We received almond butter cups that tasted and appeared to be peanut butter cups in almond butter packaging. We had multiple people try and compare them and everyone said it tasted, smelled and looked just like peanut butter, not like the almond butter cups we've had before. We've ordered the almond and peanut butter cups multiple times previously and can tell the difference. When I tried to bring this to the attention of the company, they were not concerned at all! That is such a dangerous mistake if we are correct! We also noticed that the numbers on the nutrition labels are off and don't add up right. So, I don't trust that what is listed on the package is what is in the product. And to top it off, they wouldn't even give me a refund unless I packaged the products in dry ice and shipped them back at my cost in perfect condition so they could sell them to someone else! This does not seem like best practices for a perishable consumable, or customer service.

They are my staple sweet as they have no refined sugar, no dairy, and are just delicious. I just tried her carob bark for the first time, and it's equally delicious. She recently opened this storefront, so being the fan that I am, I dropped by and picked up a few things from her shop as well as toured the attached production facility with Missy J herself! So cool! I got to hear the story about why she started the business, which was inspiring and fun. Stop by Missy J's and get some delicious stuff, but also meet the awesome lady behind the brand! Bonus: Boulder Beer's tap room is across the street, if you are into beer, go get some afterward. :) There are actually a lot of little places hidden away by Missy J's, next time I'll spend more time checking out the others.

And then when I get to the bottom of the container I put cracker crumbs in there and use a spoon to get it very last bit out. I probably eat a container every week. It is the best! She has celiacs and so I am always super cautious with baked goods I buy for her so that they're safe for her to have. Crestone was one of the first (and highest rated) bakeries I came across that were specifically catering to the gluten free world. I read through a couple reviews and was almost immediately sold - the hype was great and they weren't too far from me to stop in before making my drive. Crestone is nestled in a pretty large strip mall area, and is right next door to another baked good shop. There is plenty of parking, so finding a spot was very easy. Right when I walked in, I was surprised by the sheer quantity of items in the storefront; there are several refrigerated cabinets, glass cases, shelves, and tables with various items on display. You can kind of see into the back when you walk in, and there are a number of people bustling about. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the folks in the front I assume were the owners. The wife (I think) offered to answer any questions I had, and was very obviously knowledgeable about all the items and nuances with the various recipes. I explained I was there for a friend and that she has had a tough time finding gluten free items that both lasted and tasted good. I was guided around the whole storefront and given several recommendations for items that would be good to try and also hold up for the few hours of driving I had in front of me. After perusing for some time, I got several items: a loaf of sandwich bread, sugar cookies with buttercream frosting, apple fritters, and a soft pretzel. I don't usually shop for gluten free items, but the variety of product at this place is super impressive. I don't see quite the level of diverse products really anywhere I've ever been before, to be honest. This rivals the chain store bakeries in terms of the different types of goodies, in my opinion. All items held up super well during the drive, and the couple of cookies I saved for myself the next day were just as delicious as I expected. My favorite of the bunch had to be the fritter... I LOVE apple fritters normally but I have to say these were probably better than any I've had before, gluten free or not. My friend absolutely loved everything and said that it was by far the best gluten free option she has had to date. That being said, I will definitely be back. I needed some gifts for the holidays and could not resist a treat (a very small one) for myself. The sales staff is incredibly nice and friendly and knowledgeable. They also don't pressure you at all. They know you will be sucked in on your own just seeing the nice display of their collections. And they always offer you a free taste too. If this was a full service store, with open stock offerings and if it was here all the time, I would certainly have to give them 5 stars.

Instead of buying 5lb bags of flour when I…read morego through 1lb a year, I fill a mason jar, label it with Sharpie and put it in my redneck country chic pantry with all the other mason jars of sugar, brown sugar, quinoa, gluten free organic oats, MECO cheese crackers, chocolate covered balls, coffee beans, organic olive oil, tamari sauce, and alllllll the spices I get from Simply Bulk. Local eggs, bread, soaps and value add products are always available at the register along with a fun selection of Longmont stickers. You can get almost everything here. I haven't loved the laundry soda (it doesn't work nearly as well as Charlie's) but they have tons of options of cleaning products and body care as well as the food selection. You can replace almost everything you buy at the grocery store with something Simply Bulk sells in bulk. You can also pick up free used buckets and 30-55 gallon drums for home and yard use - think of the rain barrels! Employees have always been super helpful and friendly and the staff has been consistent over time. Bring in empty salsa, condiment, pasta sauce jars (with their lids) to donate here for others to use who may have forgotten or don't have something the right size for what they're buying.
