My last move with them many years ago was a disaster. It was the missing items (theft) at the end of it all that was my biggest concern. Hopefully, they have improved the quality and integrity of their workers since then. read more

Please note my review is solely based on Edmonton location Two small men with big hearts In Edmonton jan 25 2019 This was an alberta works move.The customer has M.S and a few mental issues so alberta works authorized 9 hrs to pack and move my friend they came to apartment at 930.They said they where only told to pack the kitchen only they where rushing they forgot pictures on wall lots of little things. They decided to take off without letting us know and we still had a few things at the apartments as we mentioned a new place I asked him why he took off one of the guy's "THE BOSS" said there truck was full but at very end of move one of the workers said there was still room so they finished unloading truck and ask to get signed off at 6.5 hrs they did not want to go get the rest of the stuff but eventually BN they did one of the guys had a very foul mouth lots of swearing through the whole move another guy mentioned in the morning that he didn't have his methadone yet and the other guy was bumming cigarettes and didn't clean up any mess they made in hallways and as I was sorting out all my furniture I've noticed two tables are broken legs are broken off one legs are missing off the other so I would not recommend using this company just because someone is on social assistance and have mental issues dose not give anyone they right to treat others badly or break there things .. read more

Very poor service. Came on a Friday, plan was made in the weeks before to move hot tub along with contents of house. Extra crew hid a block away. Really! We saw their truck and had talked to them before they left. The crew that stayed said it couldn't be done. The whole move was changed to Saturday. On moving day one of the movers asked for an apple due to low blood sugar and I offered him a bun, he then made buns for the whole crew! BTW, they charge by the hour, even when eating my food. They parked the truck far away, I'm assuming to make the move last longer and were horribly inefficient. Office staff poorly trained. Will never consider this company again. read more

I booked my move for 9:00 am, and the day before my scheduled move I confirmed the time and locations. On day of, around 9:20 am the movers had not yet arrived and I had no calls from them so I called the person I confirmed with the day before to see what was happening. He said they had to complete an extra job that morning but the movers would contact me with their estimated arrival time. Approximately 20 minutes after they contacted me, and they finally arrived at 10:00 am - an hour after my scheduled and confirmed start time. In the numerous conversations with driver (as he was supposed to be moving) he said this was his first and only job for the day, he had only arrived at the office at 9:00 am that morning and didn't know he had a job that day. I found this very unprofessional (not contacting me when the drivers were going to be late, and what appears to be the office lying) and made the moving process even more stressful since I had to book elevators and security guard for my move. I was moving a 1 bedroom apartment, had everything packed, stacked and dismantled and it took them 3.5 hours to complete the move (I was moving a 10 minute drive away)! I completed the survey after the move to tell them about my experience - I missed a phone call from them and called them back right away (then emailed the person I originally booked with) but have not heard back from anyone almost a month later. Poor customer service seemed to be common except when you are booking with them. I would not consider using them again. read more

Moving Day October 17, 2016. The movers were on time and worked hard! However, they broke the key in the elevator. We had to pay a damage deposit on the elevator and keys. We recently hired these folks to do what we perceived as a small move this past weekend. The process to hire these folks was a relatively easy process and went smoothly, however, from the time the drivers showed up ( two young men), it was an experience that one would not want repeated. These two men showed no sense of urgency to get this job completed, had difficulty reading a map to the loading dock of the new location and then spent more than 45 minutes trying to back up the truck into the dock area. At the end of the move they then wanted to charge my son for the time they wasted. Fortunately, he called into Dispatch , explained the situation and they were understanding enough to reduce the invoice to cover the cost of the wasted time . Being a former military family, we have moved several time s over the years. This, by far, was one of the worst experiences. read more

Called for a quote and was told 1 hr for travel. Then 2 days prior to our move they call and my husband is quoted 1.5 hours travel time. When I see this amount on the invoice I called the company to advise the Quote given was for 1 hour travel - company refused to stand behind their original quote. The moving guys were good and they were friendly but from what I could tell they were 3rd party movers contracted by Two Small Men ... so not even from this company. If you are thinking of using this company be sure to get their 'free quote' in writing so you will be paying the AMOUNT you WERE QUOTED AT TIME OF BOOKING!!! read more

Hired these guys for a move with in city, FRIST I waited about 3 hours for them to show up! SECOND the move took all of 1 hour and 35 minutes to complete (Great!) BUT the $99/ hour charge (which sounded reasonable on the phone) after everything my total bill was just under $400!!!! It would have been nice to be told up front that hiring them was a 3 HOUR MINIMUM!!! And seriously I had to google map my move for them too. People don't waste your money!!! Never again. read more

Reading previous reviews and they are still horrible. Hired a different moving company for a short 10k move. They then third partied the move to Two small men, they proceeded to lose items and damage brand new appliances, when I say brand new I don't mean that they were a couple weeks old and moved from one location to the next. I'm talking brand new had them pick them up from Sears still in the box brand new. The movers removed the box prior to entering new place and the furniture dolly that was used dented each side of the fridge. They then proceeded to deny any hand in the damage until dolly matched up to the damage. They also unboxed the brand new range and got rid of the box with the range leveling legs still in the box. No one ever asked them to unbox any of the appliances. After all of this the claims lady is completely unhelpful and they only want to cover 60cents a pound for any damage so $180 for a $2200 dollar fridge. There is more but all I have to say is never use them to move anything they play by their own rules. read more

We just moved from Gibbons, AB to Calgary, AB. The movers were so nice and respectful of our belongings. Nothing was broken (not anything that mattered anyways). But was extremely disappointed when our belongings didn't fit on their truck and they didn't have any way to get the rest to Calgary. We didn't even need to take our upstairs living room furniture or the basement furniture, yet they were told it's a 3 bedroom house with basement and shed. So my husband had to rent a UHaul and drive back to Gibbons (4 hour drive) and pack/clean (because we couldn't do it the day before with stuff still inside) and then he drove back to Calgary the same day. The movers labelled boxes very vague, but didn't even try putting them in the correct rooms let alone the correct floor. They were fast but not accurate. We were not offered any discount or compensation for the extra cost it would be for the rental, gas and extra day my husband was off work to go do this. read more

What a fiasco, they broke a 30 year old mirror, left the moving blanket on it, guess they thought I would not notice, broke the corner off another valuable mirror, said nothing, ripped the bottom off my coffee table, no apologies. 5 phone calls to their claims department unanswered. 2 very small money grubbing heartless irresponsible men, taking advantage of seniors and don't give a damn what happens. read more

We hired this company for a move last March. It is now October and the diningroom table that they broke during the move has yet to be replaced. Ignores phone calls, emails and has not acknowledged that they have our claim, sent back in June. I am frustrated and angry. read more

I wish there was a way I could give this company a negative rating! Worst company I've ever dealt with. I moved from a small one bedroom apartment that was under 600 square feet to another one bedroom apartment about a 10 minute drive away, however, it took them about an hour to get from one place to the next! When I originally got a quote from this company they quoted me at $556, the day of the move, I didn't even know what time they were coming, if they were coming or anything. I had to call in the morning where they said they'd call me back, this didn't happen, they just showed up. Then to my surprise there were only 2 guys when there were supposed to be 3!! By the time the move was over...they charged me $1094!! Ridiculous! I barely had anythings to move, the biggest thing I had was a couch....which I had them throw out. It didn't even come to the next place. I have phoned multiple times and left multiple emails to complain to this company and they have yet to return any of my calls or emails. I am beyond irritated and will NEVER EVER EVER recommend this excuse for a company to anyone. read more

WORST MOVERS AND COMPANY EVER!! DONT EVER USE THEM!!! -showed up 3 hours late (was suppose to be there at 8AM but didn't arrive until 11AM) -receptionist actually argued with me that when she told me they would be late by 15 mins (call at 8:17AM) that she meant 9:15 cause they weren't starting till 9. Ok fine, but why is it at 10AM when I'm having this convo with you they are still not there? Oh because they left Richmond (where they are located as was I) to go to Surrey to pick up the 2nd guy. She says they'll be there at 10:20 - no apology, nothing. Fine. I have no choice so I wait. -11AM they arrive holding Tim Hortons coffee (FUCK, I'm so happy you were able to get your breakfast in even thought I had been waiting for 3 fucking hours on the sidewalk to escort you upstairs). -Guys while nice were not prepared to this job. The guy they picked up was feeling 'sick' - he reeked of booze and sweat was dripping off his face! -11:45AM - Guy that was sick comes out of my bathroom (after being in there for 10 mins) and tells me that the MacDonald's he had the night before didn't agree with him!! I had to re-clean my toilet as it had a butt shaped sweat stain on it. The apartment reeked like shit for 40 mins! -Guy decides he'll stay downstairs to load truck - of course he barely is moving. My husband steps in to help the other guy (driver who is now upstairs bringing stuff down) as the new owners are at our place waiting for their new apartment (They took possession at noon and it was 1pm!) -Walk to our lobby at 3pm and find that ALL our stuff is sitting there as the guy downstairs is not feeling great. He tells me that he was 'forced' to come into work today by the employer... -2nd guy (driver) who was working really hard tells me that he is pissed at the other guy because he depends on tips. Fine. I get it. He was working hard but after everything - come on! -We are stuck in rush hour traffic because guess what - we were late leaving our place. But company doesn't care as they get paid by the hour!! -Arrive at our new place - we don't have internet or cable for a week because we missed the cable guy. -We haven't eat a bite yet (its around 5 pm now) but the guys were able to stop at a drive through on their way there - and yes we paid for the time they did that too! -Finally empty the truck (yes I tip the guy who was working very hard) and paid over $1000 to the company for their shitty late and slow service! If we wanted to be late or to do it ourselves we would have rented a truck instead of hiring your useless company! -Try to contact company to complain - get re-routed over and over again. Manager is never in when I call. Finally get a number for their complaint department - 604-755-1694, Stephanie - guess what - I still haven't been able to speak to one damn person! Phone doesn't even ring, just goes straight to answering machine. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY USING THIS COMPANY - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY AND WHEN THEY HAVE YOU STUCK IN A CORNER THEY HAVE A RUDE PERSON TELL YOU THAT YOU WERE INCORRECT WITH THE START TIMES (OK - YOU ARE STARTING BETWEEN 8-9...WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU THEN ARRIVING AT 11?). Reading this I can see that I'm not the only one - they are late so they can be stuck in traffic so that you have to pay them. They send guys who are not suited for the job because they get paid more when the guys are sick and can't carry shit! Just used this horrible company to move from lloyd this weekend. Worst moving experience ever! Do not hire them, they come 90 minutes late and unprepared for a booked packing job. Show up with no boxes and charged me to go get some. They don't use runners in your house when you move out and also didn't use mattress bags we ordered, which is disgusting. Our movers were crass, rude and careless. They broke our furniture and stained my carpet with their dirty boots. That was in the summer. I have been dodged by head office claims department since then to fix our furniture. No one returns calls or emails. Worst customer service ever! After doing a wonderful job collecting my furniture, once the movers dropped off my furniture that's where the service when down hill. Not only did they over charge me on the hours worked, the two movers actually started yelling at me saying I was calling them liars when I questioned the amount of time the delivery took. Then once I inspected everything, I found that a piece of a footboard was missing and a dresser was damaged. After calling Sales to request a claim be started I was told 'claims will contact me' and was then hung up on... it's been almost 4 weeks that I have called the office every day and left messages and NO ONE has returned my calls. THEY STOLE MY STUFF! I was just contacted over email with photos of my belongings! We hired this company to move my mother in a condo a month ago and we haven't had time to go through all the boxes. It looks like some of the boxes went missing during the move because I have photos from a girl in Edmonton showing my things, good thing they had business cards inside them. She said that her boyfriends dad who is questionable character dropped my things off at her house saying that a lady who owned the storage locker next to his had a store that was closing it out and gave him these things! Which is a total lie. I have NO DOUBT that the people who moved my belongings stole them. Hands down. The boxes went from the house to the truck and the truck to the storage locker where my mother was the only one that had a key, and then storage locker to her new condo. I am completely in shock that this happened. It must have been during the drive to the locations that they stopped and went through our stuff. read more

Even though my fiance and I hired Bill & Ben for our move I'm posting this on the Two Small Men With Big Hearts page because, apparently it is owned by the same person/company as Bill & Ben - our movers even showed up in a Two Small Men truck even though we had hired through the other guys. My fiance and I hired this company based on the quote I received, and the fact that they were regarded as a great company with the BBB. They did show up on time, but that was about the only good about the experience. We were quoted at about $550 for the whole move (about 4.5hrs) and it ended up being 7hrs ($950). My fiance and I had budgeted for $600, and we had to dip into other budgeted money to pay the remaining amount. And when I called for the quote, I made sure to give them every single piece of information they could need that could affect the cost. We even took a lot of items our selves (my car and his SUV were filled). The movers weren't horribly slow, but they were not careful. They broke THREE of our items (a bookshelf, a lamp, and our air conditioner) and even when we saw the damage, they denied everything. They also stacked boxes clearly marked FRAGILE on their side and underneath heavier boxes. They also got high outside of their moving truck while my fiance was still upstairs in our apartment. When I called yesterday to discuss the broken items, and the fact that it cost nearly twice what they said they thought it would, they were rude and dismissive. I was put on hold three times, and after getting into an argument with one of the women (I said they quoted us a significantly smaller amount and even an extra hour would be understandable, but three hours was outrageous and all she said was "it was an estimate, not a quote"), she said she would call me back regarding the broken items. I've never heard back from her. DO NOT use this company. It was such an awful experience and I'm still upset over it days later. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I had movers booked for 8:00am to move my contents from a storage facility to my new condo. I also paid extra for a 3rd mover as I could only block the parking lot at my new condo until noon and wanted to make sure it would be done on time. I arrived at the storage facility at 7:50am to meet the movers and no movers to be found. I couldn't get ahold of anyone from the company and it was a cold building so I started moving everything to the loading bay myself. I finally made contact at appx 9:45am and the movers showed up just after 10:00am. After finally arriving at my condo we had very little time until the moving van needed to be moved so myself and a friend had to help the movers in order to get everything out of the van on time. I booked movers so I didn't have to do the work myself yet ended up having to work the entire time. I was charged just under $600 for about 3 hours (more had myself and a friend not contributed), plus $150 in tips (I didn't think the movers were at fault) for a total of just under $750. I contacted Barb with my concerns and was told Stephanie, the service manager, would be in contact with me and it has now been over a month without contact. Had I felt they took my complaints seriously and at least contacted me I would have avoided this review. I highly ADVISE AGAINST using this company. read more

I have not used this moving company. I am reviewing because I have have 2 unpleasant experiences with them. First, they did not give me a quote. I submitted the required information online to get a quote. They followed up several days later via email with more questions that needed to be answered before they could give me a quote. I answered these questions, providing the details they required. This was several weeks ago and I never got a quote back. The second unpleasant experience was this week, their truck was manoeuvring into a parking spot outside my house, in a residential neighbourhood. It was 11:30pm on a weeknight and they woke me up with their loud truck. Then after the truck was parked, they proceeded to get out of the truck and have a heated conversation with loud voices in another language on the street outside my house. Im sure im not the only one they woke up that night. They do not appear to be professional at all. I will not be using this company. read more

I used this company to move from Calgary AB to Hamilton ON. I give 5 stars to the guys who actually do the work. They were punctual, professional, and took great care wrapping up everything in tons of moving blankets. No issue with them at all. My problem was with Walter, the agent who provided the quote, for 2 reasons. First, they provide a quote sheet that I filled in diligently. Using that, he severely underestimated the total weight (3480 lbs, quoted at 2700 lbs). Second, there was a stair surcharge because I was on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. This was not asked during the quote process and it is significant. So my entire bill came in $1,000 over quote ($3,879, quoted $2,885) which left me feeling completely misled and totally ripped off. And once your stuff is on the truck, you have zero choice but to pay. I asked for help but heard absolutely nothing back. I would never use these guys again, which is a shame because the movers themselves were great. read more
