sent photos of all of the things they had simply left. I was pretty shocked at how much they left in the house. Things like a ladder, step stools, a $100 trash can, card tables, mirrors, fishing gear, and our disassembled trampoline. That's a lot of stuff! I called the Lubbock office back, and the employee asked me to email the photos to them of the things left behind, which I did. He said he would have the manager call me back when he had a chance. He called a bit later, and was immediately short and defensive. I expressed my displeasure with how much of our stuff was left behind, especially when we were told by the crew that only 3 items were left behind. I really do not like to be lied to, especially when I am the one paying the bill for the service. The manager promptly told me that they would not do anything to help out. I asked if they could rent a small truck (at my expense) to bring the rest of the stuff, and he refused. He said it was my fault because we had more boxes than he thought we would. Crazy thing is, we had gotten rid of a ton of large items that were included in the original quote from them. In fact, I had talked with their office 2 days before the move and gone over the new list with them. Did not matter to him, it was my fault, not theirs. He expected payment when they showed up, and that was that. Terrible customer service. Would not ever use them again. read more

Little Guys packed a pod for me for a long distance move. I asked up front if they could securely pack a pod for long distance and they assured me they could. I provided moving blankets and rope to secure the load. Upon arrival, the load looked like they had tossed everything around and two pieces of furniture were totally destroyed. My movers at my destination said it hadn't been packed properly. When I contacted Little Guys they claimed no responsibility. Don't use them. read more

After breaking a lamp the man from the office called and was to reimburse me $75 by mailing check (that never came). Then when a party was being held I discovered three holes in my new card table. I always use Little Guys when I move because they are hard workers who get any job, big or small, done right! Last week, I hired them to help me do a local move and they totally killed it. The three guys we had assigned to do our move (duplex to an apartment) were named David Munoz, Curtis Wright. and Thomas Fairly. They were friendly, extra helpful, professional and fast. Can a move be enjoyable? If so, Jalen R., Ricky L., John C., Brandon F., Brandon P., and Eldon D. have figured out how. They were courteous, kind, nice and funny. And even after a looooong day of moving, they still had smiles on their faces. Their professionalism was top-notch. From the estimate, appointment scheduling, emails and follow-up calls, to the amazing care they took of our belongings and our home(s) on the day of the move (and the way they never once judged the layers of dust on our belongings... ), I couldn't have asked for a single thing to have been done better. And their rates were completely comparable with other movers we've used in the past. I don't feel like I'm doing them justice with this review. So, I'll just sum it up with this: I made my husband cancel with another moving company (because I just wasn't thrilled with them after our last move, and I saw the great reviews Little Guys got on Yelp), so we could schedule Little Guys. He humored me, but wasn't thrilled with the last minute change. At the end of the exhausting day of moving, my husband looked at me and said, "You made a good call with the moving company. Apartment had been cleaned to hand back to apartment landlord so bathroom had to be cleaned again. Delayed arrival and departure due to mover's condition. The movers and everyone I spoke with on the phone were extremely friendly. The process took about an hour longer than expected, but they took care that my belongings wouldn't get wet in the rain! We recently moved to Lubbock, Texas from Big Lake, Texas. This moving company had to drive 180 miles from Lubbock to Big Lake and with loading a whole house full of furniture in between. The guys (who aren't all that little) were so professional without sacrificing personality. This company was referred to us by my husband's brother and family. When I first called, I was able to speak with a mover who was able to go over what needed to be moved, room by room, and gave me an estimate right away. Beveled mirror on an antique dresser was broken, and several pieces of antique furniture missing. They sent a guy out to repair furniture, but replaced our antique mirror with low grade quality mirror. Was unable to rectify the missing furniture pieces. Will not use them ever again. read more

Poor bid process. Beware they will nickel and dime your job. I told the person that bid my job he was welcome to come and look at it. He refused and asked me to estimate boxes items etc. I had thought they might want to look because we had a lot stored. They came this morning and told us our job would be like 1400.00 instead of 950.00. That was ok cause we had more items in our garage than they thought. We'll they took a load and we're coming back to get remaining items. Refused to take more than the mirror and ottoman they left. They said if they took more it would be more $ It was like being held hostage with your stuff. I called to complain and they just kept putting it back on me. I don't think it is my job to count boxes for their bid/estimate of how much work it is to move a 1200 square foot apartment to a similar size residence. This is our 4th move and I have never had such a messed up experience. If they want to charge more fine, but they should bid it correctly and own the price they give you. read more

I have friends who have no "professional" experience packing a truck that did a better job than Hudson and Mathew. I'll admit that I have a decent amount of stuff but seriously a 26 foot truck should have been more than enough space for the things in my 2-bedroom apartment and more that I needed to pick up along the way. Because of the poor work these 2 did, I barely had room for anything else and only was able to put more in the truck after serious rearrangement and still couldn't get it all. I would say, half my truck was wasted space because of the lack of stacking furniture on top of one another - in a good pack, I shouldn't be able to see much of the ceiling of the truck! Learn to stack chairs on top of each other and on other things! Also learn to evaluate boxes and put light ones on top of heavy ones and not the other way around - common sense should tell you that! When I arrived at my destination, I had smashed containers because of this error with breakable a inside. Luckily this isn't my first rodeo with moving and had the sense and time to package things in boxes within boxes and with LOTS of bubble wrap because I value my belongings! I do believe that extra protection is the only thing that saved my stuff...or so I think - guess I'll find out for sure once everything gets unpacked. In addition to the lack of room left in the truck due to the poor arranging skills of the 2, my truck swayed on me to the middle point of my destination (to the point that the truck felt like it was going to flip). Again, it wasn't until things were rearranged and weight redistributed that the truck drove like it should. My movers who moved me into that apartment took 2.5 hours and there was about the same amount of stuff (oh and that same amount of stuff fit into a 20' truck). Little Guys quoted and Hudson and Mathew took 4 hours. The longer estimate made me think that they'd do a really good job - nope, not even close! A friend of mine said she got an inflated quote as well. Little Guys told her it would take them 5 hours for her move. She, being smart, went with another company and it was done in 2.5 hours. I don't see the names of these 2 movers on any of the other reviews so I don't know if they are extra hands for the summer or what. Bottom line, I should have done a better job monitoring their work but I was preoccupied so I give them that. In the end, I was beyond dissatisfied and would not recommend the company to any of my friends still in Lubbock. Their poor job cost me time, more money for another rental truck in the future, and a TON of extra stress, stress I didn't need on top of an already pretty stressful move! Professionals and good guys who patient and accomdating to getting my family moved. i did have a issue were i thought they damaged my dryer but the manager had a professional appliance guy checked it out and it wasn't there fault (Rusten took care of us). Hard to say enough good things about our experience with Little Guys. This is the way a business should be run! They do what they say they'll do and they do it with professionalism, courtesy and punctuality that seems to be very rare these days. Vince and Peter were great to work with - always going the extra mile to make sure everything was exactly where we needed it. They never slowed down loading or unloading and both always had smiles on their faces. I've never used a moving company before and had heard lots of bad stuff about some of the "big guys", but we were in a pinch time-wise and called Little Guys based on a referral from a friend.
