She listened to what Mom wanted in flavors, the level of elegance we wanted, and told us she would get together with staff and come up with some designs. Well...we chose a 3 tiered cake with the following flavors: Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling, white cake with strawberry mousse, and strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese filling. The decorative element was simple but reflected the fall flowers that Mom loves...and then Sam suggested we do a Victorian type decorative element....she knew best. The cake was the best thing of the day and everyone at the party commented on how moist and flavorful the cake was. I had a piece of each...the white cake with strawberry mousse filling was in the top 3 of my favorite cakes. This definitely the place to get an elegant cake at reasonable prices. I took a chance, and it absolutely paid off. The conchas (and other treats) were incredible. Everything was fresh and exactly what I needed for my work event. I also brought a physical copy of the invitation that the image was taken from to show the woman who took my order. There was zero confusion on what was supposed to be Black. It was honestly the only thing that went wrong at the entire party. When I picked it up they just had young girls up front who already seemed nervous and the party was in 4 hours so it wasn't even worth the time or the stress to complain at pick up that the center wording was supposed to Black and White..... not green. You also can't change anything in the dessert platter that you order. Like swapping out profiteroles or eclairs for cheesecake bites. We finally decided on a Peanut Butter Classic Cookie, and the Chocolate Maple Bacon and Bavarian Chocolate Dipped Gourmet Donuts. Everything was delicious; however, my absolute favorite was the Bavarian Chocolate Dipped Gourmet Donut. The first thing I noticed was an excellent amount of chocolate icing across the entire top and on the sides of the donut. It was very chocolatey, very smooth, and perfectly sweet. The donut itself was very different than any Bismarck donut I've ever had. It was a VERY light, VERY fresh, soft dough vs the dryer denser dough of a chain location. The Bavarian cream filling was very flavorful with a light and creamy texture versus a thick pudding texture of the typical filled donuts. It was clearly freshly made that day and will absolutely be on my order each time. Our only "problem" was when we wanted to stop by to try something new and were very disappointed that we arrived on a day they were not open. We both agreed it was like wanting Chik-fil-A and then realizing it was a Sunday and they were closed. We were back the next day and will not make that mistake again! A few days later I got a phone call from the store manager. He offered to reimburse me for the coupons that hadn't worked. I told him it was fine, but I appreciated his call. He ended up putting some reward points on my mperks account! Fantastic customer service!! Also, the door greeter there is one of the best around. Good customer service is rare these days.
