HORRIBLE COMPANY. We were told one price over the phone and when the final bill came, it was more than what was quoted. They make you sign before you get the actual bill so they can do whatever they want with the price after you have signed. We tried talking with them and were just quoted standard policy, horrible customer service. Requested a supervisor call back....got nothing. The only positive about this company was their guys who showed up to move our stuff. They were very nice and worked very hard. read more

The movers were very polite until they damaged my refrigerator. They started using bad language and being rough with boxes. I called their supervisor and he said he would get back to me and he never did! The movers denied the damage and said that they told my husband but he was busy on the phone. I observed the fridge before it was loaded in the truck and there was no damage. I saw them damage the door when they were moving it. I will never use them again! We moved from Springfield up to St. Louis on 5/25-26/2023 and the team from Two Men and a Truck ("TM&T") did a fantastic job for us. Moving is never fun, and we've had some real nightmarish moves, but TM&T exceeded our expectations. When moving, I have come to believe there are three things that are by far the most important: 1.) Communication - I give this firm an A+ (the day of our move and prior to the arrival time the foreman/job manager called me to say that they were about to arrive at our home, and the rest of the crew was finishing a job a few miles away and would be joining them in about a half hour. He did not need to do that though he did and we really appreciated that. Why? Because they were starting the move off on the right foot!). 2.) Care - I'm sure you expect your possessions to be packed, shipped and arrive at their destination in one piece. Ours did. Truth be told, we're pessimists when it comes to this, but we were proven wrong. Gladly so! 3.) Price - Usually, you have an estimate of what the move will cost prior to making arrangements. We like that estimate to come realistically close to the actual, final bill, and ours was spot on. That is testament to the fact that TM&T estimate your move with care and accuracy. Never again. Quoted 1300. Charged over 3k. Broke our TV. Told we would be called. We were not. We reached out and spoke to Levi who gave us the quote. Told him the multitude of issues with our move. The fact that it took them over 12 hours to move a 2100 sq ft home to a storage building, the fact that the storage building was 2 miles away and they took 2 hours to get there, we had to help move furniture to the living room to speed them along, we moved the grill from the backyard to the side of the house for them and reminded them 3 times to get the grill... they forgot. We asked them to keep the safe at the front of the storage building, they did not. They charged us for boxes that we had asked for (lamps and tv), yet they had NO boxes. Bed frame parts are all mixed up in the storage building. Told us there would be 3-4 men. There were 2 boys. They added a 3rd at 3 PM. I have moved multiple times in my life. Never was it such a fiasco. We were organized and had everything ready to go. Our last move was from one 4000 sq ft home to another home 15 miles away... it took 7 hours. After a long discussion with Levi, we were told Pat would call us. He did not. We got a message from Levi stating he charged our card for over 3 grand and acted like we had never had a conversation! Now we are out a TV, charged for boxes that we never received, and paid more for a move than we should have. Unbelievable. read more

My 85 year old mom sold her house in order to move to Kansas City. She contacted Two Men and a Truck and got a great quote! A team of 4 young men showed up and had her furniture on the truck within 2 hours. Took beds apart, wrapped precious items like a grandfather's clock and moved dressers and trunks without having to unload them. Made the trip to KC and dropped off items in two other locations since there were items going to other family members. Ended up at her apartment and brought everything in, putting beds back together, placing everything where she wanted it and offering one more time to move anything that wasn't quite right before they left. Started at 8:30 and done by around 4:30. The four young men were hard workers, had a great sense of humor and made a hot and tiring day a super experience! read more

I have used this company several times over the past three years and it has steadily been going downhill. They cost more, pay their people less, and have tremendous turnover. The only reason I gave this move two stars is Rory, the driver and supervisor of my move was extremely professional and doing his best to deal with two highly unprofessional individuals that were rude and actually throwing and KICKING my things around like it was personal. Two of the movers spent most of time standing around very loudly griping they did not care for the quality of the items that they were moving and they felt like most of it was junk. Nothing makes you feel worse than movers that stand in front of your car and put latex gloves on while making intense eye contact. One of the movers spent 30 minutes, with his supervisor on the phone arguing that he didn't want to unload the truck into the storage locker that I had rented. I guess apparently it was beneath him? At any rate I've had good luck with them in the past but it has been steadily going downhill and the last three moves have been terrible. I use them for everything including shuffling things from one storage locker to another and for home moves. I stage houses and managing my inventory is very important, having half of it broken and then having to sign a waiver saying that I'm OK with it being broken is not OK with me. Their excuse for this is that the storage locker contained items they were not properly stacked which is ironic considering it was their company that had done it that moved before. I will never use them again. And I highly recommend no one use them. They've had a complete turnover in staff and apparently the business is showing the stress of it. ( FYI I still tipped well because they evenly divide the tip and I didn't want to cheat Rory out of a tip he definitely earned dealing with the other two lazy lackluster movers. read more

Making a move 2000+ miles from Missouri to Oregon, it was alarming to arrive at my destination and find some of the items had been poorly packed, causing damage to two pieces of furniture. Although resolution of the situation was unduly long in settling, management came through with an acceptable restitution, which will allow me to get the major problem resolved. For local moves, I would highly recommend their services, but I guess for any long-distance move in the future, I will deal with a national moving company. read more

I have been struggling to get in contact with someone at the office in Springfield, MO. I did the online quote and it states someone would be getting in touch with us, that was two weeks ago. I have called and left detailed messages. I am happy for the recommendation of another moving service that has been nothing but professional and was in contact with us within 24 hours. We hired them because we had used them back in December of 2012. We were needing to move from our house we sold to a temporary home while we were looking for something permanent. Caleb and Paul were friendly, professional, and took great care of our stuff! When we needed them again in May of 2013, I requested the same two individuals. Caleb and Paul, along with Zach this time, did it again. They were professional, fast and, careful. I love how they disassemble everything and then put it back together where you want it! I had a panic moment with my recent move a week ago. I thought I was in need of finding a new company at the last moment after my whole house was packed. I called at 4:50 right before they closed and explained my problem. Katheren was wonderful and worked really hard to find a solution for me. I can't say enough good things about the service I received from them. She gave me her email and we stayed in touch till I knew my actual movers were on their way! If only there was a way to have negative stars - that's what the review would be. This is the "only" negative review I have ever given in my life and it's the direct result of 1) carelessness for our personal belongings and 2) Grant Hornbuckle's (2MAAT owner) emailed commitment to fix the damage caused by his company and then doing nothing to follow through. Just a bunch of false promises. Bottom line, they we're hired to load an ABM trailer for our move out of state and couldn't / wouldn't use their trailers because we couldn't move into our new home right away. As a result, their defense of the all the damage that happened was because they didn't use their truck, even though they are the ones who recommended we use ABM or PODS for our situation. You can see the pictures that have been posted and really it's just pathetic to think that all of our furniture which was featured in 417 Magazine in a home profile was literally just stacked on the dirty floor of a trailer, unwrapped and unprotected. Even worse, after documenting all of the this and being told by Grant Hornbuckle the owner of the Springfield branch, calling the corporate offices in Michigan and having the local San Diego branch inspect, they did nothing - even though Grant promised "we're working towards a solution for you". What's ironic, the San Diego representatives actually took photos of our belongings for their training purposes so they show their team "what not to do" in the future. Do you really think clear shrink wrap is going to protect a wooden book shelf when you stack a file cabinet on top it? If this is what they think, you really can't trust them at all with your belongings. If you have to move, DO NOT use this company. Why? We documented everything and were told that they screwed up, but still they did nothing to fix or help us at all. And we're talking over $5000 is damages based on the estimates we received from the Furniture Doctor who they sent to inspect and the cost to recover our sofa which we've already had to pay for. Moving is tough. Nobody's likes it. But having all of your furniture ruined because the company you're paying is careless is really painful. It's just sad really. Bottom line, find someone else to help you or hire someone else - because it will be cheaper and your stuff will be in better shape. That's the honest truth. read more

They broke our table and took two days to move us when they estimated one. Fail. Nice guys but not good. Knock a hole in wall also. I called powerhouse next move. They moved same stuff to another house in less time and one less guy. One of them was stoned but he was awesome. I know it's a hard job but come on. Do not pay for third guy. The two gentleman that helped us move (from a fourth floor apartment) were wonderful! We were at our new place in three hours with everything unloaded. They worked hard they entire time and never complained. They took a five minute smoke break and that's it (& impressive for moving in hot August). They were dressed well and in their uniforms. They wrapped our furniture in plastic before moving it safely on the dolly. Everything on the truck was neatly stacked and cushioned using their moving blankets that are padded. Despite being paid by the hour they hustled. They had a great attitude and we're always very polite. All our supplies including a fragile mirror arrived safely. We hired Two Men & A Truck, "movers who care", but they did not take care when packing our belongings, and they arrived damaged. Upon recommendation from the company salesperson, we purchased all the furniture wrapping, including felt pads and shrink wrap, along with boxes from Two Men & A Truck. Two of their team members packed and loaded all of our belongings. When they arrived at their destination, we discovered that a majority of our furnishings had not been properly wrapped, which caused damage. We have hundreds of photographing documenting the inadequate--in some cases nonexistent--wrapping of each piece. Damage consists of: a torn and grease-covered sofa, chips an scrapes on multiple interior chairs, marred dining table base, two dented dresses that had been stacked on top of each other improperly, a sideboard/console with broken feet, scraped and dented media console, dented and chipped bookcases (two), chipped wire side table, three lampshades that were thrown in the truck with no wrapping and are now covered in grease, a broken teak exterior table, marred desk top, bed frame and side tables. A vintage Ducati motorcycle and two other bikes also come out dented from excessive pressure of things piled on top of them. We had hired a professional company at our new home to unpack the trailer, and when they saw the unprofessional pack job that had been done, they suggested that we document the damage as the truck was unloaded. We also discovered a large stack of more than 60 felt pads and two rolls of shrink wrap at the back of the truck that we had purchased from the company but were never used. Upon receiving our initial complaint, the Springfield franchise owner of Two Men & a Truck in Springfield asked representatives from their San Diego franchise to come out and assess the damage. Whey they inspected the furniture and the felt pads, the men agreed that it was a poor packing job. In fact, one representative took photos and told us that he planned to use them as a training example for his team of "what not to do." Upon inspecting the pads that we purchased from the Springfield franchise, the San Diego representatives told us that the pads we were sold were not nearly thick enough to protect the furnishings and that their franchises uses far better wrapping to avoid these types of issues. The San Diego franchise and manager then sent out a furniture repair company to get an estimate for the repairs. The furniture repair representative said that unfortunately some of the items, such as the dressers, can only be repaired by completely sanding and refinishing them and there is no guarantee that they will match the remaining furniture suite. While the Springfield manager initially said he would take care of many of the repairs, he went silent. We are very disappointed with the outcome of this move, and recommend that anyone doing a move look elsewhere. read more

We moved from north central Oklahoma to Springfield in May, 2015. We called 2 companies to get estimates for our move-Two Men and a Truck and a competitor in Oklahoma. The estimates were within $200.00 of each other so we decided on Two Men and a Truck. When they arrived to pack and load, they had too few supplies, too few men, and too little of a truck. The guys took a look around the house and called their office. More of everything showed up the next day, but they charged us double! The guys who packed and moved us were great. The person who estimates the jobs was either very bad at the job or intentionally got us over a barrel and then jacked up the price. Either way we would never use Two Menanda Truck of Springfield again. I gave 2 stars for the movers. They were awesome!! read more

They laid our brand new kitchen table down on its top without put anything down to protect the wood surface, not once but twice!! When they turned the table over, the scratches where very noticeable. When asked why they didn't put anything down to protect the top, we were told "you'll need to call the office". The local office sent out "the best place" in town to fix the table. Almost 2 months later we received the table back. Needless to say it looks worse now than it did before it left. You can see the tape marks were they taped the table, there are drip marks from the stain, the corner edges are not even stained. That's just the top! the table base has red mares on it that were not there before, and also has spots were the inside of the legs have been roughed up. The person from "the best place in town" that came out to look at the table rushed looking at the table, and never apologized for the horrendous quality of their work. When asked about the base, he said that he was to only fix the top, and didn't know how the base got that way because it was wrapped up and was in the corner of the shop. That was a lie because when you rub your hand down the legs of the base, the stain over spray rubs off on your hand. The experience has been miserable, and will NEVER recommend them to any one read more

We had a absolutely horrible experience from the start with them being late over an hour it set our back because we had to be out of one house at 10:30am but couldn't move to the next one till 12 noon. The new owners were waiting for us to finish. Now the bed was broken the master bedroom set. They will not stand behind nothing. They actually called me a liar. They movers said they told me that the bed was broken before they moved it -- They did not .. just truly disappointed. We have used them before with not to much issue but this one was terrible. Research people look at other options first. However the POD company out of Springfield was awesome to work with. read more

Two weeks ago I requested a quote from two men and truck that appeared reasonable to move two mattresses and box springs, a table and chairs and 6 boxes. When I followed thru to hire them for my move my quote was not honored, instead I was told because of the 1 hour travel distance there was a 6.25 hr minimum! I was moving less than a room of furniture, it would have taken two guys 30-40 min to load directly from a small storage facility, but they told me double what I was quoted. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was informed there was none available, but later Melinda did call me and left a message. When I tried to return the call during lunch I was told at 1:30 that she was gone for the day. Terrible customer service and their quote was a rip off and unreasonable. It left me with no confidence to hire them for my move. I moved and entire 1400 sq foot house, 3 floors and a basement for less then what I was quoted... Don't use this company! read more

Two years ago used an "off brand" moving company here in Springfield, which turned out to be a huge mistake. (Found it on craigslist, which should have been my first clue, but I was lured by the price...live and learn). Two years later, this past January, after the new baby was born, my wife and I moved to a bit larger home. This time, we followed the advice of my parents and used Two Men and a Truck. It was close to the same price as our move two years ago, but what a difference. They service rep I spoke with gave me a detailed estimate over the phone, and the actual move was $60.00 below the estimate! (A first for me!) The movers (two men as advertised!) were extremely nice and clean cut, and within minutes of arriving began the process of packing. I noticed how careful they were with the furnishings, espcially those with glass. They took the extra time to pack and wrap my big screen, which arrived without a scratch. In fact, when they unpacked and placed everything in our new home, it was flawless. Same cost as our previous move, but a huge difference. If every company cared about customers as much as this one does, it would be a pleasure to do business with service companies. I found TWO MEN to be very professional, enjoyable to do business with from beginning to end, and learned why my parents so strongly suggested we use them.
